During your retreat, you will be accommodated at the Yoga Niketan Ashram. You will stay in an Ashram style single, clean, and safe room with private bathroom. Ashrams represent a return to a simpler way of living, which is very different from a hotel. Generally, there is a more communal atmosphere and an appreciation for the true meaning of the yogic lifestyle.
Double room available upon request. During the hot season, A/C rooms are offered. You will also find a desk, chair, and an armoire, a little porch or balcony to relax or read your favorite book. Towels, soap, and toilet paper are provided.
All rooms are simple, yet quaint and immersed in lush greenery. The yoga studio is fully equipped with mats, block, straps, and bolsters. This studio is within walking distance of each accommodation. Afternoon Ayurvedic tea is offered daily at 4:00 p.m and the library, open most of the day and evening, offers a wide selection of yogic texts also in English. Wi-Fi available at the library during specific hours.
Please note that on days of excursions the schedule will change. Omsampoornyoga will inform you of such changes the day before.
Silence will be observed on the Ashram premises every Thursday.
During this retreat you will visit sacred caves and ancient temples, meet sadhus and babas known only by local yogis. Meditate by the sacred river Ganga, attend Indian holy traditional ceremonies, participate in kirtan, watch the sun rise in the Himalayas, enjoy afternoon Ayurvedic tea. Also, experience your own puja (offering to the river Ganga).
