There is a limited number of rooms therefore the retreat price is based on shared bedrooms. Group size is kept to a maximum of 9 participants. A very limited number of rooms are also available for single occupancy.

The retreat environment is one of community with a friendly group atmosphere so guests who are joining by themselves should not feel apprehensive. There will also be ample opportunity for individual time, private walks, silence etc so those who are coming for self reflection will not be disappointed.

Program

Claire’s teaching style aims to make yoga attainable for everybody, so whether you are completely new to yoga, have an existing injury, or are a seasoned yogi, you should find the retreat interesting, rewarding, and hopefully you can take home some new perspectives with you. During the retreat, the classes will be taught to suit all levels and physical abilities. Therefore, no experience is needed in yoga or meditation for you to join the retreat.

Classes and workshops will include Gentle yoga, Restorative yoga, yoga Nidra, and meditation. The weekend is designed to bring balance to your tired body and worn mind, through gentle and restorative yoga practices. You will also have a plenty of free time to explore the surrounding woodlands, take a short hike up Killaha mountain which offers supreme views of Kenmare town and bay or simply curl up with a book.

Claire, a graduate of Himalaya Yoga Valley, is passionate about sharing yoga lifestyle with her students. A previous high pressure career in accountancy led her to deepen her yoga practice to reduce anxiety, bring balance back to her life and learn to live with ease. Through the use of pranayama, dynamic asana, Restorative yoga, and yoga Nidra she believes yoga is and should be accessible to everyone. Her students love her calm and reassuring teaching style. Claire loves being able to teach a wide range of students from beginners to advanced and teaching one on one.

The charming and peaceful private residence for the weekend is located just ten minutes' drive outside of Kenmare, the charming heritage town known as the Jewel of the Ring of Kerry.

Situated at the edge of a silver birch woods with views of the Ballygriffin valley and surrounding countryside lies this stunning property. A custom built retreat center, your unique yoga space will be held in the bright and airy artists studio. As nod to the owner's passion you will find original artwork in most rooms of the house.

Complete with a soothing stream running through the grounds and balconies with stunning views, guests will be able to take quiet walks through the private woods or find solitary places to sit and simply enjoy the nature around them.

During the weekend you will have the opportunity to visit Kenmare town and pier or take a short hike up Killaha mountain which offers supreme views of Kenmare town and bay. Holistic therapies will also be available on site.

Food

During the retreat, you will be served vegetarian brunch and dinner each day. Hot and cold beverages and snacks will also be available throughout the retreat. If you have dietary needs or special request, please let Prana Yoga Retreats know upon booking. On Saturday you can take part in a cooking workshop with the chef, Piotr.

Prana Yoga Retreats believe in sharing seasonal creative and nutritious vegetarian cuisine. All meals are varied and freshly prepared on site. Mealtimes are just as much a part of the retreat experience as your yoga classes. Carnivores need not be fearful as they will see that vegetarian food can be so delicious, they won’t even miss their meat!

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Driving directions from Kerry Airport and Cork airport

  • The most direct route from the airports is via the N22 road which links Killarney and Cork.
  • Turn off at loo bridge for Kenmare on the R569 which is well signposted.
  • Continue along the R569 until you reach Kenmare, at the first roundabout continue straight through the first exit.
  • At the second roundabout take the first exit onto the N71 (direction Skibereen) to join the Bantry road.
  • Cross the bridge, continue straight along Bantry road for about 400 meters, then take a sharp turn to the right off the Bantry road at the sign Ballygriffin (to the right).
  • Continue along this winding scenic road for 2.4 miles (4 kilometeres). Drive slowly.
