The chakras are 7 wheels of energy and consciousness, located along the central axis of the body-along the spine. They underlie and influence every aspect of our being-physical, energetic, mental and emotional. We can work with these chakras through yoga practices and feel more balanced, centered and aware and therefore feeling revitalized. In this course we will move through creative Vinyasa morning practices. Balancing the mornings are Yin afternoons, a slow, deep yoga, melting into each pose and allowing awareness to open up.
You will be accommodated in the tranquil Sunrise Hotel Apartments in Naousa, with swimming pool and wonderful view, just five minutes away by foot from the yoga studio.
The yoga sessions are breath inspired practices that vary from meditative and rejuvenating (lunar) to challenging and empowering (solar). The emphasis of the class is on alignment, breath and meditation. In every class you will flow creatively through variations of sun salutations and all the groups of asana are integrated in sequences of Vinyasa to create full body transformation, strength and fluidity, circulation and centering. Chakra bodywork, pranayama and meditation are integrated within the practice.
This yoga retreat will take place in Naousa a nice fishing village on the northern coast of Paros Island in the heart of the Cyclades, in Greece. Kolimbithres beach owes its popularity to the surrounding rocks that seem like modern sculptures. The sea, waves and wind have created over the years wonderful, mild shapes of artistic superiority. Laying on the rocks, you can always find the perfect curve for your body to rest.
Nearby Kolimbithres beach, the Mycenaean Acropolis (1200 BC) is an archaeological site that definitely worth visiting by the history enthusiasts. It is easily accessed from the beach on foot, uphill biking or by car.
The park covers an area of over 8.000 square meters including several beaches, an area of rocky headland crossed with a network of footpaths, the picturesque lighthouse at Cape Korakas (dating from 1870), the monastery of Agios Yiannis Detis (built in the 16th century or even earlier), a modern ship yard and in the recreational area a vast open air theatre which throughout the summer holds a number of cultural and environmentally themed events.
The area of the park is of great geologic and historic significance for Paros and the Cyclades, and in fact of the whole Greece.
The whole park peninsula is offered for walking explorations, with various signaled hiking routes throughout - a total of 7 kilometers, passing from sites of amazing granite formations, open views to the Aegean and the sunset, various isolated beaches and historical landmarks. Cyclists may find various downhill off-road routes for mountain bikes, and starting at the park, you can easily bike along quiet countryside roads that bring all the way to Parikia port.
