"My personal journey with this approach to painting has been an incredible gift. Expressing freely with images and colors, I have reawakened the artist I left behind in childhood, decoded mysteries from dream-like imagery, and developed a thirst for openness and wholeness in my life," says Montine, an artist, certified intuitive painting facilitator and transformational coach. Montine and a team of assistants lead classes, workshops, retreats, and coaching to individuals, private groups, organizations, and companies across the United States and abroad.
To prepare for this work, Montine earned a degree in human and organizational development from the Vanderbilt University, a master in international business from The Moore School of Business, and completed a two-year transformational process painting certification program thirteen years ago. Since then, she has continued her studies applying the teachings of "The Artists Way" by Julia Cameron, Art is a Way of Knowing by Pat Allen, "Life, Paint and Passion" co-authored by Michele Cassou and Stewart Cubley, and "Point Zero" by Michele Cassou.
Montine has led executive training with Accenture, built four successful businesses of her own, executed a global social media launch for a publicist group client, and delivered entrepreneurial coaching via Ladies Who Launch Southeast Regional Leader for several years.
She also provides transformational coaching, having studied both with the Life Coaching Institute and Immunity to Change Harvard courses with the authors Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey.
This retreat will take place in Il Colombaio di Momo, a restored seventeenth century farmhouse overlooking the Tuscan hills in Montisi, Italy. Set among olives and cypress, it is fully private and only a 10-minute walk from Montisi.
As an ancient village, Montisi has wildly rich history, full of stories of politics, plunder, and competitive jousting traditions. In the 1970s, the first tourists arrived, attracted by the alternatives from the more frequented tourist hotspots, and the development of a world-class wine industry nearby. Olive oil became a staple of the local economy, and indeed some of Italy's most highly prized oil producers are based in Montisi and the nearby villages. The abandoned farmhouses, and the empty apartments in the centers of small villages, slowly took on a new life, as "foreigners" from other parts of Italy and the rest of the world sought the peace and tranquility of this extraordinary landscape, either as a stimulus for their own creative lives, or as a rest from their activities elsewhere. Montisi now boasts shops, places to stay, a 100 seat cinema, 70 seat historic live theater, artists' workshops, a music school, quite a few places to eat and drink, and a thriving local economy. The changing face of a village that within living memory had been reduced to just over two hundred inhabitants is now the liveliest spot in the area and a magnet for locals and visitors alike.

"Another amazing find that I want to keep all to myself, but that wouldn't be fair! I was looking for an artistic experience to help me set my creative side free. Montine's Source Painting Workshop has truly been a gift. Through the process, I've been able to better understand my "edges" and face them with direct action. With Montine as the watchful guide, the experience has been nothing less than transformative. Montine is a rare find. She is smart, intuitive, caring, compassionate, inspiring. She provides a safe and inviting atmosphere where one can safely push their boundaries. Highly recommended!"

"I just loved this studio. I was looking for an adult water color class, and was instead lead to the vision board class. It was such a pleasant surprise. Montine is an excellent facilitator for these classes; her sweetness and warmth make everyone feel comfortable, and I learned a lot about myself during our short three visit sessions. Long story even longer, I highly recommend this studio to anyone who is looking to make their life a little richer. Lots of love for this studio! Go!"

"I just completed the Dream Mapping course with Montine and four other amazing women, and it has been so empowering. I loved this course, and Montine is amazing in creating a wonderful and open environment to explore our dreams. This was such a great space, and I love that she is so incredibly talented as a guide as well as an artist. Just looking at her work made me feel like I could explore my inner painter. This course is definitely worth taking!"
