The retreat will be held at Oasis Yoga Bungalows, conveniently located in the center of Klong Dao beach. A one-minute walk to put your feet in the sand and just a few minutes walk to the main road makes for the perfect location to access all the best of the island.

The charming, stand-alone bungalows with cozy front porches are ready for you to sit back and chill out. The rooms are newly and mindfully renovated with your holistic health in mind. It's a space that is clean, simple, and comfortable. Each has its own private bathroom with hot and cold water along with access to clean drinking water and free reusable water bottles to use throughout your stay.

The organizer hopes you find it easy to be mindful of your resources while you are here and still enjoy the creature comforts these bungalows provide. Each room has an A/C unit and a fan; you are also more than welcome to open the windows and enjoy the breeze. The property will be kept safe and guarded, but just in case, they also provide in-room safety boxes for your reassurance. There is a small fridge in each unit, high-speed fiber-optic wifi, but not a TV - with all the beach, yoga, dining, and adventure you wouldn't even notice.

Program

The retreat will be hosted by Oasis Yoga, a beautiful open-air shala on Klong Dao Beach overlooking the Andaman Sea. This is one of the most beautiful and chilled-out Yoga shalas in the world!

Practicing in the sea breeze, you might be paid a visit by monkeys or monitor lizards dropping by from the surrounding jungle to say hello.

Joey, your host and instructor, has personally practiced Yoga at Oasis for extended periods many times over the years, and he keeps coming back for more! The island vibration and tropical heat are powerful elements in exploring more deeply into your Asana practice.

The Yoga curriculum of this retreat will focus on the 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Sri BNS Iyengar of Mysore, India. Daily morning practice sessions will include Therapeutic/Somatic movement, Kriya (preparation), Asana (postural practice), and Pranayama (Yogic breathing techniques).

Afternoon sessions will consist of Mudra (Bodily energy seals), Mantra (Yogic Chanting), and Meditation.

In the evenings, you will stream philosophy lectures from the Mysore Yoga Traditions scholarly archives. This is a deep Yoga philosophy from the elders of Mysore that you won’t find anywhere outside of our archives, other than traveling to India.

Retreat location

Koh Lanta is the ideal place to kick back in a hammock and practice simply being in the moment. Still free of big hotels and neon lights, it’s a barefoot beauty with a hint of a hippie. You won't find any pushy touts or loud jet skies here. Koh Lanta Yai, known as the sexy beach babe of southern Thailand, is 30 kilometers from tip to tip, with one long, stunning, white sandy beach after the next.

The west coast of the island is renowned for breathtaking sunsets, a place where you can still find yourself alone on an untouched beach, sunbathing all your cares away. Local culture and charm fill the east coast with the local sea gypsy village set against a dynamic backdrop of rocky karats which have made the Krabi Province famous for its picture-perfect postcards.

A jungly mountainous spine cuts the island down the center leaving much-unspoiled land to remain home to natural flora and fauna proving that Koh Lanta is truly one of the most idealistic tropical islands in all of South East Asia.

The most easily accessible beach on Koh Lanta is a 3 kilometers wide, stretch of white, sandy beach, almost completely rock-free making it the perfect beach for a focus on fitness or family. The safe and shallow waters are ideal for long open water swims and yoga practice. With easy access to the most variety of restaurants both Thai and foreign, Klong Dao is a 2 kilometers walk away to Baan Saladan where you'll find stilted seafood restaurants, several banks, veggie markets, a host of souvenir shops, and a night market walking street. The several beach bars of Klong Dao are known for their chilled-out sundowners vibe and still remains free from the loud full moon party scene.
