Relaxing Yoga and Meditation Retreat in Spain

This retreat allows you time to deepen your yoga practice, enjoy a range of activities, focus on your inner self-development, giving yourself the chance for a significant change in your physical health, mental well-being, and emotional happiness. The program includes 19 hours of yoga and meditation classes, wellness sessions, and holistic workshops. During your staying you can also relax at the beaches of Gran Canaria, go surfing, or enjoy one of the four excursions included in the package.

Accommodation

You will be provided with 7 nights accommodation at Mahalo Healthy House, a spacious house in the center of Las Palmas.

Mahalo Healthy House offers accommodation with free WiFi and flat-screen TV, as well as a shared lounge.

The house is managed by Alessia Martuscielli, a vegan and vegetarian chef, a writer, photographer and surfer. In the morning you will be welcomed by the flavors and aromas of vegan / organic breakfasts prepared directly with her hands.

You will explore breathing techniques and asanas in order to generate physical and mental strength, all accompanied by a final deep relaxation. Each lesson will be structured based on the needs of the individual participants.

Yin Yoga

The asanas are maintained for longer generally between two and five minutes, but always on the ground and in total safety. By holding the positions, you allow access to the connective tissue increasing flexibility. This connection between body and mind allows you to open yourself to a path of greater freedom of choice and awareness of the present moment.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is an ideal practice for reducing stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Traditionally it has been said that an hour of Yoga Nidra equals to four hours of ordinary sleep. Yoga Nidra practices on this retreat will take place outdoors, in silence, under the starry sky.

Mindfulness eating

You will use some of the breakfasts proposed to explore the awareness of food, its origin and its meaning, deepening psychological and evocative aspect of eating. Your breakfast will also be organic and vegetarian.

Mindfulness in nature

Practice mindfulness in open spaces: along a path, by the sea, in the sand dunes for a deeper connection with the natural environment through increased sensory awareness.

Included excursions

You will explore the local attractions with guided tours and nature walks, the city of Agaete, the lighthouse, the gothic cathedral, the marvelous dunes of Mas Palomas, the home of Christopher Columbus. You will also be able to snorkel in the beautiful Playa de Tufia and visit the old town of Vagueta. Kindly note that excursions may vary depending on weather conditions.

Food

During this retreat, you will be provided with organic, vegan, and gluten-free breakfast buffet. The meals primarily uses buckwheat flour, brown cane sugar and rice malt, fruit, dried fruit and seasonal vegetables from the island. One closing dinner is also included.

Massages such as deep tissue, Swedish, aromatherapy, and remedial are available at an extra cost.

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

The house is about 26 kilometres from the Gran Canary airport and it can be reached by the bus 60 which leaves directly from the parking lot.

Once you arrive at the Sant’Elmo main station stop, the house is only a 5-minutes walk away, on Calle Domingo j Narro 10.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
