Levinthos is a lovely retreat center and a small family runs the business. It is located in a secluded part of the bay of Lentas, known from the ancient times for its unique healing energy. Lentas is protected as an archaeological site and as a result, no big hotels can be found there. This has preserved the outstanding natural beauty and serenity of the area.
We provide accommodation at Levinthos studio or flats or at Filoxenia studio or flats. Both complexes offer comfortable accommodation, featuring clean, spacious fully equipped rooms for a pleasant stay.
We have included a boat trip around the bay of Lentas. Enjoy the experience of a trip on a traditional fishing boat, swim in secluded beaches, and enjoy lunch at the beach. We are offering a guided hike to the ancient Sanctuary of Asklepios.
The temple of Asklepios dates back to the fourth century before Christ. Asklepios was the god of medicine, healing, and rejuvenation. People went to the temple to be healed. They slept overnight and reported their dreams to a priest the next day.
The priest would prescribe a cure, to visit the baths or drink the healing water of the area. Visitors from all over Greece and North Africa visited in that time the magnificently equipped hot springs with their welfare-bringing water.
This hike is followed by the hike up the 'Lion' mountain for our 'adventurous' yogis and yoginis. The hike is worth the effort and the views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking.
After exploring diverse disciplines (from a Law degree and professional music to Brazilian Ju Jitsu and competitive sports), Olympia felt that yoga was where everything falls together. Yoga is the place where all knowledge and experience becomes one; a complete unified experience. Olympia then qualified as a yoga teacher with Santosha yoga (YTT 200 hours). During this training, she met her inspirational teacher, Peter Clifford. She continued her studies with him for a further YTT 200, YTT 300, and the Five Elements Form. She is also a qualified massage therapist (Swedish, Thai, Ayurvedic).
After many years of practicing yoga and developing a profound interest in alternative therapies and the numerous physical and psychological benefits of yoga, Alexia pursued her aspirations and qualified as a 200hr Yoga Alliance teacher and as a therapeutic Thai massage therapist. She is a firm believer that rediscovering that connection between the body and the mind is the key to overcoming any obstacle in life and living it to its full potential. Her teaching style is a personal mix of Hatha yoga and Vinyasa techniques, aimed at empowering individuality whilst synchronizing breath awareness
Lentas is an idyllic fishing village on the south coast of Crete in Greece. The name Lentas derives from Λέοντας (in English, “lion”) and refers to the lion-shaped cape that makes the bay of Lentas. Lentas has a great history with the oldest tracks of remainders being located at the stone era.
Lentas became famous across its borders because of the Asklipio Temple (fourth century before Christ). Asklepios was the god of medicine, healing, and rejuvenation. People went to the temple to be healed.
They slept overnight and reported their dreams to a priest the next day. The priest would prescribe a cure, to visit the baths, or drink the healing water of the area. Visitors from all over Greece and North Africa visited in that time the magnificently equipped hot springs with their welfare-bringing water.
Nowadays the whole village is protected as an archaeological area which prevents building large hotels and so Lentas keeps its beautiful landscape almost intact. Lentas has many traditional tavernas and cafés where you can taste the local Cretan cuisine or enjoy a drink right by the Libyan sea.
There are many beautiful beaches in close proximity, such as Austria, Dytikos, Loutra, and Trachoulas. If you like climbing or walking you can take one of the many paths up the mountain of ” Lion” and enjoy the stunning views of the landscape and sea.

Breakfast consists of a rich vegetarian buffet of fruits, nuts, eggs, tea, coffee, herbal teas, milk (dairy and nondairy), cereals, oats, bread, butter, and marmalade.
Lunch and dinner consist of vegetarian dishes and salads, homemade with love and local, mostly organically grown ingredients. The Mediterranean and especially Cretan diet are well known for its high nutritional value, so we are mostly sticking to the traditional dishes.
