The Preksha Yoga Ashram is located five minute walk from the famous Mandrem Beach. Yoga, meditation, and ayurveda are the orders of the day, and you’ll find ever-changing options for spiritually slanted exercise and enlightenment along its sands. The ashram has simple and clean accommodation, eco-friendly.

Accommodation comprises of single rooms and double shared rooms. All rooms have attached bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with western toilet seats and cold showers. Hot water is also available during winter season. All windows and beds have mosquito nets installed.

By following the scheduled routine, you will not only invite discipline into your life, but you will find that you are more relaxed. Relaxation will lead you to spiritual discovery that will open your mind to a new way of thinking.

Meditation and mantra chanting

Days begin with meditation. You will learn techniques to work with vital energy centers in the body. You will learn Vedic mantra chanting in this session.

Asana and pranayama class

You will learn classical Hatha yoga postures with proper alignment, techniques, and modification. It will help you to improve your asana practice. You will also learn basic pranayama (breathing exercise).


This class will focus on introducing you to the basic philosophy, concepts, and history of yoga. You will talk about vedic and vedanta philosophy.

Yoga Nidra

You will conclude your day with yoga Nidra (yogic sleep). It will help you to release your physical, mental, and emotional stress. After yoga Nidra, you will feel calm, relax, and joyful.

  • Yogi Madhav

    Yogi Madhav is a very experienced yoga teacher. He has graduated in Philosophy, Sanskrit and Hindi. He also holds a Master degree in Yoga and Meditation. He has studied the Vedas, varying philosophies, yoga therapy, Pranic healing and reflexology. His in-depth knowledge of yoga and Vedas combined with a modern approach to teaching makes his teaching style unique.

    Kirsty began her journey with yoga after suffering from anxiety and looking for a natural cure. From her first class, she was completely addicted and she quickly realized that she wanted to become a teacher so that she could change other people’s lives through yoga, as yoga had changed hers. These days, Kirsty is an international yoga teacher, travelling the world and spreading her love of yoga everywhere she lands.

The yoga ashram is located in Mandrem, an idealic coastal village in Goa. Mandrem is, for many, the best-kept secret on the north Goan coast, as laid back and languid a destination as you could possibly hope for.

Three pure vegetarian meals per day and herbal tea are included in the price.

The meals in the yoga school are strictly vegetarian and it is not allowed to bring food from outside to the ashram. Also, during meals, silence is observed.

The nearest airport is Goa International Airport (GOI) and is about 50 kilometers away from Mandrem. You may arrange airport pick-up and drop off by sending a request to Preksha Yoga Ashram.

Arrival by Train

Pernem Railway Station is the nearest railway station which is just about 18 kilometers away from Mandrem. Other railway stations are Thivim Railway Station - 23 kilometers and Madgaon Railway Station - 63 kilometers.
