Reconnecting through music and yoga

Immerse yourself in community, connect through music and deepen your yogic practice. Set in the jungle of Puerto Morelos, our 9-Day retreat guides you on a journey of Yoga, Tantra, Ayurveda, and ceremonial rituals.

Each day is structured around one of the Great Elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Ether). We will teach you different ceremonial practices, yoga, and music relevant to the particular element on that day. Using your very own songbook we will join together in opening our hearts and connecting with the Great Spirit.

Every day starts with a morning practice of Yoga, chanting, meditation, and breathwork, followed by daytime workshops/talks, evening ceremonies, and regular singing circles.

  • Day 1: Welcome day - Temazcal & Alter creation.
  • Day 2: Earth element - Shaker Workshop & Cacao ceremony.
  • Day 3: Water element - Cenote excursion & Sound Bath.
  • Day 4: Fire element - Sacred fire-building workshop & Puja ceremony.
  • Day 5: Air element - Smudging workshop, primal movement class & breath-work ceremony.
  • Day 6: Ether element - Space movement & Bhakti ceremony.
  • Day 7: Perception (Sound) - Yantra Worksop & Bhuta Ceremony.

The ashram offers two bungalows that can welcome one or two guests (couples) in each room. They also have the option of four studios in the jungle that can host a single or double accommodation. Rooms and indoor practice areas are provided with mosquito nets to protect you from the environment.

Through the practices of yoga, music, Ayurveda, and sacred ceremonies, you will leave with a deeper understanding of how to reconnect to both yourself and the natural world. During this process, you will receive a toolkit of rituals and practices that will continually serve to empower and rebalance you after the retreat. Get ready to reconnect with yourself and your new tribe, supported by the Mahabhutas (the 5 great elements) and the music that ties it all together.

Each day, we are going to focus your work on one of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether) plus sound and vibration. Applying the magic of music to connect with the self and the greatness of life.

Example daily schedule

  • Mornings start with a series of Kriyas and yoga practices to connect with the element of the day.
  • Ayurvedic breakfast is served after the practice. Packed with fresh local fruits, cereals, seeds, and nuts.
  • Afternoon session starts with a casual lesson to keep up with the intention of the day, followed by a workshop and musical practices to deepen your understanding of the elements in your life (accompanied by some healthy snacks and mid-day beverages).
  • Evenings are spent creating and enjoying an Ayurvedic heart-warming dinner, followed by a healing ceremony to close up the day and prepare you for rest.

The first day, you will arrive at a welcoming circle at the Sacred Fire. After you will participate in a Temazcal Ceremony, a traditional practice to clean yourselves and place an intention for the rest of the week. Following this, you will have a family dinner and at the end of the day, you are going to build the altar for the retreat.

The rest of the week will be filled with several practices including Kriyas, yoga, music, workshops, and a handful of ceremonies that will help you to deeply understand the impact of the elements and how you can use and interpret them in your daily lives. All of this to get you to the closing day where you are going to have another Temazcal Ceremony with the intention of celebration and transformation, mixed with a full day of joy, music, and dance!

What will you learn?

  • Basic understanding of the 5 elements
  • How to integrate the elements into your daily life
  • Songs and chants specific to each element
  • How to create a sacred ceremony for each element
