During this training, you will stay either in a private or a shared room at the Sunrise Hotel Apartments. The hotel has a swimming pool, wonderful views, and is located just five minutes walk away from the yoga studio.

This program is intended for yoga practitioners who wish to deepen their personal growth and learn skills to use for the rest of their life and in daily life and for yoga teachers from all schools seeking a greater understanding of the full spectrum of yoga practices like asana, pranayama, meditation, Yogasutras, and mantras.

This program is also suited for yoga practitioners interested in building a firm foundation to teach yoga to people of all ages and fitness levels and those interested in a comprehensive base for the yoga therapy program.

During three weeks, when both 200 and 300 hours merge, both training’s will share the same self purification and classes and if you already know this teachings, you will deepen your knowledge but if you didn't train with Paros Yoga Shalla the first 200 hours you should get them. This teachings refer to the chakra system, sequencing, alignment, and teaching skills.

During these three weeks, those who are doing the 300 level will have other tasks than the 200 level trainees as part of the syllabus like learning and assisting in hands on alignment, karma yoga, Pratyahara practices, mudras, yoga therapeutics, pregnancy yoga, advanced pranayamas, and advanced meditation practices.

The last week, after the 200 trainees leave, you will be introduced to more advanced asanas, personal practice, teaching, business and studio management, as well as personal teaching and corporate yoga.

You will also enjoy beach classes three times per week along with a comprehensive program on achieving personal well-being through yoga and Ayurveda. This program will offer you a sound foundation in traditional yoga from Patanjali to Krishnamacharya combined with science and modern developments.

On successful completion of this course, you will have an understanding and appreciation of the principles of the science and art of yoga and an introduction to Ayurvedic principles and you will have developed a comprehensive knowledge of the theory of asanas, pranayama, and meditation.

You will also gain skill and confidence in the practice of asanas, pranayama, and meditation and understand the principles necessary to teach yoga in a safe and effective manner.

You will learn the art of sequencing and understand Vinyasa Krama, acquire the tools to enact positive changes in your own life and start on the part of providing the same guidance to others while having the opportunity to be a part of a community of people who are similarly committed to a path of personal growth and transformation at the same time.

This training is divided in two parts; during the first 11 days you will experience a process of self- purification through transformational yoga, an integral approach to physical health, emotional balance, and mental and spiritual clarity founded and created by Sri Swami Vidyanand, a renowned yoga master delving into an experience of embodiment through the Chakra system, the foundation of yoga.

This will be a personal transforming experience integrating all aspects of your being. During this period, you will also focus on alignment, anatomy, and physiology (chakras and the endocrine system) and you will discuss basic philosophy and theory of Hatha yoga as well.

  • Irana Ji An

    Irana Ji An Fouroulis is a senior yoga teacher who has been teaching yoga for more than a decade and living and practicing yoga for more than 20 years. She is the founder, owner, and director of Paros Yoga Shala and Paros Yoga Retreats and Workshops. Irana has dwelt in different lineages of yoga (Sivananda, Ashtanga, Hatha, Anusara, Jivamukti, Bhakti Flow, Prana, Vinyasa, Yin, therapeutics, and Integral) throughout her yoga-life journey. She is also a master meditation teacher and a pregnancy and kids yoga teacher. Irana focuses on chakra work, mantra, pranayama, yoga Nidra, and meditation.

This training will be held at Paros Yoga Shala in Naoussa, Greece. Naoussa is surrounded by orchards and vineyards and the area is as famous for its wine and jam as well as its annual international film festival.

During this training, you will be served three daily delicious meals. All meals will be locally sourced and vegetarian. In the evening, you will take a short walk to the beautiful Open Garden Restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner with chef Elda Molla.

Arrival by bus

A bus shuttles from Athens International Airport (ATH) arrivals to Piraeus Port for about 10 EUR every 20 minutes. Make sure to arrive at the airport before 12:00 p.m. so you can take the bus to the Piraeus Port and catch the 5:30 p.m. ferry to Paros.

Arrival by ferry

Boats depart daily from Piraeus at 7:25 a.m. and arrive to Paros at 11:40 a.m. and also at 5:30 p.m. arriving to Paros at 9:45 p.m.

    CONS Cons: Some of the yoga classes by Irana were very focused on chanting and mantra, which I am not used to. But since they offer different classes, I knew not all of them are this way. It' s ok, I guess, and out of curiosity and enthusiasm I attended all classes during the week, which broadened my yoga experience.

    PROS Pros: I really enjoyed the variety of yoga classes offered by Irana, Connie & other teachers at Yoga Shala Paros. You can go for every single one of them on the schedule, or choose the specific classes you want to try. I loved the vinyasa classes L3 mostly but also the Iyengar, aerial yoga and tai chi thaught by other teachers were great! Meditation is also offered several times throughout the week which is fantastic. The location of the yoga studio is close to the hotel where I was staying, so it' s comfortable to walk to and from classes. Breakfast and dinner is included in the package, which is nice. Dinner is at Open Garden restaurant and I had delicious vegetarian meal (salads, mushroom risotto, Greek starters as tatziki, aubergine dip every day. The chef seems to be flexible to your preferences and adjusts the meals (vegan, vegetarian, etc.). I had grilled fish one evening and grilled prawns another day which was tasty. Overall, I was very happy with the retreat, the yoga practice, accommodation and experiencing Paros!

    "When I choose Paros Yoga Shala I didn't know what to expect other than a beautiful island in Greece, but I have to say that my choice was an excellent one, from the accommodation to the amazing food, and Irana was the cherry on top of the cake. She has wisdom and great knowledge on yoga. I attend many workshops but her was my best so far. I got so much from her in more details. The transformation yoga program included the philosophy and science of the Buddhism culture, Chanty, and meditation is part of the program (it was not my favorite part, just from my personal view). I have to say though that everything was done professionally, well organized, and with good structure, even in the small changes she made to accommodate the intense course. She is very passionate as a teacher in every aspect and details. She also expects the same excellence from us, I like this quality in her.     "I came to Paros to have basic knowledge of yoga, yoga asana, adjusting of students. I did not plan to sing mantras and meditate for a long time. But this training appeared to be a bit different from expected. Of course we had active practices and a lot of necessary theory... But concentration was paid to the awareness of the body, to breathing, to relaxing. "

    "I undertook my 200-hour yoga teacher training here. I had the most incredible experience during my three weeks. The studio is so peaceful and has such a great energy.     "The title transformational yoga teacher training truly sums up the program. The teacher training changed my life. I am grateful to have met such wonderful people in a beautiful place. The teachers are the most talented and compassionate yogis I've met. They inspired me to deepen my practice and embrace yoga as a way of life. They always made sure we were happy and they genuinely wanted us to learn and grow throughout the training. The accommodations were perfect, clean, comfortable, spacious, and conveniently located at a 5 to 10-minute walk from the yoga shala. The food was out of this world! I still dream about the lovely dishes that we ate. The chef is a genius. The yoga classes were phenomenal. They varied from Vinyasa, Yin, Transformational, Aerial, and more. I was never bored.     "Peaceful studio with experienced teachers that provide an environment for you to go deeper into your practice. Each and every class is unique and I learned something new every time I was in the studio. There is a class everyday to suit what your body is craving, even the meditations and dance sessions. The aerial yoga on Saturdays is a challenging and uplifting experience, I fell in love with flying.The food for the course was simply divine, fresh ingredients and the creativity of the meals was amazing! The accommodations were very comfortable and well located. It was a short walk to the yoga shala, the beach, and to town. The view of the sea was beautiful and I loved waking up in the morning and doing my practice looking out the window and breathing the fresh sea air.     "Since I was a complete beginner I was looking for a perfect introduction to yoga. I did a lot of research on the internet and finally came across Irana's yoga shala. It had excellent reviews so I decided to sign up for the Integral Yoga Purification Program with her. After one week of yoga lessons, I feel very happy that I followed the recommendations. Irana is a great teacher and I am sure this yoga experience will have a sustainable effect on my health and overall well-being. Thank you, Irana."

    "Wow! Irana is an exceptional teacher. Her approach is so balanced and respectful, embodying all the elements of yoga. Irana herself is not only an inspiration but also a woman with deep and grounded philosophies of what it means to be human and to exist in the modern world. I experienced both precision of alignment and the freedom of flow at a level where my limits were not compromised at all, but where every potential could be reached. The aerial yoga is exhilarating, strengthening, and wonderfully playful and liberating. Irana is slow and careful in her teaching methods and respectful of personal limitations, making the class accessible to everyone who still believes in safe, controlled fun."

    "As for the studio, the simplicity of light, subtle, calming aroma and coolness, in a space which is large, spotlessly clean, and with the most amazing view of the sea and sky, go to make the whole experience invigorating and cleansing. Irana's attention to detail leaves absolutely nothing to be desired, from her sensitive choice of music to the lemon and ginger water she generously offers. I felt so light and full of joy on leaving the shala and will be sure to go back. Thank you Irana."

    "For many years I wanted to do yoga but hadn't find the right place. Now I'm so happy to have found wonderful Irana and her amazing space. The space is beautiful, sitting on a great location over looking the town of Naousa and the sea. You can choose the right kind of yoga for you and there are more classes and teachers that come to give classes in meditation, dance, Aerial yoga, and more.There is no need to say that I love learning with her and my body became stronger and happier. Thanks!"

    "I can highly recommend Yoga Shala on Paros for every body! The place where is located it's beautiful and has really special and nice atmosphere. Just perfect to enjoy yoga!! Irana is very professional and helpful teacher and also very kind, friendly and beautiful person. She does many different kind of yoga classes, which I love very much because I'm free to choose what is my yoga mood of the day and I never get bored. My favorite is the Aerial yoga, which is amazing! She does many interesting and joyful workshops as well. I have joined one until now, which was really great and I wish I could be there for all of them. I have been practicing yoga here only for a few months, but I feel this has made me addicted for life! Thank you Irana!"

    "Yoga with Irana is something different than what I experienced in a variety of classes all over Europe and Asia. Irana teaches from the heart for all different bodies it suits. It is not about flexibility but self balance. Irana can guide you perfectly!"

    "I consider myself to be extremely lucky for having this great place to practice. The view from the main room is just amazing and Irana has done a great work in creating a space that actually inspires and encourages you to keep up on your practice.     "Practicing yoga with Irana for the last five months has been a great enrichment to my life. It has improved very much my awareness for my body and not at least for my soul. Apart from being a great and experienced teacher, Irana is also a very lovely person with a lot of patience and understanding for her pupils."

    "I started training in yoga a couple of months ago but I have seen a lot of improvement in my body. Irana is a well trained teacher with many years of experience in yoga. She has different programs that can cover the needs of every person, from the unskilled trainee to the advanced yoga trainee. Furthermore, she alternates the sessions in order to keep the level of interest high. If you are a fan of yoga or you want to try something new during your stay in Paros, I definitely suggest Yoga Shalla."
