This retreat will take place at the Prana-Veda Sanctuary in Bali, Indonesia. Bali belongs to the Lesser Sunda Islands and has a size of 5561 square kilometers and a population of approximately ten million. From north to south, the island is 95 kilometers long and from east to west 145 kilometers wide.
Bali, the island of the gods and demons in the Indian Ocean, always fascinates its visitors. The special energy of this Hindu island with all its rituals and traditions, which accompany its inhabitants from birth to death and further on, is the basis of the families and the village communities. It creates the order of the family life and the ethical guidelines of the whole nation.
The Prana-Veda Sanctuary is situated on the north coast of Bali directly on a wide beachfront on the Indian Ocean, in Bondalem, Tejakula. Far away from the main tourist stream, where you still find the island of the gods in its traditional, spiritual, and magical variety.
It is in the middle of an exotic garden, an oasis with tropical fruits, flowers, and coconut trees. A magical place of beauty, stillness, and peace, where you can be inspired by the magic of Bali.
The reef just in front is filled with colorful tropical fish and coral gardens, which invite you to snorkel. The local fishing boats will take you on a trip for sunrise or watch the dolphins.
During this retreat, you will be served three delicious meals daily, mineral water, a variety of teas, fruits, and Balinese coffee.
At Prana Veda, the highly appreciated delicious dishes, as well as the sharing of meals in a community, contribute to the overall well-being and contentment of guests. The tasty food is prepared with herbs, salads, vegetables, and tropical fruits partly from the organic garden and from the local market.
It is a synthesis of health aspects and indulgence. All the food is prepared in a healthy way and the salads are washed in purified water. Homemade yogurt and jam from tropical fruits are available as well as home-baked bread and fresh fish directly from the fishermen.
On request, the restaurant can prepare Ayurvedic health food according to your needs, for an additional cost. Your meals can be served on your private terrace or in the restaurant, a Balinese bale by the pool and ocean.
For breakfast, you may choose from a Western or Indonesian meal. For lunch and dinner, you may be treated to delicious traditional Balinese, Thai, and Italian dishes. You can also order special coffees, cakes, and fresh juices from fruits, vegetables healing herbs, mineral water, a variety of teas, and Balinese coffee.
Parts of the fresh ingredients are harvested from the fruits and vegetable garden, which was created using permaculture principles. Prana Veda Sanctuary gardeners passionately take care of the garden and make sure that the flowers are blooming and the fruits and vegetables are thriving well. In the afternoons, the chef will harvest fresh organic vegetables, herbs, and spices for dinner.
Practice snorkeling and explore the coral garden situated just in front and be amazed by colorful tropical fishes.
You are very welcome to join ceremonies such as full moon ceremonies, birth ceremonies, weddings, and cremations. By joining these events, you can get in touch with the locals and get insights into the Hindu beliefs and traditions of the island.
From Prana Veda, you can venture out for beautiful day trips, such as to the Buddhist temple and hot springs, to see the sunrise on the sea on a local fishing boat or climbing mount Batur, the water palace of Tirttagangga and the White Sand beach, or to the temple at the sea in Bratan, as well as visiting local social projects.
