It is a series of physical and mental exercises transmitted by Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, Japanese Shinto priest and founder of the California Institute for Human Sciences, who dedicated his life and efforts to study physiological psychology. In the last 20 years he and his colleagues have discovered the existence of an energy system that travels through the body's connective tissues. This energy system in the ancient books of acupuncture is known as the meridian system. In Western medicine, connective tissues have been considered simply inert tissues, however if we consider the latest research by Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, it is possible to realize that the really serious connective tissue are the meridians leading the life energy to every cell and organ of the body. The Taoist therapy yoga works with the body taking into account this finding exercises that help lengthen and energetically cleanse the system of connective tissues thus enabling the chi or prana to flow harmoniously through the meridians.
