During the retreat, you will stay at Sunil Guesthouse in Upper Bhagsu, about two and a half kilometers away from McLeod Ganj town. Its geographical location makes it comfortably away from main markets and distractions, which results in a calm, quiet, and contemplative environment for yoga and meditation practices. As the area around the center cannot be reached by motor vehicles, one can enjoy true serenity and the peaceful atmosphere of the Himalayas.
While the geographical location of this yoga center provides a calm and quiet atmosphere, the topography of the area naturally brings a meditative disposition, creating an experience of peacefully merging with nature. One can feel that he or she is relaxing in the lap of nature. Located on a flank full of green palm trees and boasting a vibe of a beautiful valley and chirps and tweets of birds, the center truly provides a conducive and spiritual environment for yoga and meditation practices.
The Sunil Guest House has nice deluxe rooms for yoga students only. Each room has a Western-style toilet with a 24-hour hot shower, a wardrobe, a big double bed, a blanket, a table and chairs, and free Wi-Fi. These rooms have enough space for two people.
During this retreat, you will have the opportunity to delve deep into the profound practices of Hatha and Ashtanga yoga, unlocking the potential of your physical body while harmonizing your energy centers. Peaceful Mind expert instructors will guide you through precise postures, helping you build strength, flexibility, and balance.
In addition to the physical aspects, they place great emphasis on pranayama techniques, teaching you the art of breathing correctly, rhythmically, deeply, and slowly. By mastering the breath, you will awaken your vital life force, stimulating inner peace, and enhancing your overall awareness.
At Peaceful Mind, meditation practice is seamlessly integrated into the retreat, enabling you to train your mind and access heightened states of consciousness. Through meditation, you will cultivate mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual growth, opening the doors to profound self-realization.
Peaceful Mind retreats offer a supportive and nurturing environment, allowing you to connect with a like-minded community of individuals on a similar path of self-discovery. Together, we create a space where you can rejuvenate your mind, revitalize your body, and replenish your spirit.
The ancient convention of yoga is a beautiful and living tradition, which is much more than the physical practice of Asanas (postures). It is a comprehensive system integrating the body, breath, heart, and mind leading to self-development and finding a deeper meaning in life.
The approach of the Peaceful Mind - The Ancient Yoga draws upon the ancient wisdom and healing practices of yoga and offers an integrated and harmonious practice of Asanas (postures), powerful Pranayama (conscious breathing), chanting, and meditation.
The instruction style encourages correct postural alignment, synchronization of breath, and movement and creates awareness of the mind-body-breath complex. The coaches are also passionate about the therapeutic aspects of this ancient system and work with individuals with specific needs by using props, therapy principles, and Viniyoga.
Yoga is about appreciating one’s uniqueness (physically, mentally, and emotionally). It is about acknowledging and adapting to change, continually redefining one’s practice, and thereby moving towards self-awareness and transformation.
On this yoga retreat, your instructor is Yogi Satendra. He likes to draw upon the ancient wisdom and healing system of yoga and teaches from a place of personal practice and experience. He encourages one to explore the potential and the transformational potential of this ancient discipline.
Yogi Satendra has always been passionate about motivating people to achieve their fitness and health goals and inspiring them to lead healthy lifestyles. Apart from being a personal coach, he naturally gravitated towards the practice of yoga, and his journey to the greatest learning of the self and optimal state of wellness began.
He expresses deep gratitude to his teachers and Gurus, his family, his students, everyone who made this journey possible, and to Life itself for the love, guidance, faith, and inspiration.

This retreat will be held in Dharamshala, close to the Himalayas. The Himalayas, meaning the abode of snow in Sanskrit, are a range of mountains with mighty snow peaks, forming the northern border of the Indian subcontinent. The Himalayas have been a great inspiration for spiritual practitioners, yogis, saints, as well as healers. Experienced by many practitioners and yogis as a very powerful energy center on the Earth, these sacred mountains have inspired many people. Dharamshala is located in the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
Nestled below the mighty snow-clad peaks of the beautiful Himalayan Dhauladhar mountain range, it is a wonderful location with an abundance of natural beauty and spiritual diversity. Dharamshala is the spiritual headquarters of Buddhists all over the world. It is the home of the Dalai Lama and the center of the Tibetan exile. Dalai Lama has been living here along with his followers since 1959. His presence and the Tibetan population have made Dharamshala a popular destination for Indian and foreign tourists, including students studying Tibetan culture.
Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj are twin towns located by the Himalayan mountain range. Dharamsala is mainly populated by locals. McLeod Ganj is the abode of the Dalai Lama. Many Tibetans have found their permanent settlements in this town and are leading peaceful lives. Bhagsunag and Dharmakot are twin beautiful hamlets located two kilometers away from McLeod Ganj. These two villages are relatively calm and quiet and give a conducive atmosphere for yoga and meditation practices. Hence, many yoga and meditation learners chose to come here for their training.
