The practical and theory sessions, accommodation takes place at tranquil and beautiful Villa Amatista with swimming pool and wonderful views. It is an inspiring and tranquil haven in the unspoiled countryside and vineyards of La Geria Natural Park. It is on a central location which means that it is the perfect base for exploring the magical island. The secluded country setting and Amatista´s excellent facilities make it a wonderful place for peaceful holidays and training.

The villa is also environment-friendly as they use solar panels, practice water recycling, and composting. Large organic gardens with fruit trees, vegetables, and aloe vera can also be found. There is Wi-Fi free of charge as well.

Lanzarote is the oldest of the Canary Islands. The most easterly point island of the archipelago, it lies 86 miles from the southern Moroccan coast and belongs geographically to the continent of Africa. The landscape often surprises the first-time visitors by its diversity and breathtaking beauty - mountains and rugged fields of recent lava (270 years ago), soft rolling hills covered with flowers in spring, and wide plains make up the 500 square mile island.

With 300 volcanoes, many areas of the island seem to be bizarre and otherworldly. In the fertile volcanic earth vines, onions, corn and sweet potatoes are still cultivated using traditional simple farming methods. Throughout the day the craters and mountains change their colors according to the varying positions of the sun: sometimes they appear in strong ochre and reds, sometimes soft greens, and cream.

Due to its unique characteristics Lanzarote has become part of the world heritage of protected landscapes and was declared a Biosphere in 1993 by UNESCO.

Take adventures

For water sports, Lanzarote is a true paradise. It offers outstanding conditions and facilities for surfing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, diving, snorkelling, and fishing as well as more terrestrial pursuits such as golf and tennis.

Roads have little traffic and its continuously changing scenery are ideal for cyclists. The many footpaths give hikers a special insight into the Island and its unspoilt treasures.

Visit famous tourist attractions

Many of Lanzarote’s attractions are of volcanic origin. The fire mountains in the National Park of Timanfaya, the lava caves Cuevas de Los Verdes, the green waters of the crater of El Golfo - in all these places the visitors experience both the destructive power and the creative force of the past volcanic eruptions. The most significant man-made attractions are those of Lanzarote born César Manrique, who was an artist and architect is famous for integrating the works of man and nature such as Jameos del Agua, the extraordinary cave garden created in the solidified remains of a lava river and Mirador del Rio, a lookout point on a steep cliff with panoramic views of La Graciosa Island. His works are all special and well worth seeing.

Driving directions from Lanzarote Airport

  • From the airport, take the motorway in the direction of Arrecife.
  • Take the first exit to Playa Honda.
  • At the first mini roundabout, take the 2nd exit and keep straight parallel to the motorway.
  • At the second big roundabout, take the third exit under the motorway.
  • Go straight over the next roundabout, and follow the signs to San Bartolomé.
  • After passing through San Bartolomé you will pass another roundabout, on the other side of which is the tall white Monumento del Campesino.
  • Take the second exit to Tinajo and Mozaga.
  • At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit to Tinajo.
  • Pass through the village of Tao, and then through the village of Tiagua.
  • As you exit the village of Tiagua, keep left towards Mancha Blanca and Timanfaya.
  • Pass by La Vegueta.
  • Drive one kilometer further and you will arrive at the crossroads in the village of La Vegueta.
  • Check a small football pitch on your left and a local shop with a yellow letter box on your right.
  • Drive 400 meters on your right, there is a large very pink house set back from the road. After 20 meters, turn left into Camino las Huertitas - the sign is not very visible.
  • After another 400 meters just before the white wall of the first house on that road. Turn right where you see an Amatista sign with an arrow on it (if you miss that turn you will end up in a cul-de-sac).
  • Follow the road up, and around to the left another 500 meters. On your left before the end of that road, you will see first the number 9 and shortly afterward the number 11 with the entrance sign for Villa Amatista.

    "When I choose Paros Yoga Shala I didn't know what to expect other than a beautiful island in Greece, but I have to say that my choice was an excellent one, from the accommodation to the amazing food, and Irana was the cherry on top of the cake. She has wisdom and great knowledge on yoga. I attend many workshops but her was my best so far. I got so much from her in more details. The transformation yoga program included the philosophy and science of the Buddhism culture, Chanty, and meditation is part of the program (it was not my favorite part, just from my personal view). I have to say though that everything was done professionally, well organized, and with good structure, even in the small changes she made to accommodate the intense course. She is very passionate as a teacher in every aspect and details. She also expects the same excellence from us, I like this quality in her. I felt calm and at ease as soon as I walked in. The view from the yoga shala is absolutely breathtaking. I loved the variety of classes and teachers, which means that there is something for everyone, seasoned yogis or complete beginners! Irana is so knowledgeable, patient, and generous with her teaching.     "The title transformational yoga teacher training truly sums up the program. The teacher training changed my life. I am grateful to have met such wonderful people in a beautiful place. The teachers are the most talented and compassionate yogis I've met. They inspired me to deepen my practice and embrace yoga as a way of life. They always made sure we were happy and they genuinely wanted us to learn and grow throughout the training. The accommodations were perfect, clean, comfortable, spacious, and conveniently located at a 5 to 10-minute walk from the yoga shala. The food was out of this world! I still dream about the lovely dishes that we ate. The chef is a genius. The yoga classes were phenomenal. They varied from Vinyasa, Yin, Transformational, Aerial, and more. I was never bored. The studio gives off peaceful vibes. Every time I walked into the Shala, I felt happy and relaxed. It is perched on top of a hill, so glass windows overlook a breathtaking view of mountains and sea.     "Peaceful studio with experienced teachers that provide an environment for you to go deeper into your practice. Each and every class is unique and I learned something new every time I was in the studio. There is a class everyday to suit what your body is craving, even the meditations and dance sessions. The aerial yoga on Saturdays is a challenging and uplifting experience, I fell in love with flying.The food for the course was simply divine, fresh ingredients and the creativity of the meals was amazing! The accommodations were very comfortable and well located. It was a short walk to the yoga shala, the beach, and to town. The view of the sea was beautiful and I loved waking up in the morning and doing my practice looking out the window and breathing the fresh sea air. For the entire three weeks, every need was taken care of so that I was able to concentrate on absorbing the yoga and lessons."

    "I can highly recommend Yoga Shala on Paros for every body! The place where is located it's beautiful and has really special and nice atmosphere. Just perfect to enjoy yoga!! Irana is very professional and helpful teacher and also very kind, friendly and beautiful person. She does many different kind of yoga classes, which I love very much because I'm free to choose what is my yoga mood of the day and I never get bored. My favorite is the Aerial yoga, which is amazing! She does many interesting and joyful workshops as well.
