Leh Ladakh is a region located in the northern region of the Indian Himalayas. Known for cities such as Leh and for the various yoga retreats in Ladakh, this magical town has a strong Buddhist influence and Tibetan culture. You are sure to find adventure in this beautiful region!
You will be accommodated for 1-night in Delhi, Ashok country resort. While the other night at Goba Homestay in Leh, Likir, Lamayuru, Diskit, and Panamik. You will be staying at Homestay, it is simple, neat, and clean accommodation.
Please note that a 1-night accommodation in Delhi is included in the price. However, you will have to arrange and pay for your own meals in Delhi. For more information on your accommodation in Leh, Ladakh, please send an inquiry to Open Lotus Yoga.
After your arrival in Delhi, Open Lotus Yoga will meet you up and give you all the information about the trip. You will have the opportunity to tour Delhi with Open Lotus Yoga guide. The next morning fly to the city of Leh, the start of your inspirational trip.
Please note that only 1-night accommodation in Delhi is included in the price. However, meals in Delhi are not included in the price. You will have to arrange your own meals.
Your early morning flight brings you in a little more than one-hour to Leh, where you have a free day to acclimate to the high altitudes. You can enjoy the traveler-friendly environment, the old town with an imposing Tibetan-style palace, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of your hotel room/guest house.
On the third day, Open Lotus Yoga will accompany you on a walk to visit the Shanti Palace and the Leh Palace, navigated by the local guide. He will tell you about the history of the area. Afterward, you will enjoy an evening stroll in the local market. It will be a busy day. In the evening, you can enjoy some rest in the hotel room/guest house.
Morning yoga class. After breakfast, you will drive to Hemis: a monastery and museum. You will then drive to Thiksey where you will have lunch. After lunch, you will then go to another monastery, They Palace, where you will practice evening mediation. Night in Leh.
Morning yoga class. After breakfast, you will leave for Stock Palace and the local village. You will spend time in the village interacting with the locals and learn about their daily lives and culture. One can enter a family house to partake in tea and discuss their everyday life or go on a trek to a nearby mountain. You will drive back to Leh in the evening. Night in hotel.
Leh has a fairly short drive to Likir in Ladakh, where you'll visit the village and the local monastery. The scenery has breathtaking views over the valley and there’s a monk school opposite the monastery. The monastery is the ideal setting for a meditation session. Afterward, you will spend the night in a homestay with a local family.
You will go to Lamayuru. There, you will meditate in the local Monastery. You visit the village and once again and visit the local people in the homestay.
You drive back to Leh from Lamayuru. On the way back, you will stop to attend the morning Puja in the Alchi monastery.
After an early breakfast, you will drive the Khardung La: the highest road system in the world. It’s a 5359-meter high mountain pass in the northwest Himalayas. You will pass through Khasar and continue to Diskit. In Diskit, we stretch your legs and visit the monastery. Afterward, you continue to Hunder. Not by motorized traffic this time because you will have a six kilometers walk on the sand dunes next to the Shyok or "the River of Death".
Once in Hunder, you'll be able to see the contrast of the green village with the arid and desolate surroundings. After your visit, you return to Diskit where you will spend the night.
You will depart from Diskit to discover Panamik, a large settlement at the bank of the Nubra Valley where we will kick off the visit with meditation or yoga. You will then relax and soak in the natural hot sulfur spring baths. This will feel wonderful after all of that driving.
After you meditate and/or enjoy a yoga session, you will travel back to Leh where you will check in and enjoy a free afternoon.
You fly back to Delhi. You will have free time in the city and access to hotel rooms for day-use only until it is time to depart for the airport for final departures. It will be hard to say goodbye but Open Lotus Yoga would be sure about one thing, that after this tour you will never need to look for other yoga retreats in Ladakh.
You are going to visit old monasteries such as Hemis, Thiksey, Shey Palace, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Stok Palace, Likir Monastery, 1000-year-old Alchi monastery, and Lamayuru. You will be crossing the world highest motorable road Khardingla pass and enjoy Camel ride in Nubra valley. You will also visit traditional villages and culture of Ladakh called the Little Tibet.
Born and raised in Vashist, Chhape knows the locals and the environment like the back of his hand. He built up a wide expertise as a guide, covering the whole country of India. During this time, he adopted his ability to create a perfect trip based on the personal preferences of the travelers he accompanied. His sense of humor is widely acknowledged and he loves to make use of his organizational skills. He has also been practicing yoga since 2007. He is a Hatha yoga teacher, teaches pranayama (breathing techniques), gentle yoga asana, and is a practicing Thai yoga massage.
Yogi Ganesh learned yoga from his father and other yoga teachers from different places and gurus at Vashisht and Rishikesh. He is an expert in meditation techniques, the art of pranayama. He is also a good mountain trekking guide. He has done so many high altitude treks Manali and Ladakh. He teaches yoga in the different parts of the Himalayas and high mountain places. He is teaching yoga in camping and trekking and also in different places.
During this holiday, you will be served with Indian homemade food in Leh. Please note that meals in Delhi are not included in the price.
