During this retreat, you will be accommodated at Camp Unalayee.

Mornings will be held in silence and begin with yoga and meditation, followed by breakfast and a quiet hike. Lunch will be either on the trail or back at camp. The afternoon options include arts and crafts, creative writing, meditation, swimming in the lake or even taking a nap. The choice is yours. After dinner, its time for meditation around a campfire, an evening talk, and return to silence until after breakfast the next morning.

  • Heidi Bourne

    Heidi Bourne is a mindfulness meditation teacher and writer, and has been leading groups since 2005 in both private and in professional settings. She holds certification in Mindfulness Facilitation through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center, and is a periodic guest teacher at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Heidi has a background in nursing and has been a small business owner in Arcata, California for nearly 30 years. In her spare time, she and her husband, Bill, get out into the wilds hiking, backpacking, and exploring.

This retreat will take place in the stunning Trinity Alps of Northern California, USA combining wilderness adventure, and contemplative practice. At 6400 feet, enjoy being nestled in the beautiful 400-acre alpine lake basin of Camp Unalayee, just six hours north of San Francisco.

Surrounded by rugged peaks and saw-tooth ridges, get to be one with nature by living outside and camping under the stars. Dozens of jewel-like lakes, and clear-flowing streams are within easy hiking distance of the camp basin, providing destinations for day-hikes, swimming, and solitude.

All meals and snacks are included in the price. enjoy fresh vegetarian meals with accommodation for those with dietary limitations. Please be aware that this retreat will be free of recreational drugs or alcohol.

Please book your flight to arrive at Redding Municipal Airport (RDD) and Arcata-Eureka Aiport (ACV), California, or Rogue Valley International–Medford Airport (MFR).

Upon arrival at the Camp’s gated private road, Campers will be greeted by the Camp staff who will drive all personal gear into Camp while everyone enjoys the leisurely 4- mile walk in.
