Join us at Parampara Yoga, Shanti Nilayam Mysore for 14 days submerged practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa, enjoy chanting meditations and pranayama and an afternoon two-hour class where we will teach Bandha, Ujayi, breath Drishti, simple anatomy, and philosophy. We will visit a Buddhist and a Hindu temples. Shanti Nilayam is a beautiful heritage house in this beautiful heritage city.

Accommodation

Shanti Nilayam is a 1930s traditional villa in Gokulam Mysore. The accommodation is provided in five garden cottages, based on two people sharing a private bathroom. One double room and one single room are also available in the main house.

All meals are served on the sunny shaded terrace, consisting of the best of local produce. Chill out in the garden or visit the local swimming pools at luxury resorts.

Program

The retreat will be 48 hours of yoga in total and will qualify for Yoga Alliance YACEP hours. Yoga Alliance 200-hour training is conducted over 30 days. Suitable all levels in a fun environment.

Immerse yourself in 14 days of Vinyasa yoga from the source, enjoy mantra meditation, asana, and pranayama each morning. The afternoon is a workshop style where we cover Bandha, Breath, Drishti, anatomy, and philosophy.

Daily schedule

  • 07:15 Morning two-hour Vinyasa practice starting with Japa mantra meditation and finish with pranayama
  • 09:30 Breakfast
  • 13:00 Lunch
  • 15:00 - 17:00 Afternoon two-hour classes, bandha, ujayi, drishti, meditation, pranayama, anatomy, and philosophy
  • 18:30 Dinner

Included excursions

Two-afternoon day trips will be provided including one to Somnatpur to the site of a very important architecturally and one of the best Indian temples from the 12th century and one to Bylakupe Tibetan golden temple and monastery.

The Heritage city of Mysore South India is the Jewel of India, where Krishnamacharya taught BKS Iyengar and KP Jois. Pleasant all year temperature of 18 to 38c.

Shanti Nilayam is a heritage villa in the upscale residential area of Gokulam where there are many food choices catering to all choices.

Mysore has one of the sacred hills 'Chamundi' and holy rivers Cauvery. The centre of the city is dominated by the beautiful Mysore Palace and surrounding Georgian architectural buildings, Mysore is considered the cleanest cities in India and completely safe for international visitors.

European, Indian, and Chinese home-cooked food lovingly prepared, mostly organic. All diets are cared for.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bangalore International Airport. Transfer from and to the airport is included. The organizer will arrange to pick you up from the airport.

For guests arriving from within India, Mysore is well connected by bus, train, and taxi.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 30 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
