Preksha Yoga Ashram is a live-in school, a place of learning where you can focus your mind and learn from experienced and knowledgeable teachers. The ashram is set up to mimic that of India’s traditional and ancient Gurukul System where you will be guided and supported by teachers throughout your stay with. This environment is simplistic in nature and practicality, allowing the space for growth and stillness.

Program

Preksha Yoga is rooted in the traditional practice of Hatha yoga while embracing innovation of the current day, conducting inclusive teachings on yoga asanas, yoga sutra, philosophy, anatomy, physiology, mantra chanting, chakras, Ayurveda, mudras, Kriya, advanced pranayama, and variation meditation techniques. Hence, in this yoga teacher training program, you will focus mainly on advanced philosophy and advanced asana practice.

After this completion, you will be able to register as RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance or any other yoga federation as you will receive an internationally recognized yoga teacher certification. Therefore, you must have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training course in any style before enrolling in this 300-hour course. As you are enrolling in this course, you will then be taken further along your personal yogic path and deeper into your journey as a teacher, helping you advance professionally.

Yoga means bringing discipline to the body, mind, and soul. The rules and regulations of the yoga school in India exist to guarantee the maximum spiritual benefits and are a part of the yogic lifestyle.

  • During a yoga teacher training course, 100% attendance to all the classes is mandatory.
  • Students must follow the schedule and attend all the classes, lectures, and other activities of the school.
  • Students of a teacher training course cannot leave the ashram, except on the day off. In case of an emergency, leaving the ashram is possible with permission of the course coordinator.
  • Mutual respect for all teachers, students, and staff should be displayed and maintained at all times, even in the event of differing views and perspectives.
  • The strict schedule and the diet offer you maximum benefit from the course. Students are expected to adjust to this schedule and diet as soon as possible.

Instructors

Yogi Madhav
Yogi Madhav is a very experienced yoga teacher. He has graduated in Philosophy, Sanskrit and Hindi. He also holds a Master degree in Yoga and Meditation. He has studied the Vedas, varying philosophies, yoga therapy, Pranic healing and reflexology. His in-depth knowledge of yoga and Vedas combined with a modern approach to teaching makes his teaching style unique.
Dr. Om Prakash
Dr.Om Prakash has a Ph.D. in alternative medicine. He also holds a bachelor degree in Ayurveda. He is a disciplined, confident, and goal-oriented individual. Carrying a positive mental attitude, he is a consultant in health and nutrition. He has also specialized in therapeutic yoga and naturopathy and is the founder of HHP (holistic healing practitioner) level 1, 2, and 3.
Katie
Katie is 250-hour trained and Yoga Alliance certified in Hatha and Yin yoga and hates to say the word instructor or teacher because neither feels authentic or comfortable for her to say, she simply shares what she loves, what she is passionate about, what she believes in and what she has learnt in the hope that it gives others what it has given her.
Prabhakar Rana
Prabhakar Rana is a yoga teacher with more than 1000+ hours of training behind him. His classes are infused with humor, positivity, and helping students build confidence on and off the mat. He has been studying classical texts of Vedanta and yogic philosophy. He also teaches philosophy and meditation with a modern outlook. His aim is to help his students build confidence with meditative practices and learn how to apply their yogic knowledge in daily life.

Retreat location

This teacher training will take place at Preksha Yoga Ashram, India. The ashram is situated amongst the tall banana and coconut trees and surrounded by lush green vegetation, submerged beautifully in the rich nature of Mandrem, Goa. Tranquil and secure in its setting, the ashram is a mere 7-minute walk from Mandrem beach and the soft deep sounds of the sea can often be heard from your beds.

The nearest airport is Goa International Airport (GOI) and is about 50 kilometers away from Mandrem. Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request with an extra charge of 1700 INR one-way.
