During the retreat, mornings, afternoons, and some evenings will include Intuitive Painting, restorative yoga and stretching, a wine tasting, hillside walks, and lots of laughter. Participants report feeling a powerful release, rich sense of rebirth, and deep realignment to what is important and sustaining in life.
For some of you, it may have been decades since you painted. It will be surprising to you how quickly you will reconnect with the joy playing with colors and following the fun. For others, you may make art for a living, and are feeling the need to begin making art for yourself again. However you arrive, the time spent in mindful creative bliss and exploration will result in joyful, colorful accidents and the appearance of mysterious figures and shapes that do wonderful things for our brains. We get to surprise ourselves, invite imagination to rule for a while, experience life passing peacefully by, and remember how it feels to just to be.
The simplest definition of Intuitive Painting is “free, intuitive expression through the medium of paint.” It is you expressing you, in the powerful, innocent way a child expresses her- or himself but with the added depth of a lifetime of experiences. It is not so much about creating something as it is about releasing what blocks you from your ability to express your true self and your natural creativity. The power and purpose of Intuitive Painting is simply to bypass emotional and energy blocks in the “inner artist” and open up channels of innate creativity and authentic emotional self-expression.
These sessions invite you to explore with pure creative freedom and express authentically using paint on life-sized easels. By focusing on the process not the product, we let go of perfection, comparison, and control and start trusting our intuition, both inside the studio and out.
Practicing raw expression through the medium of paint, we release, restore, and ground ourselves; we can swiftly process emotional blocks; and we reconnect to sacred wisdom, making way for clarity and new possibilities.
Participants of Intuitive Painting experience connection with their own creative imagination, a feeling of rejuvenation, and a deeper sense of connection with themselves.
The practice of Intuitive Art allows you to be intimate and compassionate with yourself, know your deepest needs, and learn to love and treat yourself better. Making art in this way is an amazing tool for discovering your joys, your fears, your wisdom, your self-talk and your blocks. What you bring to the canvas highlights what you bring into your life, how you show up in relationship with yourself, how you hinder or shame yourself, how you get stuck in comparison or perfection, and how you can get around these blocks with new paradigms, trust and practice.
The price of this retreat includes a visit to a wine cellar with wine tasting.

This retreat will take place in Il Colombaio di Momo, a restored seventeenth century farmhouse overlooking the Tuscan hills in Montisi, Italy. Set among olives and cypress, it is fully private and only a 10-minute walk from Montisi.
As an ancient village, Montisi has wildly rich history, full of stories of politics, plunder, and competitive jousting traditions. In the 1970s, the first tourists arrived, attracted by the alternatives from the more frequented tourist hotspots, and the development of a world-class wine industry nearby. Olive oil became a staple of the local economy, and indeed some of Italy's most highly prized oil producers are based in Montisi and the nearby villages. The abandoned farmhouses, and the empty apartments in the centers of small villages, slowly took on a new life, as "foreigners" from other parts of Italy and the rest of the world sought the peace and tranquility of this extraordinary landscape, either as a stimulus for their own creative lives, or as a rest from their activities elsewhere. Montisi now boasts shops, places to stay, a 100 seat cinema, 70 seat historic live theater, artists' workshops, a music school, quite a few places to eat and drink, and a thriving local economy. The changing face of a village that within living memory had been reduced to just over two hundred inhabitants is now the liveliest spot in the area and a magnet for locals and visitors alike.
The price of this retreat includes three daily Italian gourmet meals prepared by Chef Marco Gualtieri, an authentic Italian chef. In addition to their home-prepared meals, there are quaint eateries and local food shops within walking distance of the retreat location. Dietary restrictions are honored.
Explore the region by bike, ask for referrals, or engage a tour guide to take you on a particularly scenic route.
You can drive to Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino in 15 or 20 minutes; to Siena, Cortona or Arezzo in 45 minutes; an hour to Perugia, a bit more to Assisi, and an hour and a half to Florence. The medieval town of Montisi is a 10-minute walk from the house, and there are many agricultural roads that provide easy walking in all directions. Each season paints the landscape in a different palette.
For an additional cost, you can book a massage therapy.
