Poinciana Resort is the perfect venue for up to 35 people. It has several workshop spaces, both air-conditioned and open-air, as well as terraces that are perfect for doing early morning or sunset yoga and group activities. The intimate setting provides an excellent atmosphere that fosters communication and positive group dynamics.

It is hard to imagine a more perfect setting for a retreat, destination wedding, or a special celebration than the lush gardens of Poinciana on the shores of the Bali Sea. Poinciana Resort has two air-conditioned guests room unit types available. One is a shared room with two twin beds and the other is a shared or single room with one queen-sized bed.

The retreat will be held at Poinciana Seaside Resort and Retreat Centre located on the north-east coast of Bali. North Bali is dotted with quiet seaside villages that are far off the tourist track. This area is home to some of the best snorkeling and diving spots on the island, featuring unique black sand beaches. Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Padmani will pick you up from the airport.

On March 24, Padmani will pick you up from the airport or the town of Ubud, if you choose to come early to explore on your own. The shuttle will arrive at the airport during the late morning or the early afternoon. Padmani will do their best to minimize the carbon footprint and so you may be asked to wait for up to an hour for others to land.

Seasonal information

The rainy season will be ending as you arrive. Northern Bali receives less rain than Ubud and the south Bali.

Dressing information

Please wear yoga appropriate clothing. You may wear t-shirts, tank tops, and shorts just to stay cool, comfy, and casual. You will also need long sleeve top, long pants, and a light sweater for night time.

What to bring

Passport, camera, notebook, journal, pens, sleepwear, swimwear, rainwear, sandals, sneakers, sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, toiletries, supplements, prescription medications, bug repellant, reusable water bottle, flashlight, and electrical adaptor

Travel assistance

Please send your flight details to Padmani as soon as you have them and please do not forget to update if the airline changes your arrival or departure time.

If you prefer to be picked up in Ubud, please let Padmani know the name and the address of your hotel well in advance. You will be sent an email specifying time and place of your pick-up, the names of the other participants riding with you, and contact information for the retreat center, in case your plans shift at the last moment and you need to reach Padmani.

Passport / visa

Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months after your planned date of departure from Indonesia. Canadians do not need to pay for a Bali travel visa as we fall within a visa exemption. However, travelers who plan to stay for longer than 30 days should apply for a Visa on Arrival when they land at Denpasar Airport. The cost is currently 35 USD.


Some doctors recommend Hepatitis A and Typhoid immunization for travel to Indonesia.

Local expenses / money information

Both Indonesian rupiahs and US Dollars are accepted in Bali. The retreat center also accepts Visa, Mastercard, and debit cards, though you will pay an additional 3% for credit card and debit transactions. If you plan to use your credit cards or debit, please notify the bank of your travel plans in advance.

Agung volcano climbing expedition

For the more intrepid, climb Bali’s highest and most sacred volcano with an experienced guide to watch the sunrise over the spectacular panorama. This tour takes 12 hours and starts at 01:30 in the morning.

Bali cultural excursion

Discover the inner workings of Balinese society and way of life. Visit farms, plantations, traditional homes and learn about natural sea salt production in the area.

Sunrise dolphin watching boat cruise

Take a traditional jukung out to join the dolphins for a spectacular sunrise off the north coast. Spotted dolphins, spinner dolphins, and bottle-nosed dolphins are among the species in the area.

Bali offering making class and a visit to Tajun Temple or Ponjok Batu Temple

Learn to make your own canang sari offering, the most prolifically made and thus important rituals in Balinese life. Then take your canang sari as an offering to Tajun Temple, one of the oldest and powerfully spiritual temple sites in Bali.

Banjar hot springs and Buddhist temple tour

See the largest Bhuddist temple in Bali. See the Kekeran rice terrace, then Immerse yourself in the therapeutic hot springs.

Bedugul tour

See Git Git waterfall and visit the Bedugul traditional market. Then it is on to see the Pacung rice terrace and a stop for lunch (not included). The last stop is Pura Ulun Danu, also known as the “floating temple”.

Sekumpul waterfall excursion

Touted as Bali’s most beautiful waterfall, ‘Sekumpul’ means ‘a collection of’ as it’s actually made up of several waterfalls in the same area from as high as 80 meters, nestled in a pristine jungle environment. If you are adventurous, strong, and brave, the effort to get there will certainly pay off. This excursion is not recommended for those with respiratory, heart, joint or back problems. The Sekumpul Waterfall excursion is not offered during the rainy season.

Ubud tour

The Ubud tour starts with a tour of the coffee plantation and your chance to experience ‘kopi luwak’, a unique coffee in the world.
