Shambhala Petite is one of the most desired private properties offering casita and a yoga shala on the pristine beachfront. There are 10 beautiful casitas available, first come first served. With names like Ganesh, Krishna, Nataraj, Satya, and Radha, you know you will be right at home.

Two premium casitas offer the largest space and exceptional views. Deluxe casitas offer a king bed or two twin beds and private bathroom. Casita Krishna has two beds and shared bathroom. This casita is offered for the budget conscious and only two spaces are available. All casitas offer air conditioning.

Karlie and Sheila will hold space for you to return to the essence of being and to recognize heartfelt direction and purpose. As routines and responsibilities fall away, you may also begin to feel a quiet peacefulness that otherwise goes unnoticed.

Each day will include yoga practice, guided meditation, and the opportunity to restore with Nidra yoga (deep relaxation), all in a studio overlooking the Caribbean Sea. As the outer momentum and noise begin to subside, meditation will offer space for reflection. You will have generous periods of time to be both on your own and in the warmth of community. In the spaces between, you may choose to rest and replenish alongside the turquoise waters and sandy shores of the Caribbean Ocean or enjoy a massage or two.

You are free to explore the different beaches in the area. There are many an easy ride or even a walk from the resort or simply relax on your private beach listening to the ever-present rhythm of the waves and enjoying nature in all its splendor. After an easy 90-minute drive, you will arrive at your beach paradise. The first meal included in your retreat is dinner, but should you arrive early, you can order some light fare off the restaurant menu and take an ocean swim. Check out time is anytime before noon on the last day.

Retreat location

Shambhala Petit lies on a secluded road with its own dramatic beach and private cover. Should you wish to retreat into a world of your own, the resort is self-contained, but with plenty of opportunities to explore the unique offerings of the Riviera Maya and its ancient, mysterious culture. You will be there during one of the most beautiful times of year when the temperatures range from 78 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and the water is warm yet refreshing.

Riviera Maya

The Maya Tulum Resort is 90 miles south of Cancun on the Caribbean coast of Northeast Mexico known as the Riviera Maya, a verdant area bordered by a pristine blue ocean and emerald-green tropical forests and jungles. The world’s second longest reef stretches from Quintana Roo to Honduras with miles of some of the best beaches in the Western Hemisphere. The Riviera Maya is home to tranquil sea coves, bays, lagoons, caves, cenotes, and other landmarks that are vestiges of a culture thousands of years old.

The influence of ancient Mayan culture on the Yucatan Peninsula makes this area unlike any other in Mexico. The resort is located just a few miles from the ruins of the Thirteenth-century pyramid El Castillo (the castle) that provide a breathtaking view of the sea crashing below. Tulum boasts an unspoiled native village that is a refreshing contrast to the tourist towns farther north.
