Are you feeling burnt out? Reconnect to your inner wisdom and innate sense of peace by slowing down and listening. Immerse yourself in a serene atmosphere, surrounded by nature, in the middle of Rishikesh, the capital of yoga. Rebalance yourself and deeply connect to the moment unfolding in sacredness and perfection. Nurture, heal, and listen to your inner being in a harmonious space of serenity, joy, and silence. Deepen your spiritual practice with daily yoga (asana), pranayama, mantra chanting, and meditation. Let go of the "monkey mind's" noise and chaos. Allow infinite peace - your true nature - to unfold within.
During your retreat, you will be accommodated at the Yoga Niketan Ashram. You will stay in an ashram-style single, clean, and safe room with private bathroom and a fan. Ashrams represent a return to a simpler way of living, which is very different from a hotel. Generally, there is a more communal atmosphere and an appreciation for the true meaning of the yogic lifestyle.
Double room is available upon request. During the hot season, A/C rooms are offered. You will also find a desk, chair, and an armoire, and a little porch or balcony to relax or read your favorite book. Towels, soap, and toilet paper are provided.
All rooms are simple, yet quaint and immersed in lush greenery. The yoga studio is fully equipped with mats, block, straps, and bolsters. This studio is within walking distance of each accommodation. Afternoon Ayurvedic tea is offered daily at 4:00 p.m and the library, open most of the day and evening, offers a wide selection of yogic texts also in English. Wi-Fi is available at the library during specific hours.
Immerse yourself in yoga and meditation with Yogi Vimal - a local of Rishikesh who spent a year alone in a cave as part of his spiritual practice - and his team of highly qualified and internationally known instructors. Practice yoga on the terrace of the lovely Yoga Niketan Ashram surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Himalayas, overlooking the sacred river Ganga in the holy town of Rishikesh, the world’s capital of yoga.
On excursion days, the schedule is different. Om Sampoorn Yoga will inform you of such changes the day before.
Yogi Vimal and his team will take you to the Himalayas to enjoy sunrise meditation, visit temples and sacred caves, to participate in Indian traditional ceremonies - such as puja and aarti by the holy river Ganga – and to partake in kirtan.
Born and raised in Rishikesh, Vimal’s journey as a yogi began years ago with his studies at the Bihar School of Yoga and continued at the Sivananda Vedanta Academy. As part of his sadhana (spiritual practice), Vimal lived alone in a cave for one year. This unique life’s transforming experience permitted him to deeply understand the real meaning of living a yogic lifestyle. For the past 13 years, Vimal has been teaching yoga and meditation in India and other parts of Asia to improve one’s physical health as well as one’s spiritual life.
