The apartment accommodation in Conil de la Frontera enjoys a fantastic location in a quiet urban neighbourhood of the beach side town of Conil de la Frontera. There are two brand new self catered apartments that are clean, comfortable and have a superb beach access by foot.
The apartments have fully equipped kitchens, spacious living rooms, sunny patios and clean, comfortable bedrooms. The apartments are ideally suited for you to make the best of Conil de la Frontera and the surrounding area.
The surf yoga holidays have been designed with those people in mind who wish to disconnect from their everyday routine and chill out in a wonderfully relaxing environment, completely in touch with nature whilst taking part in daily Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga sessions and surfing lessons. Your morning surfing lessons are the perfect way to connect you with the ocean in a safe and professional teaching environment.
Every morning starts with a two-hour surfing lesson on the beaches of Conil de la Frontera. After your surfing lessons you can lie out and relax on the beaches during the afternoons. Your morning surfing lessons include yoga for surfing combined with the surfing lessons. The afternoon evening it is time to go to the yoga studio where we hold our Ashtanga / Mysore yoga lessons. The lessons are available for all levels and fitness abilities, as the yoga teacher will adapt the yoga sessions to you.
On arrival in Conil de la Frontera you will meet at either the town center bus stop or the Cruce de Conil bus stop (which is 2kms outside the town center). From here you will be taken back to your accommodation to check in. Check in time to your accommodation is from the hours of 15:00 until 23:00. Once you have checked in, you will be briefed on the timings and locations of the weeks surfing lessons, and all other available activities during the week. Locations of all-important landmarks and all questions will be answered.
After a typical Andalusian breakfast, at one of the many bars surrounding the accommodation, make your way down to the designated surf beach where the morning surfing lessons will be held.
After signing the booking form, size up for a wetsuit and then yoga for surfing. Once down the beach you will have a detailed introduction into safety and your equipment.
You will learn prone position and how to catch the waves in prone position. You will wade out into waist depth water (where your feet can touch the ground at all times) and catch waves into the beach lying down in a prone position.
Once you can do this, then come out of the water and you will learn three different techniques on how to stand up.
You will then finish the lesson off with catching the waves in prone then trying to stand up in the white water.
After that, there will be a break for lunch. There will be free surf sessions back in the afternoon without your surfing instructor.
In the evening at 19:00, we make our way to the yoga studio for a yoga session. The yoga session on Monday is Mysore. This is Astanga yoga for beginners or advanced. The session is adapted to the level of the student. There is a choice with either the Astanga yoga session or Hatha yoga session.
After breakfast, we then head down to the beach for surfing lessons.
Surfing lessons includes:
Yoga for surfing.
Catching waves out of depth (depending on the surf conditions).
Techniques to get you out through the whitewater paddling for and catching green waves.
Taking the drop.
After the surfing lessons we will go for a guided route for a tapas lunch. In the afternoon, we then take off and go for a guided bike ride around the coastal paths of Conil de la Frontera. Depending on the weather conditions and on the group this can be moved around and fitted in on other days.
After breakfast, we then head down to the beach. There will be yoga for surfing lessons.
Introduction to Ocean Safety and beach life guarding techniques.
Explanation of beach environment, surfboard rescues etc.
Understanding surf and weather conditions and how they affect your surf experience.
Free surfing with Instructor feedback during the lesson.
After an afternoon free surf practice session, we head to our Yoga Studio in Conil de la Frontera for a 90 minutes long evening lesson of Ashtanga yoga guided session. The evening yoga starts at 20:00.
This is your last day and time to explore the local area. We can arrange a number of activities, or we can arrange a guided tour of Cadiz with Tapas route etc. (Not available during the last week of June, July, August and the first week in September)
This is your last day and check out from the surf camp accommodation is at 12:00.
Our Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga sessions take place in our specially prepared studio in Conil de la Frontera. Here you can enjoy several different activities such as, Pilates, oriental dance, Chi Kung and meditation. The primary focus is on the Ashtanga yoga sessions, however you can choose to participate in all the classes that are available at the time of your holiday.
Oceano Surf's head surfing instructor, Andy Bottomley has been teaching surfing for the past 10 years and his lessons are second to none. Andy had adapted a technique to coach absolute beginner surfers to get to their feet on the very first day of surf school.
The surf and holidays camp is located in Spain are based in the charming seaside village of Conil de la Frontera. Conil has a winter / spring local population of around 25,000 inhabitants which numbers swell in the tourist high season. In turn, Conil is host to a thriving community of local markets selling local produce as well as a few large supermarkets that stock everything that you might need for the duration of your holiday.

The food in Andalusia is absolutely excellent. You will eat locally produced ingredients that are seasonal. Your guides will give you the best advice on places to eat and shops to buy your local ingredients.
There are many local products in the local area that are exclusive to this region of Spain. Also the shopping in the bigger cities offers wide ranges of clothes / shoes / souvenirs etc.
A five-minute walk down the hill from the apartments is the Conil de la Frontera town beaches, which are both immense and beautiful.
In the Conil part of the Costa de la Luz beaches you can find restaurants such as Casa Fransico de la Fontanilla. This is a lovely restaurant that encroaches onto the white sands of the Atlantic beach.

The public transport infrastructure is very good here in Andalusia therefore getting from the airport to Conil de la Frontera should be quite easy.
