Troy McPeak

Troy is a 500-hour experienced registered yoga teacher (500 E-RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. He has attended many teacher trainings to achieve this certification, including a 200-hour interdisciplinary yoga teacher training which explored many styles of yoga and 100-hour trainings including yoga Massage, hot power fusion, yoga sculpt, Children's yoga, and inner quest of the Yoga Educator. In 2010, he also hosted Fashion One's Model Yoga. He is currently based on the island of Oahu in Hawaii and has traveled and taught yoga to adults and children in many locations outside the U.S., including Costa Rica, Norway, and Thailand. Yogi Troy is also trained in Tai Chi Chuan, Reiki, and craniosacral therapy. He teaches a variety of beginner to advanced level classes. He loves to design his classes based on the yogis and yoginis who show up that day for that class. They have made a choice to be on their mat for a reason so he tries to cover a wide range of postures with a combination of quicker and slower movements. He likes to allow the yoga practitioners in his classes the time and place to really be in their yoga and to create the space for their yoga experience.

Yoga found Troy when he was at a crossroads in his life and career working as a project manager and engineer on bridge and highway projects throughout the U.S. He decided to take a break from his career to travel, learn more about yoga, and deepen his yoga practice. This decision has led Troy to thousands of hours teaching and training in many amazing places around the world. He is passionate about empowering students and helping them to find a yoga practice that is suitable for them. Yogi Troy is grateful to all of the teachers and students he has encountered on his journey and looks forward to many more.

"I am forever grateful. I cannot begin to convey my gratitude to yogi Troy for such a wonderful yoga teacher training. The teachers were supportive, thorough, and encouraging. The environment was fun and challenging. Questions and discussions were welcomed. From the first day, we were learning how to speak, think, and assist as a teacher in a safe way. I feel that all elements of yoga were introduced from asana to meditation, business, chanting, and even the importance of listening. Being in Hawaii provided the most beautiful and awe-inspiring setting one could ask for. This is more than a style of physical practice. It is a style of teaching that helps you and your students to take ownership of your practice and your life."

"I cannot go on enough about how wonderful the teacher training with Peak Beings was! I had recently (a month prior) been certified in Hot yoga, and at the end of it, I felt so hungry for more. I felt unbalanced and that I had not received the "full experience" so to say. I did a little research, and after talking to Troy, I decided to do an additional training with Peak Beings. This program was the perfect balance between body, mind, and spirit knowledge, and Troy's approach is truly universal. I am so grateful for the experience I had there and have been able to move forward with my yoga teaching due to the exceptional training I received. I would recommend this program to anyone."

"Peak Beings changed my life! I expected this experience to give me the skills necessary to be a good yoga teacher, but I left with so much more. The facilitator was direct, knowledgeable, humble, caring, intentional and relaxed. His humor lightened our spirits and created a safe space for our group. Our morning yoga practice was a wonderful blend of strength, sweat, meditation, breath and awareness. Through exposure to different yoga practices including yin, vinyassa, tai chi, anusara, and others, I feel better equipped to teach people from all different yoga backgrounds and experiences. This journey not only left me equipped to teach yoga but also gave me confidence and a higher sense of purpose. After taking the Peak Beings yoga teacher training, I move through my day with greater consciousness and am incorporating yoga into my life on a deeper level. I feel motivated and inspired. I feel awesome."
