    The accommodation options are on private, double or twin, and triple room basis. Poundon House is an Edwardian house built in 1908 and set within 12 acres of grounds. It is only offered on exclusive use basis to established well-being companies. With 10 bedrooms, it is an ideal venue for retreats with up to 18 guests.

    The inside of the house is just as impressive as the outside with large paintings, ornate fireplaces, and plenty of space for you. You have exclusive use of three reception rooms, each one with its own unique character. The bedrooms offer the chance to really enjoy the venue and settle in for the weekend. They are spacious, light, and extremely comfortable.

    The bed linens have been carefully sourced and is of the highest quality. There are shared bathrooms as the house has kept true to its original design. There are hypnos mattresses, homegrown lavender by the bed, linen sheets, feather duvets, and pillows. Please note that feather-based allergies can be catered for with advance warning.

    Poundon House also has various spacious rooms like the drawing room, which is cozy with the open fire in the winter months. The library is a quiet room to curl up and read. The yellow room is a beautiful room for your meals with its far reaching views. The dining room is transformed into a yoga shala for the weekend.

    The yoga space

    The yoga space becomes an integral part of the weekend where you can keep silence and retreat to for private meditations whenever you need to. Poundon House provides yoga mats, blocks, and blankets. The views to the countryside are beautiful and tranquil and make the perfect backdrop. This beautiful space is light in the day time and in the evenings we create an atmospheric setting using candles.

    The kitchen

    You are always welcome in the Poundon House kitchen! The kitchen, is the heart of the house, many a problem can be solved while putting the kettle on or warming yourself by the aga. On your retreat, breakfast / brunch will take place in the kitchen and dinners in the Yellow room: one of the large downstairs reception rooms.

    We believe in celebrating nature, the Seasons and other important times of year such as the transition of seasons and cycles. You will experience morning and afternoon yoga practices, nourish your souls and bellies with delectable food, celebrate with song and dance, go deeper with meditation, pranayama, refresh with long country-walks and make connections with like-minded, lovely souls. As well as a lot of time in the shala with Mischa, there will be open fires to bask before, long walks to be taken, hot baths to relax in, massages and treatments to release tension and a creative workshop time to spark our imaginations into life. There is no better way to continue the New Year than full of life, love, energy, yoga and a refreshing walk in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside!

    Your time, is well, your time. We want you to enjoy the weekend to the fullest extent, therefore, it really is up to you, whether you want to join for the country walks or luxuriate in a hot bath or sit by the fire in the library reading your book. We do recommend that you attend all the yoga classes but if you feel your body needs a break we respect this. There will be plenty of support on the retreat from the Poundon House team for the duration of your retreat.

      Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Vinyasa Yoga)

      Mischa's yoga journey began over a decade ago and slowly began to weave its way through her life. She is continually humbled and inspired by the potential of yoga to transform, expand, and heal and is devoted to sharing the practice with others. She holds enormous gratitude to leading Vinyasa flow teacher Claire Missingham with whom she completed her initial 200 hours and went on to assist for some time afterwards.

    The retreat will be held in Poundon, Oxfordhire, England. Poundon House is set in a convenient location, which makes it the perfect setting for a healthy weekend in peace, tranquility, mindfulness, and the chance to celebrate with your closest friends in splendid isolation.

    We want you to relish and enjoy the food, especially after a yoga practice or long country walk. We also want it to be nutritionally sound and match the aim of enhancing how you feel by the end of the weekend. Therefore, the food will be healthy, clean vegetarian food prepared by one of our experienced retreat chefs. There will be fresh smoothies or juices to kick your day off to a healthy start and fuel you for your energetic morning practice. After morning practice there will be a big hearty healthy breakfast or brunch, a light lunch or afternoon stack in the early afternoon and then a lovely candle-lit two-course dinner in the Yellow Room in the evenings. Healthy snacks will appear just when you need them, as if by magic!

    Poundon House provides one bottle of mineral water per person in the bedrooms. There is also plenty of fresh filtered water at various water / tea stations throughout the house. This is not only more eco-friendly but our filtered tap water is perfectly delicious!

    The kettles will always be on at Poundon because we love tea! You can expect a continuous delicious stream of herbal and fresh teas provided throughout the retreat.

    Driving directions from London

    • Take junction 9 off the M40.
    • At the roundabout above the motorway, head towards Bicester on the A41.
    • At the Esso petrol station roundabout, turn right. You are now on the Bicester bypass.
    • At the next roundabout, take the second left towards Launton.
    • Follow the signs to Launton.
    • In Launton, at the crossroads, turn left opposite The Bull Inn, this should be marked Poundon.
    • Leave the village, going over a railway track about a mile out, and then go straight over the next cross roads.
    • About three miles from there, after going up a steep hill and past a couple of farm entrances, Poundon House is on your right with black gates and a lime tree avenue.

    Driving directions from Buckingham

    • On the Buckingham or Brackley ring road, follow signs to Gawcott.
    • Continue into Gawcott and turn left at the T-junction, signed towards Marsh Gibbon or Twyford.
    • Continue until you pass the Seven Stars pub on your right, where you can take the next right to Twyford.
    • Turn right into Twyford and continue through the village.
    • About one mile out of Twyford, turn right towards Poundon, then take the left by the Sow and Pigs Pub.
    • Drive up the village.
    • Poundon House is the last house on the left with the black iron gates and lime tree avenue.

    The nearest train station is Bicester North. Poundon House can help arrange car share or pick up from or drop off to this station.

It is quite simply some of the best food I've ever eaten. The yoga sessions are brilliantly structured and Mischa is an incredibly committed and knowledgeable yoga teacher.       "Massive rooms with wooden floors, high ceilings, and original features and fireplaces provide super spaces to dine, read, relax, and practice yoga, while the bedrooms are individually furnished, tasteful, and comfy.
