The property consists of a beautiful old farmhouse and cottages situated in a beautiful riverside location. Private, twin, and quad/triple rooms are available and furnished to high standards and with views out to the stunning Herefordshire countryside and the River Wye. The accommodation offers guests a tranquil, rejuvenating home-away home experience. The rooms are spacious, airy, and peaceful, all tastefully decorated and with comfortable beds You will also get free access to high-speed Wi-Fi during your stay.

As part of the Retreat Package, Plantation Villa arranges afternoon activities in keeping with the concept. If you want to get your hands in the soil, you are welcome to garden with them, as well as help out with any of their charity projects.

Ishara is the founder and owner of Plantation Villa. She is a regular meditation practitioner whose practice has changed her life. She has practiced and studied Buddhism and meditation over the last eight years. With an inspiring life story, Ishara helps explore the world of meditation through an explanation of the mind, its nature and habits, to overcome obstacles and allow the inherent sense of fulfilment that we all have to shine forth.
Valerie is a qualified Ayurvedic Consultant and Therapist, Reiki Practioner and Reflexologist. She grew up in South Africa and moved to the UK in the 90s. Valarie has always been interested in alternative therapies and been a reiki practioner since 2000. Having run a successful family business with her husband, she has now decided to follow her passion in following an Ayurvedic lifestyle, teaching Ayurveda, cooking for guests, offering counselling/ life coaching and providing Ayurvedic therapy.
After 10 years of teaching Yoga and Meditation, Yiyang had finished her master’s study of the traditions of Yoga and Buddhism from SOAS University of London last year. Yiyang passionately integrates yoga practices into a therapeutic context, aiding individuals in their recovery from injuries and chronic pain. She creates a cooperative learning environment, avoiding an authoritative style, and guiding students and clients to tap into their own experiences for personal growth and well-being.
Liz Turner has been practising yoga for over 20 years with a range of teachers and traditions. She follows the tradition of Krishnamacharya. Liz went on to train in this with Stephen Brandon and Srivatsa Ramaswami’s who himself studied for over 30 years with Krishnamacarya. This is a lineage in which knowledge has been transmitted for 20 generations and Liz feels privileged to receive this unchanged system and pass it onto students. Yoga therapy is woven into these approaches. Liz is also qualified in Children’s Yoga, Teenage yoga and Chair Yoga, plus as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant.

Nestled within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Ruxton Farm is a rustic 17th-century farmhouse with homely en-suite rooms, 14 acres of gardens, and the river Wye on its doorstep. The closest airports are Cardiff International Airport (CWL), Birmingham International Airport (BHX), and Bristol Airport (BRS), which are around a 90-minute drive to the retreat.

Nutrition is a cornerstone of Ayurveda, as food is considered both a potential cause of disease and a powerful tool for healing. In Ayurveda, many foods, especially spices, are seen as medicinal, and our carefully curated menu reflects this philosophy. Designed by our Ayurvedic doctors, the meals follow specific guidelines on timing, portion sizes, and preparation methods to ensure they are easily digestible and help balance the body's doshas.
Light and easy to digest, typically a variation of porridge with fruits, aligned with Ayurveda's belief that the digestive fire (agni) is weaker in the morning.
The main meal of the day, with larger portions often based around rice, served when the digestive capacity is strongest.
A lighter meal served early in the evening to support digestion and promote restful sleep.
Your meals are freshly prepared on-site in our farm kitchen, using organic and locally sourced British ingredients blended with traditional Ayurvedic and Sri Lankan recipes. The dishes are primarily plant-based, featuring vegetables, grains, and beans, which are mild and balancing for all doshas. The meals are vegetarian, gluten-free, and free from refined sugars, artificial products, and preservatives. We can provide vegan options and cater to specific dietary needs upon request—just let us know in advance.

While they does not offer an airport transfer service, they are more than happy to recommend you a local taxi company. Please try to share car or use public transport if possible to respect the peacefulness of the environment.
The closest train stations are Hereford (20 minutes drive away) and Gloucester (40 minutes drive away). NOTE: If you are going to take a taxi, Plantation Villa highly recommend you book it in advance to avoid waiting around as they are not always available at the station.
