Embrace the chance to visit sacred caves and temples, meet sadhus, watch the sunrise in the Himalayas, sit by the sacred Ganga river, and participate in holy ceremonies. Find a stronger version of you in body, mind, soul.
During your retreat, you will be accommodated at the Yoga Niketan Ashram. You will stay in an Ashram style single, clean, and safe room with private bathroom. All rooms are simple, yet quaint and immersed in lush greenery. The yoga studio is fully equipped with mats, block, straps, and bolsters. This studio is within walking distance of each accommodation. Afternoon Ayurvedic tea is offered daily at 4:00 p.m and the library, open most of the day and evening, offers a wide selection of yogic texts also in English. Wi-Fi available at the library during specific hours.
Please note: on excursion days, the schedule will change. You will be informed of such changes the day before.
Go on excursions with Yogi Vimal - a local of Rishikesh who lived in a cave alone for a year and knows all the spots only babas are aware of.
Yogi Vimal and his team will take you to the Himalayas to enjoy sunrise meditation, visit temples and sacred caves, to participate in Indian traditional ceremonies -such as puja and aarti by the holy river Ganga – and to partake in kirtan.
Born and raised in Rishikesh, Vimal’s journey as a yogi began years ago with his studies at the Bihar School of Yoga and continued at the Sivananda Vedanta Academy. As part of his sadhana (spiritual practice), Vimal lived alone in a cave for one year. This unique life’s transforming experience permitted him to deeply understand the real meaning of living a yogic lifestyle. For the past 13 years, Vimal has been teaching yoga and meditation in India and other parts of Asia to improve one’s physical health as well as one’s spiritual life.
