I would give this retreat 10 out of 10. The location is beautiful and the retreat is supremely well organised. It is worth the money just for the vegetarian food that is served! It is quite simply some of the best food I've ever eaten. The yoga sessions are brilliantly structured and Mischa is an incredibly committed and knowledgeable yoga teacher. She teaches with the experience and knowledge of a great teacher and the enthusiasm, wonder and humility of a great student. It's a very powerful combination. Her commitment is total and completely inspiring. The combination of the nutrition, instruction and location really do make it a retreat that you take home with you. I have just read this review and I'm thinking that I should write down something that they could do better. However, I really can't!
I had a wonderful time at Pound House for the New Year Retreat. I felt truly blessed to have this time…with these people in such a beautiful setting AND great teaching!
Queen of Retreats
The perfect backdrop to encourage inner calm. The combination of unpretentious home comfort and discreet professionalism somehow shouldn’t really work, and yet it does to gratifyingly good effect. I felt I had walked into my dream home, experiencing almost instant calm and contentment. It is huge without being intimidating, comfortable without forsaking cleanliness, and I resolved to resume my lottery ticket buying habit instantly.
Reflecting back now on my weekend at Poundon House with the wonderful Saskia, I can honestly tell you I found this retreat to be totally transformative. There is scientific evidence to suggest that both yoga and meditation can change neural pathways in the brain and I have to say I can fully feel the effects. Trust me when I say I genuinely feel better than I have done in years! I wake with more energy and ready to hit the ground running most days whereas previously I was always pretty sluggish in the mornings. I also feel generally calmer and more positive on a daily basis.
Natalie and Alicia have created a very personal environment which fits so perfectly with yoga and allows people to fully let go and get a really rich experience.
The attention to details at Poundon has been amazing, from goodie bags on arrival, wonderful food, and amazing yoga and meditation.
I’m coming away feeling relaxed, in tune with myself, enriched, nourished, and with a better awareness of myself, thank you!
