MV Adventure

The Adventure is La Paz’s newest charter boat surpassing any other ship in its category. Originally built as a day cruiser, the Adventure underwent a live aboard conversion and started its international dive operation in September of 2011. What makes this ship unique and stand out among its competition is the professional input of its owners.

The owners are engineers and ship builders with 15 years of building, owning, and successfully operating charter boats in Cabo, San Lucas. It is with great pride that Panterra and the ship owners have partnered up to offer guests from around the world the best the Sea of Cortez has to offer.

The upper deck is ideal for wildlife viewing, relaxing with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and watching sunrises and sunsets in general group gatherings. Half the upper deck is covered so guests can be sheltered from the sun. The other half is not covered so guests can enjoy the sun.

One of the two accesses to the wheelhouse can be found forward of the upper deck. The bow offers a spacious area for a spectacular view of the sea and wildlife. Comfortable seating provides for a relaxing experience while underway. The companionway allows easy access to the bathrooms, showers, salon, and stern.

There are two separate bathroom facilities, one set for men and one set for women. Three showers are conveniently located in each bathroom facility. The salon is spacious, comfortable, and inviting. The entertainment area offers the comfort of home with a flat screen television that you can use to review the photos of the day.

The aft deck is designed for diving and snorkeling with benches and storage bins for guests. Thoughtfully designed to accommodate the needs of divers, snorkelers, and beachcombers, the swim grid also features two dive ladders. Steps away from the aft deck leading down to the swim grid makes it easy for getting on and off the ship, ideally designed for divers and snorkelers.

The stairs lead from the main deck salon to the lower deck cabins. Each stateroom bunk has its own reading lamp, plug in, and the mattresses are made of memory foam. The staterooms come equipped with air conditioning, sink, vanity, drawers, and cupboards for unpacking your suitcase.

November is a spectacular month to visit La Paz and cruise the Sea of Cortez. The crystal clear waters, sun-filled blue skies, and the beautiful warm temperature are a perfect blend for on board yoga, hiking, snorkeling, and wildlife encounters. Experiences like these are extraordinary and often life changing, leaving you with unforgettable memories of a lifetime.

"I just spent the most amazing time in the sea of Cortez with Panterra Eco Expeditions. We spent a week on the MV Adventure Island hopping, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, whale watching, and making friends. It was truly one of the most beautiful trips I have ever taken."

"It was a very easy trip to take. Lela has you plucked from the airport, safely delivered to La Paz, then you’re on the boat and having dinner while underway. I left Victoria B.C. at 10 a.m. and was having dinner in the Sea of Cortex by 7 p.m. It doesn’t get any easier than that. The crew on The MV Adventure were very professional, kind, and a lot of fun. The food was excellent!! Omar is the chef and he cooked up some amazing meals. With 15 plus people on the boat, there were some diet restrictions and he made sure everyone was taken care of weather you were a vegetarian or couldn’t have spices."

"Safety is a number one priority and there was a full time safety officer on board at all times. If we were snorkeling or hiking, he had his entire gear ready in case of an emergency. I found Guri to be extremely professional and he had a great deal of experience."

"We stayed all week on the boat then went to Magdalena bay to interact with the whales on the Pacific side. The scenery was breathtaking. Watching the whales with their babies was incredible. That was a fabulous day that included lunch on the Isla Margarita. The wonderful chef there made us a lobster and halibut lunch. "

"The next day we snorkeled with the whale sharks in the sea of Cortez out of La Paz. I had no idea these fish were such beautiful creatures and so docile. Absolutely a beautiful experience!! I can’t wait to go back."

"Lela is a phenomenal photographer and took hundreds of photos for us so that we did not have to be behind our cameras the entire time allowing us to truly enjoy the experience. She is a very gifted talented photographer."

"I have my own sail boat and I sail the Gulf Islands in British Colombia. It would take me 30 years to see all of the beauty I was fortunate enough to see with the Panterra Eco Expedition. I have done a lot of traveling all over the world and this trip was truly the most beautiful experience to date."

"I would highly recommend this trip!"

"This is my second trip with Panterra. It is the perfect balance of activities and utter relaxation. I loved every minute from the cool mornings sitting with your coffee on the bow of the boat to watch the sun rise, to sitting out on the upper deck sipping your wine as the sun sets relaxing after a day spent swimming with sea lions, mobula, stunning fish, and octopus. The ability to disconnect from our fast paced world to follow whales and dolphins is priceless. The only hardship was finding time for a nap when there was too much to see. "

"The crew of the boat were caring, skilled, and above all made sure you were safe and well taken care of. The food was excellent and I miss being greeted in the afternoons with our tray of fresh fruit, snacks, and the drink of the hour. Lela documented our trip in pictures and introduced us to the sea and bird life, the salt flats, and the local communities. Her charitable work and connection with the people is evident. "

"We had all of our needs met from the moment we were picked up at our hotel until we were delivered at the airport for our flight home. Our group was made up of people ranging from their early 20's to somewhere in their middle age and all would go back and do it again. "

"Bring a hat, sunscreen, beach towel and multiple bathing suits because your going to be swimming multiple times a day."

"Panterra offers several different experiences that allow visitors to learn about the wonderful marine life of the sea of Cortez through active and up-close encounters. We were able to snorkel in two different areas, one of which had an abundance of whale sharks, while the other allowed us to see sea lions up close, along with an impressive variety of brightly colored fish. Before this, we were able to camp for two nights on an island in Magdalena Bay, and go out in small boats to see and interact with mother grey whales and their 'babies', as they prepared for the long trip north. This was a rare and wonderful experience, made even better by the knowledge and enthusiasm of Lela and her crew, who made everyone feel at home. Meals were outstanding, too!"

"We recently finished an amazing dive trip through Panterra. The trip was geared toward more advanced divers, but as a less experienced diver, there were still more than enough dives that I could participate in and enjoy. We went diving with the sea lions, went on a couple of wreck dives, and saw wonderful sea life from sea turtles to sea cucumbers. We had an opportunity to snorkel with whale sharks, had dolphins play at the bow of the boat as well as had opportunity for kayaking, and bird watching excursions. And if you didn't want to dive, there were snorkel adventures as well as just relaxing in the sun on the boat. The crew took excellent care of us while we were diving as well as while cruising around on the boat, from the delicious meals to that extra special birthday drink to a hand up the stairs at the end of a tiring dive. They are a great team that operates like a well oiled machine!"

"We recently spent spring break in the Cabo San Lucas and La Paz area without a doubt the highlight of the trip was swimming with the Whale Sharks near La Paz and also the Espiritu Tour the following day. The tour guides were very informed and pleasant and spent a good deal of time describing the details of the local marine environment. It was a fantastic educational experience for the adults and kids. Definitely a great experience and would recommend it for any age."

"On my first trip with Panterra Eco-Expeditions, I had no idea what to expect. I was ignorant to the fact that my life was to be changed forever. Panterra not only offers a chance to get away from the cold, but to experience nature and all of its magnificent creatures close up. There is no feeling in the world like watching a humpback whale breech out of the ocean, or being surrounded by thousands of dolphins jumping and playing. Not only does Panterra offer a chance to experience this, but it also provides the knowledge and respect of what you are experiencing. Lela not only runs this program so beautifully and brilliantly but she puts her whole heart into it. I have been blessed to have her as a mentor and hope to follow in her footsteps. Thank you Lela!"

"Dear Lela, thank you so much for having me on the eco expeditions trip. I learned so much and it really was the best thing i have ever experienced. It may sound cheesy, but you made a huge impact on my life and my parents think you may have shaped me and changed me in a way. Experiencing this was a dream of mine and you made it come true. You were such a postive person and I have never ever met someone like that. You are just an amazing person to be around, and for you to give the whole group an experience like that was just so sincere. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know I will be back again and i miss you and the trip already. I saw marine life that was not in a marine park which was truly crazy! I made new friendships and it really truly made me decide that I will go along with my career choice I want to pursue. Marine biology is something I could talk about for hours. So thank you Lela, you truly helped me in so many ways that you may not even realize. I will be back as soon as I can!"
