You are welcome to this tribal moon and yoga retreat in Paya Bay Resort Honduras. Paya Bay Resort boasts an enviable beach location and superb view of the beautiful Caribbean sea. The place strives to be in harmony with the environment. The staff believes in doing good to all that is around them, as this releases good energy. Good energy is that yummy stuff that makes you feel good and makes life more pleasant and happy.
Your room is your private space during your vacation. Paya Bay Resort wants to make sure you have the creature comforts you expect, plus a little something extra that is unique, special, and out of the ordinary. The rooms have an island bungalow look and feel with their high ceilings and wooden floors. The happy colors of the walls are accented with indigenous Payan motifs.
The views from your private balcony will remind you everyday (and possibly every night as well) that you are in one of the most special places on the planet. You will drift off to sleep to the soothing sound of waves breaking on the rocks, the beaches, and cliff sides. It is as if mother nature is performing a symphony just for you. They promise you comfort, peace, and relaxation in an inviting, beautiful, and magical space.
The grounds at Paya Bay Resort cover over twenty-two acres, providing you a safe, varied, and interesting area to explore. The resort is building a growing network of nature trails to make the property and its many unique places easier to get to. It is possible that everyday you can discover something new about this amazing property by simply walking the many paths. They encourage walking. It has both exercise value (feel good) and the fellowship with nature will lift your spirits (be happy.)
The peninsula on which the resort is located has nearly a mile of waterfront. On the property, you will find a large beach (big beach) that is visited by locals and guests from other resorts, a bluff on which the restaurant sits, imposing cliffs, a smaller private beach known as Bliss Beach, a very large rock formation shaped like an alligator’s head that contains a tropical garden reserve, a small cove called Secret Cove, a large cove called Buccaneer Landing, an islet with a bridge, a private rock island, a small ridge covered with a dense tropical jungle, and a multi-acre wetland reserve.
Really an extraordinarily varied collection of features you will find fascinating to explore and enjoy.
This program is intended to those who seek a relaxing, yoga centric, healing, and ethereal vacation experience.
The ancient art of yoga allows you to consciously reconnect to your divine energy, the source of wisdom, healing, and renewal. Yoga leads you within. And it is within, at your very core, that you find your power for good that you can barely begin to comprehend.
As westerners have become more aware of the detrimental effects of stress on their physical, spiritual, and mental well-being, many of them are discovering the amazing power of yoga to neutralize the toxicity of stress.
Paya Bay offers Vinyasa flow yoga, a form of traditional Hatha yoga that focuses on integrating breath and movement, awareness and alignment, strength and flexibility, and your practice with your life. Likened to a dynamic dance, asanas (or postures) are connected through the breath for a transformative and balancing effect.
The largest of the Bay Islands of Honduras, Roatan is located approximately 40 miles off the northern coast of Honduras in the Western Caribbean. The island is 30 miles long and, on average, about five miles wide. The island is rugged and has several peaks that rise to nearly 1,000 feet. As a result of abundant rainfall in the rainy season, the island is very green and lush.
A portion of the Great Mesoamerican Barrier Reef which starts in the Mexican Yucatan and ends off Nicaragua can be found right offshore. This is the second longest reef system in world after the Australian Barrier Reef.
One of the last larger-sized islands in the Caribbean to begin development, Roatan is still largely in its natural and pristine state. The island boasts the Roatan Marine Park, a concerted effort to protect these beautiful and fragile reefs. The Port Royal Wildlife Refuge on the East End is another effort by government authorities to provide protection for birds and other wildlife.
Paya Bay Resort is a remote location on a beautiful peninsula that extends out from the island of Roatan ensures idyllic isolation and maximum distance from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Since the resort grounds comprise practically the entire peninsula (over 22 acres), you will find lots of space to enjoy. Two natural beaches, quiet coves, tall ridges, wetlands, and even a small adjacent island make this island retreat one of the most beautiful locations in the Caribbean.
The benefits of breathing naturally salty sea air have been known for centuries. Recommended to help relieve respiratory problems, salty air is also soothing to lungs that have been stressed by ground level pollution commonly found in larger urban areas. The waves breaking on the beach, cliff side, and even on the barrier reef just offshore from Paya Bay Resort constantly create a fresh mist of natural sea air that envelopes you and contributes to your good health.
Another healthy natural phenomenon you will find at Paya Bay Resort is the white noise generated by the constantly breaking seas on the reef and beach, as well as the wind rustling through the palms and trees. This soothing noise will assist you in having deeper and more restful sleep, contributing to a feeling of relaxation, and rejuvenation over the length of your stay.
Paya Bay Resort is a place to heal your body and your soul. The good energy of this wonderful place will help to neutralize physical and emotional pain and assist you in recharging your vital energy.

The price of this retreat includes three daily meals, snacks, natural beverages, and bottled water. Paya Bay Resort’s mantra is feel good, be happy. Tasty, wholesome food is a critical part of feeling good, which, arguably, is a prerequisite for being happy. Their menu includes a variety of healthier options designed to maximize energy and supply necessary nutrients while minimizing the stuff that can slow you down when consumed in excess (saturated fat, cholesterol, sugar, etc.).
Another part of feeling good comes from knowing that they are being conscientious and respectful of the sacred web of life. They are making an effort to minimize the use of any local species that are being overfished, as well as specific non-endangered species whose commercial production is considered harmful to the global environment. As they say here in Honduras: buen provecho!
Their dining room features a full-service bar that serves up delicious tropical cocktails and other favorite libations. They have a wine cooler we keep stocked with a variety of house wines, as well as a beer super-chiller with a good assortment of Honduran and imported brews.
If a very low-key, relaxed time is what you are seeking, you are suggested the rest and relaxation vacation package. This package has twice daily snorkeling trips included and you can add other activities to it if you wish. Perhaps, you'd enjoy a massage or two on the beach. Daily sunset yoga sessions will do wonders to help you heal and restore your vital energy. A day trip to pigeon cay is a great cherry on the pie.
Perhaps, you would like to focus on a particular activity like bird watching, snorkeling, scuba diving, or sport fishing. Maybe, you will consider doing the hike up Picacho, Roatan's highest peak. You may want to rent a car and go explore the island (or have a chauffeur show you the sights). There are many activities to choose from.
If you are an adventure junkie, you may like to experience Paya Bay Resort and Roatan through one of their guided vacations known as good energy experiences. You will be shown you the many ways they have learned to enjoy the property, Roatan, and the nearby islands and cays in a vacation experience that is active, fun, exciting, and will surprise at every turn!
Please book your flights to arrive at Roatan's Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB). Transfers from and to this airport are included in the price. Paya Bay Resort will pick you up at the airport. It is surprisingly easy to fly into Roatan. U.S., Central American, and various international scheduled and charter air carriers offer non-stop flights to the island from the USA, Canada, Europe, and Central America (daily, in some cases).
Nearby, on the Honduran mainland, multiple international airlines offer daily service to San Pedro Sula's Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport (SAP), the country's second-largest city. From San Pedro's regional hub airport, quick local airline flights are available to the island.
"We truly enjoyed our week at Paya Bay and plan to return. This is a serene sanctuary, the staff members, and owners are delightful, our room on the cliff perched over the sea was simple and spectacular simultaneously. Yoga in this setting is a must, as well as snorkeling on the nearby reef. And the private beach and turquoise water - yummy! Thank you for creating a peaceful place for rejuvenation and relaxation."

"I do love the place so much, that I keep coming back during my visits in Roatan. I never stay in the resort but we always visit the restaurant. The owners always friendly and the staff as well. I reviewed the whole experience was great, and the resort was beautiful with amazing views. If I have to review my meal that it was conch soup I will give 3 points, and 3 points to my hummus as well."
"The soup was not so delicious as during the other time we visited. Perhaps some key ingredients are missing, like yuca or green bananas, and hummus served with peanut butter flavor, but the rest were so worth it to be in such amazing place."

"I can't say enough about this beautiful place! We had a one-day shore excursion here and can't wait to come back for a week or so! We were greeted with fresh fruit and smoothies then shown to our room for the day. We then went down to Bliss beach and were amazed that we were the only two people on the private beach! We walked all around the beautiful grounds and sat at the "edge of the universe". We were served a delicious grilled shrimp lunch at the beach bar. Drinks are reasonably priced too. There is a fresh water pool with a waterfall on the beach! Oh yea, I might need to mention, this is a clothing optional beach. How often can you snorkel nude in paradise? When we were taken back to the ship, we had to pick up the owner of Paya Bay Resort. She was a very sweet lady. This was an absolutely perfect day for us!"

"We spent a week at Paya Bay in early June and it was wonderful from beginning to end. The grounds are lovely, with all sorts of secluded hideaways, and bliss Beach lives up to its name. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent. We also loved resort dogs Thelma and Louise, made us miss ours a little less. Highly recommended a stay at Paya Bay. We hope to return."
