    Testimonials

    • Review by a traveler from Reading, United Kingdom

"Well, in our two and a half week holiday traversing Vietnam from South to North I can honestly say that this was probably the best place we stayed in. The accommodation was vast, large bathroom, bedroom and balcony not to mention the helpful and smiling staff who kept everything shipshape. The jewel in the crown was the swimming pool.........it was vast! There was always enough room in the loungers around the pool at the time we went (mid April) and the water was warm and feature ornaments by the poolside sprayed jets of water at various times. Prices of drinks were reasonable with a happy hour 2 for 1 offer by the pool."

"For the evening meals we ate in the dining area having various dishes including vegetable rice and shrimp and pork, noodles, fish fillet and beansprouts and dips. The food was very good and reasonably priced at around 210,000 Dong/person. The hotel entrance was quite deceiving, but once you went through the gate it was a different world. There were spa facilities, a snooker room, various bars, library and a few shops on site, all low key and blending in the countryside."

"I suppose it could be called nit picking but two issues were slightly annoying to me. Our balcony was overshadowed by tall palms and the actual buildings, although very comfortable inside, were somewhat out of place being built of concrete and brick. Still, it should not detract from the overall sense of well-being we both felt. Being a good 15 minutes away from Hue and the Perfume river the hotel laid on a shuttle bus. You had to book a place on it for a departure time as it could fill up quickly."

"There were paths linking up the suites that you could wonder around and were lit up at night. Breakfast, although not as varied as some of the big hotels in Vietnam, was perfectly adequate serving both Asian and European styles and was undertaken in a separate building by the pool. Sadly, we were only at this hotel for 2 nights and could have done with another two as there is more to explore at Hue. The market is not to be missed and neither is the citadel. Perhaps next time?"

"A beautiful resort; stunning scenery and staff that do whatever they can to make your stay incredible . While a little outside of town (we didn't see the harm of being away from the horns and chaos of Vietnam traffic!) there are frequent shuttle buses that will certainly work around your pool dwelling schedule. If you want a touch of luxury that is in tune with nature, and not giant concrete monstrosity excessive; come to Pilgrimage."

"A personal touch is added with Director of operations Andre strolling through the resort to meet guests, and executive chef Brian (an Aussie- we are a little bias!) checking up to see we are content. Honestly, the service is exceptional & always striving to improve. "

    • Review by a traveler from London, United Kingdom

"We had booked a deluxe room, but on arrival were upgraded to the honeymoon bungalow near the Lotus Pond. Large very comfortable bed and bathroom and rooms were very clean. There was also a wonderful breakfast selection. Sadly it was raining while we were there, so we didn't get to make use of the pool, but this looked great too. The staff were exceptional - would especially like to thank Quyen. The hotel is a little outside the city center, which is great for relaxing and they do offer a free shuttle. Enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend."

"Great location, which is quiet, yet still easy and fast to reach the center of the city, and they offer free shuttle bus to go to/from the center. They have the whole package with every morning taichi, yoga classes, and gym area locating around a lotus pool (they are all free of charge). I'm impressed with their service, their well-trained staff, and the Operation Manager - Miwa, a Japanese lady who is mindful and observant. Very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended."

    • Review by a traveler

"My wife and I stayed here for four nights in the early New Year in a honeymoon suite. The resort is stunning, as was our room (amazing outside shower) and the service excellent without being excessive. Hue town centre is only a short taxi ride away and the resort operates a shuttle. We arrived late but still in time for the desk to book me a city tour the following day and a DMZ tour the day after."

"The resort is serviced by separate dining rooms. We ate in the main restaurant on three nights, food and service fine on each occasion. This was part two of a three centre holiday and was easily the most relaxing. We have talked about returning here and staying longer. In terms of service, particular mention should be made of Miwa Hayashi, the Assistant Operations Manager, who could not have been kinder and more attentive. This is a stunning property and I couldn't recommend it more highly."

"The village is beautiful and you get that impression as soon as you walk in ! The workers take your bags and you receive such a friendly welcome from the whole team! Breakfast and dinner was amazing and I highly recommend visiting the spa followed by a dip in the jacuzzi! Only down fall would be the Wi-Fi as it's pretty slow but other than that it is perfect ! The staff all go above and beyond for you, I misplaced my wallet and they had a manager up to our room right away searching for it which eased the stress as they found it within minutes! I also burned my finger and they had me bandaged up and gave me a gift too! Defiantly would visit again!"

"Perfection. The room, the service, the food, the atmosphere, the activities. Everything was perfect. I stayed in the Honeymoon hut with private plunge pool and outdoor shower. It was a magnificent room with more than i expected. The complimentary daily activities included morning Tai Chi and Yoga with meditation and was a perfect addition to the holistic experience of this beautifully set resort which is surrounded by lush trees. I stayed here Jan 8th to 10th and all staff were lovely, polite and the service was excellent. Being a solo traveller there is nothing more important then feeling welcomed and this i definitely felt at Pilgrimage Village. Thank you."

"This was truly the best place I have visited over the past few months. We stayed in a 1st class bungalow, and it was beyond anything I expected. The place was quite big for a couple with about three living spaces separate bath ( 2 people bath ) and our own pool. Location of it was also good, it took only 15 minutes to get to the center of the city and the route was fairly easy. The rooms were cleaned twice every day one big cleaning in the morning and more casual bed preparations in the evening. Also, it was lovely how they left a bedtime story every night and lit up aromatic candles after every visit. The two public pools, billiard table, restaurants and the sunny weather was enough to keep us on the resort all day. However, as one can expect the pricing for the food and drinks on the resort was expensive, but we found a lovely place to get some snacks and good food just across the road. As for the staff, they were very polite and kind. Especially Operation Manager Miwa, a Japanese lady who welcomed us as we have known her for years. Without a doubt will come back to this or one of their other resort on my next trip."
