Physionatural Wellness Centre can accommodate for a small number of guests at their retreats, up to 8 at any one time so they can devote more individual time with you, offering more privacy and space for yourself in tranquil surroundings.

The three ground floor mountain view rooms are very comfortable and peacefully situated with natural sources of light and gorgeous views over the Iberic mountain range seen from your bedroom window. The accommodation is for couples or singles sharing, each room has two single beds. For single occupancy, there is an extra charge of 100 EUR.

The bedrooms are naturally bright with uplifting décor, stylish furnishings, quality bed linen, wooden flooring and each room has a large en-suite, with toilet, sink, and shower. Each room is equipped with an ozone generator, ultrasonic humidifying aromatherapy diffuser for essential oils, FAR infrared heaters, ceiling fan, TV, and Wi-Fi coverage. Each room shares a large terrace where you can enjoy your meals, sunbathe, or simply absorb the panoramic mountain views and expansive skies that truly help to enhance your feeling of wellness and serenity.

In the large country house, they have 4 more bedrooms, with warm wooden floors and ceilings, TVs, fans and windows with mountain views. There are common areas such as a spacious living room and kitchen, an east and a west terraces where to sit and relax in the evening. The house has 4 bathrooms (not ensuite), central heating, and wifi..

These rooms offer great views, much the same as at the ground floor rooms, probably a little better as they enjoy a higher vantage point.

Your accommodation preference is taken into consideration where possible, as it is also dependent on demand.

This is the timetable of a typical day you might expect during your retreat. Of course, there is no pressure, all activities are optional, you can pick and choose which activities you wish to participate in and give yourself plenty of time to relax. You can do some, all, or none, it's entirely up to you. There is also time for relaxation, sauna, swimming, sunbathing, walking, or spending time in the hot tub.

They do sometimes vary this program timetable, depending on the guest's requirements and the weather. That way you can feel more relaxed and not miss your chosen retreat activity!

Once a week they take you on a long excursion so that you can explorer some of the beautiful areas that surround you, like Castellote Templar Castle, Calanda or Santolea lake, the Bergantes river, or the Pitarque river source.

Daily timetable:

  • 08:15 - Hydration
  • 08:30 - Brisk guided morning walk to the river, or mountains
  • 09:30 - Breakfast and spare time to digest
  • 10:00 - Detox time
  • 10:45 - Rebounding
  • 11:00 - Yoga session
  • 12:00 - Snack, sunbathe, sauna
  • 14:00 - Lunchtime, followed by siesta time
  • 16:00 - Cooking and creativity workshops; drinks will accompany you throughout these sessions
  • 17:00 - Personal treatments and exercise sessions
  • 20:00 - Dinner
  • 2:.00 - Free time, hot tub, evening walk, reading the odd book. Two to three times a week, an evening discussion group is held, if weather permits, around the fire pit, where you talk about all things natural and curative.

Exercise your way to a healthy body

The gym workouts are encouraged as they not only allow you to lose weight faster but also sculpture your figure so that you can look great and feel attractive. Physionatural also includes aerobic exercises such as jogging, walking, swimming, cycling, and rebounding, which are timetabled throughout the week and all help to generate greater levels of health and vitality.

Following your health assessment, an individual exercise program will be made for you that focuses on your personal requirements so that you can exercise optimally and get better results. This can then be followed for the duration of your stay, with revision throughout and advice for when you return home.

What can you expect at the end of the retreat?

During the week's detox process you will really notice your health improving. Everyone is different but typically some pretty amazing things happen as your body and liver become rested and recover to give you amazing benefits. You will feel lighter, your mood will be happier, and your memory clearer. Joint pain can reduce, sleeping becomes more profound, eyes and skin become brighter, and you will experience an overall improvement of chronic symptoms. Your energy levels are going to skyrocket and you’re going to feel better all over and be carrying less weight than when you arrived, usually 2 to 5 pounds less.

Level of intensity

The intensity of your detox will depend on your individual needs and circumstances and to the degree to which you wish to commit to the process. If you are new to detox then they recommend that you start with a three-day detox period, this can be extended if you wish; nothing is set in stone, it is entirely up to you. The evaluation of your detox period can be decided once you are here, following your initial assessment.

How to prepare for your stay

First and foremost, if you are dealing with a chronic condition or specific disease situation, be sure to consult with your doctor before starting your cleanse and detox program.

3 or 4 days prior to coming, to help the liver prepare for your cleanse, try to stick to a less processed diet avoiding fried foods, excess of oil and fats, and have small meals. This will allow your body to rest and prepare. Also, increasing your water intake and adding a little lemon to it, will gently introduce you to the process.

In order to learn a little about you and your health, 2 weeks before the start of your retreat, they'll send you a health questionnaire, so that it can be returned to them before your stay. This information will help them to personalize your retreat as much as possible.

At the end of your week, a post-retreat guide, specific to your individual needs, will be given to you. This will facilitate you to continue with what you have learned and enable easy integration into your home life. They hope you enjoy the positive effects of your stay long into the future.

Included excursions

During your stay, on one of the days, you will go on an excursion to visit one of the many beautiful places in the vicinity. Close by, you will have a couple of big reservoirs lakes, Calanda and Santolea, ideal for long distance swimming.

The two rivers, the Guadalupe and the Bergantes have natural pools with crystal clear water and giant rocks perfect for diving off and sunbathing.

The surrounding villages of Castellote with its Templar Castle overlooking the village on the mountain top and Molinos with its intriguing Cristal Caves are both a short drive away.

Another impressive site is the Pitarque River source, with cascading freezing water and its raw landscape.

Retreat location

Physionatural is located at the doors of the Maestrazgo region, a beautiful area of Spain, set on the Iberic Mountain Range. Although they are in remote location access to them is easy. They are in a very rural area of Teruel, one of the most unpopulated regions of Spain. The clinic is two kilometers from the nearest village, Mas de las Matas.

The center stands on its own, with no immediate neighbors and sits in quiet and beautiful surroundings, overlooking the Guadalupe River valley and the Iberic Mountains, an ideal spot if you want to relax in a peaceful and natural environment.

This area is blessed with an amazing array of both flora and fauna, beautiful aromatic herbs, flowers, wildlife, mountain goats, wild boars, vultures, eagles, and kestrels. In the summer months, in particular, they are visited by amazing birdlife with swallows, bee-eaters, hoopoes, black redstarts, as well as green and great spotted woodpeckers to name but a few.

The region has great geological interest also with the surrounding landscapes that appear almost unpopulated, waiting to be explored. The Guadalupe River valley stretches from the edge of the property with plenty of footpaths for walks or hikes. Within a 10 minute drive, you can visit the two surrounding lakes, Calanda and Santolea, ideal locations for a bit of swimming. Also close, you can visit the Bergantes River, a beautiful canyon where you can enjoy a swim in natural clear pools or sunbathing on the giant rocks that line this canyon or visit the beautiful Cristal Caves in Molinos.

For those with interest, the local area is rich in Templar heritage with Templar Churches in Castellote and Bordon or the spectacular remains of a Templar Castle positioned on top of the mountain range that overlooks the village Castellote.

If you are tempted by Spanish tradition, there are many festivals throughout the year in the many neighboring villages; Alcorisa, Alcañiz, and Calanda where the Route de Tambor begins with drum playing processions and parades an amazing experience indeed. They are also very close to Alcañiz Motorland Race Track situated approximately 30 minutes away.
