During this retreat, you will stay in excellent hotels that are carefully hand picked, along the way to Santiago de Compostela.

Parador de Tui

On your first night, you will stay at Parador de Tui. The historic city of Tui is located where Galicia borders Portugal, with the Miño River as the main feature in the green landscape. The Parador is in the center of the city. It is a faithful reproduction of a Galician country house in a mountainous river environment in the Baixo Miño district.

The hotel is the perfect place to enjoy river sports such as canoeing and other outdoor activities. The decoration in different color tones creates an ideal atmosphere in which to relax and get away from it all.

Parador de Pontevedra

On your second night, you will stay at Parador de Pontevedra. Once the residence of the counts of Maceda, the Parador is located in the old quarter of the magnificent city of Pontevedra. You will be welcomed by a stately carved stone staircase leading to comfortable guest rooms.

The building is decorated with antiques and very valuable classic furniture. It combines regal, noble, and stately styles with charming rural elements. The surrounding area invites you to visit coves and beaches, and to enjoy fine seafood and excellent wine.

Torre do Rio

On your third night, you will stay at Torre do Rio. It is located in a 10,000-square meter area designed to help you unwind and relax. Just over one kilometer from Caldas, one of the most traditional spa towns, their staff has everything ready to spoil you. Let yourself be carried away by the intimate atmosphere enveloping you, and give yourself the time you deserve and which your everyday life makes impossible.

Torre do Río itself is a restored textile complex dating from the 18th century, bathed by a meander of the Umia River, and surrounded by nature in the purest Galician style. Everything seems conceived for experiencing the tranquility and harmony of an almost magical setting.

Hotel Rua Villar

On your last two nights, you will stay at Rua Villar. It is a charming hotel located in the historic center of Santiago de Compostela, just 15 meters from the Cathedral. This eighteenth century manor house was converted into a family hotel in 2004 after a careful rehabilitation. You still can see the original features, such as wooden beams or the impressive skylight, which is full of light inside the building.

In the hotel, you will be able to enjoy their permanent art gallery with works of the most renowned Spanish artists as Miró and Tàpies. You are invited to discover a very personal concept hotel with a careful customer service and an exceptional location that allows you to walk to all the attractions of Santiago.

During this retreat, you will have a yoga class every morning, and then you will walk to complete your journey along the the Portuguese way of Camino de Santiago. You do not have to worry about logistics, as Manuel, your local guide from ArtNatura, will be all the time with you, and there will also be a support vehicle for luggage ready for any eventuality.

In the afternoon, you will arrive at comfortable hotels to replenish your energy for the next day. This trip is perfect for all levels of yoga and trekking experience. Come solo, as a couple, or with friends.

Reasons to walk the Camino de Santiago

The physical way is one, the one you will walk, but the personal one is unique, is that you will be challenged to do and will be with you for a lifetime. It is like living a small life in a few days, with a beginning and end, with meetings, and with good days and not so good ones. It is a way to meditate in movement.

There are many ways to walk it and lots of reasons to do it. The one that Omm Retreats is proposing here is not the classic journey for weeks and to sleep in shelters. What you will do is yoga every morning and then, you will walk for about five hours every day to your next destination. You do not have to carry your backpack and you will arrive to comfortable hotels to replenish your energy. This is a practical way walk and do yoga, two in one.

The program of this trip includes two hours of daily yoga and meditation. The yoga sessions are designed for everyone, from beginners to advanced. All hotels where you will be staying at have a private space to practice yoga. In the morning before breakfast, you will contact with your body wisely, balancing the nervous system with a series of pranayama (breathing), asanas (postures), mantras, and meditation.

The techniques used depend on the day, it will generally be a mixture of Kundalini, Hatha, Yin yoga, and Samatha meditations, focused on the present moment. By doing this, you will focus on the daily walking with awareness, making a full and joyful camino (way).
