"I would recommend this holiday for everybody. For 6 days I forgot all my problems, I just lived in the present. The desert trekking was amazing, thanks to Laurence. He is really kind and you feel relaxed in his company. I am a total beginner at yoga. Tjasa was a really good teacher, she made me love the yoga. I have never tried surfing before and Marco was a really patient teacher, I enjoyed it. The massage is worth to try too. If you have any pain , Arsen will help you to release it. The accomodation is clean and you got everything what you need there. If you need something you just ask Jure and he will make sure you will get it and he makes you smile every time too. Thank you." website, edited

"I'm just back from my one week yoga escape and am so happy that I went on this journey! One week of Yoga in a beautiful location, meeting a lot of wonderful people- I totally recommend it! A huge thanks to Tjasa to her hospitality and the great yoga sessions- I really liked how she was able to tune in to the different levels of the participants and how everyone was able to practice in a way that was good for them! Also the house is very nice and the environment is just wonderful with the most beautiful beaches and clear blue water! The package also includes a great massage- just the best to relax from all the yoga classes and get some new energy! I also think it's a great advantage that there is no special check in or out time,so that you really can use all the time you have on your travel days. And it's great that there are also some extra offers you can add to the package if you like to! Thanks a lot for a wonderful week in a great house with wonderful people and a nice and laid back atmosphere!"

"I wish I could score 11 out of ten. I went on this retreat with nerves as a single traveller, being on my own, I felt would be a challenge. From day 1 of this retreat however, I felt at home. I was welcomed with a beautiful smile by Tjasa, who was excellent at communicating schedules and all the information that I needed throughout the trip. This is an excellent holiday retreat for Solo's or couples. The shops and town itself is easily accesible and I found hiring a bike and cycling to the beach or to my favourite breakfast spot a real treat. The yoga with Tjasa and also with Lawrence saw me increase my flexibility and confidence only after a few sessions! The 'Dune Walk' was outstanding and I can't recommend it enough. The massage was very much welcomed and was quite a treat! I also treasured my time and memories surfing and the instructor was outstanding in his practice and skill as a teacher. I will definately return in the near future! Thanks Oceanyoga for an amazing holiday!" website, edited

"I had a wonderful time at Oceanyoga Fuerteventura. The level of teaching was way beyond what I expected - Elena and Lawrence are gifted teachers and I thoroughly enjoyed their attention to detail - and the fact that we went to several locations - the roof terrace, the beach and the dunes. I loved the meditation we did at the volcano and also my full body massage. The trip was just what I wanted and it was lovely to meet Tjasa too, although our paths just crossed briefly.", edited, edited

"My visit to Oceanyoga Fuerteventura was my first holiday alone, (and my first of this kind), and it didn’t disappoint."

"Tjasa was incredibly warm and welcoming, and I felt immediately at ease and at home - made even better by the gorgeous vegan snacks to welcome us!"

"This holiday was certainly enriched by the great company of the other guests, and Tjasa, Ursa and Matjeaus - (spelling incorrect, sorry) went out of their way to make sure we ate fabulous food, were relaxed, and had a great yoga experience at all times. This was even more apparent because the weather was particularly unseasonable, and they rallied seamlessly to make sure that we still had a great experience, going above and beyond to arrange excursions and treats on our behalf."

"Love this place and these fabulous people. I’ve recommended it to anyone who’ll listen and I’ll certainly be back - probably this year!"

"Thank you all for a wonderful and memorable holiday. Probably also useful to mention that I am a beginner in yoga and I was extremely well accommodated, so if you’re wavering - go for it!", edited

  • Review by Hilary Harrison

"A truly relaxing week with Tjasa and Ursa - and thanks to Matjas for the wonderful food. The yoga was a good mix of fast-paced flow and more gentle, calming yoga on the beach (weather permitting!). The alignment workshops were really useful and I’m so pleased I managed my first solo headstand. The weather was not the wall to wall sunshine you’d expect from the Canaries, but it didn't put a dampener on the week - which was more like a holiday than a retreat. The ladies went out of their way to make the week special, organising horse riding and impromptu pedicures / massages (on top of the complimentary massage). It was my birthday during the retreat and Tjasa made a wonderful vegan chocolate cake, which everyone now has the recipe for! Highly recommended.", edited

  • Review by Traveler from London, United Kingdom

"Doing yoga/surf, I ended up staying in a surfers' house rather than a yoga retreat, which was an unexpected but cool surprise. The surf classes would be especially good for intermediate surfers; photography is used to improve on style and, occasionally, a proper oceanic North shore swell is sought out. Having said so, Marko, the teacher, was very encouraging despite me being a total beginner. The relaxing yoga takes place on the beach with Ocean Yoga's Tjasa, and accommodates beginner to intermediate level. Class times depend on the surf conditions of the day.Note: Although the surf/yoga was advertised as being one week between specific dates, it turns out that it is possible to check in-and-out whenever this is convenient."

"As regards Oceanyoga Fuerteventura I appreciate a lot the yoga workshops provided by Ellena. She is the amazing yoga teacher with the holistic positive approach...I would like to follow her as a teacher after the holidays! I will come back to Fuerteventura for her and for the superb Fuertaventura's beaches as soon as I can! I can recommend also the therapist Arsen who makes amazing massage!"

"However I have to admit that the Oceanyoga I will not take it for the second time as a holiday retreat and I will not recommend it to my friends. It was far from professional job....", edited

"Tjasa the yoga instructor was so friendly and helpful. Meeting you from the bus making sure your apartment was all okay for you. Taking you to internet cafe to print off your return boarding pass. Taking you to the massage location. And generally caring. The two massages were great too and I will definitely be returning next Xmas if not before", edited

"Tjasa is a really excellent teacher and the sessions were intense and tiring but with a chilled out vibe exactly what we were after. The small groups and customised lessons meant we really learnt a lot and felt like we got the full luxury boutique yoga experience! And the beach surroundings of Fuerta with the sounds of the sea and blue skies above gave an idyllic background.I also did the surfing option with Manuwai which was very enjoyable great teachers, great locations and great atmosphere equals happy surfer.Overall would definitely recommend, especially for people looking to do some excellent yoga/surfing whilst still having a chilled out relaxing beachy holiday. We are already looking forwards to coming back."

"I had a great time in Corralejo. The location is stunning, with white sand beaches and crystal blue waters. Tjasa is an amazing yoga teacher, and surfing with Trystan was a treat, he's great with the waves and has a lot of knowledge to share. The surf house has all things necessary for a comfortable stay plus a great vibe. I am surely going back. Would recommend it to everybody up for an active and relaxing holiday." website, edited

"The accomodation Tamarindo has spacious, clean and good equipped appartments with access to a huge pool. The vinyasa-yoga on the beach with Tjasa is intense and suitable for all levels, she is a good teacher, nice person and very helpful with all the questions which might come up in your holiday. The surf lessons at manawai are one of the best I ever got, the groups are small and I learned a lot. You will experience different spots dependent on the curent weather conditions, there is not just a certain time when you surf, no matter if it is possible or not, like in many other surf schools."

  • Review by Natalia from Oxford, UK

"I used the kitchen a lot to cook meals, but managed to blow a fuse on the first night, when I plugged in the kettle. This was a little stressful as I had been in the apartment all of 2 minutes, when it plunged into darkness and I had no idea about fuse boards, where they were or even trying to find my phone in an unfamiliar place!Tjasa was nice and very kind, but I wasn't really told about anything on arrival. Nothing was explained as to what the massages were and since coming back and reading the reviews, I had no idea that I could have done a volcano trek for 20 euros. After 3 days of very little sleep (it didn't help that there were spotlights outside the apartment, so bring a sleep mask!) I dropped out of the yoga classes. It got quite hot during the day, so I ended up taking myself for walks during the morning and evening to the dunes and a nearby hill, which I much preferred. I found it too hot to make the walk to town in the middle of the day, without feeling mild heatstroke. So it was a little boring, between 11 and 4.I felt quite lonely staying out in the apartment blocks. The wifi barely worked (I'd partly come out to do some online learning, alongside having a relaxing holiday) so I couldn't do this. I ended up booking another flight to leave earlier.I suppose the social level would completely depend on who was there at the same time. Towards the end of the holiday, 3 more people arrived at the yoga house. Most people seemed to come along in couples or pairs, unlike a previous retreat I went to, where there were 20 or so individuals who would all get together for meal times in a communal space. I would have preferred something like that.So this holiday didn't quite work out for me. It's a pretty island, but the main town is very touristy. There were some nice juice bars and vegan restaurants, but also endless tourist tat and 'Brit Shops'. Not my thing."

    "Response from Oceanyoga Fuerteventura:"

"Dear Natalia, we appreciate your comments and will take them into consideration towards improving future guests' experiences.Oasis Tamarindo is a holiday place where people come to enjoy Fuerteventura for different purposes. We wish you would have communicated in a timely manner with us about the noisy neighbours and the matress during your stay so we could address and improve your lodging experience. Regarding information about the package (massages, trekking); It was detailed on the webpage and was further explained during the week of your stay but unfortunately you left the program too soon.Regarding temperature on Fuerteventura, it is semi arid and warm climate and you have to take standard precautions in the midday sun. In the future we will let people beforehand know about the climate conditions on the island. We don't advertise wifi in the apartments and also don't recommend buying the wifi packages for Oasis tamarindo complex due to the fact that the coverage might not work at all apartments. There is free wifi available at the cafes just outside the complex. We will make clear notes about wifi for future guests.Oceanyoga offers two different types of packages, first being a holiday with yoga classes and massages in it and the second type being the retreat type where you get a social experience within an organized group. Your package was the holiday with classes and not the retreat experience.Corralejo is a touristy place but if you're willing to venture further, the island offers an array of amazing places and activities - A trip to Isla de Lobos, the Sand dunes Natural park, the old harbour area. The public transport takes you to quaint villages of Lajares, and unique sunsets in El Cotillo.Thank you for your feedback and best wishes for you from Oceanyoga Fuerteventura.", edited

  • Review by Annette from London, UK

"The combination of yoga and surfing for a week was fantastic. I chose to stay in a separate apartment, not the surf house. The yoga sessions were held at different beaches, it was very relaxing. Tjasa is a lovely teacher and person - she went the extra mile to make my stay wonderful. The instructor Kristan from Manawai surf school was very patient and knowledgeable. The warm, but not hot weather was perfect for this active holiday." website, edited

  • Review by Jemal Nourhussen from Netherlands
