"Why was it a wonderful yoga retreat? Why? Because, first of all, Petra found us the most beautiful play to stay in for our holiday. A home not just a house. A place which was welcoming inside with stunning views outside of the coastline and ever-changing sea and sky.Next because each day starts with a special yoga and meditation session for about one and a half to two hours' long when we were treated gently but at the same time (literally) stretched to go that little bit further both within our minds and in our bodies. Refreshed, re-energised and healed, this session would sometimes bring issues to the surface for each one of us in different ways. Never more than we can cope with but always helping us to let go of different stresses and strains showing up in our lives which we had never stopped long enough to deal with before. Each day, she would present us with familiar exercises and add in new ones to extend us further, skilfully judging how far to take us to build and restore our confidence in ourselves and our physical abilities. Each day, the practice of quiet ending the mind became a habit which none of us wanted to lose. It quickly became as essential part of every day rather than a luxury. The rest of the day would be our own to relax, read, contemplate, walk, explore - all helping with the steady process of restoring ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually in whatever way felt right for us as individuals. We had the opportunity to tour local places such as the beautiful Vejer de la Frontera, voted so worthily the second most beautiful town in Spain. Petra kindly arranged delightful welcome and farewell dinners in beautiful restaurants with delicious food. She suggested lovely places to visit, the best beaches, the best places to eat and watch the world go by.We took up Petra's kind offer of a massage which, from personal experience, is probably one of the best massages I have ever had. By the end of the week, we not only looked healthier, fitter and slimmer, we were healthier, fitter and slimmer! We felt calmer and more ready to face the world again with renewed strength, patience and courage.Having returned, people have commented on how different we are and how they would like to experience such a retreat themselves. It was a very previous time for each of us individually and collectively. Together, we laughed and we cried, we reflected and allowed one another to dream about the future. We will be back, Petra, with more friends and colleagues. Thank you for being our teacher, our guide, our hostess and our sweet friend."
"Hi Petra! Thank you so much again for the wonderful yoga retreat! It was everything I needed that week and I already started applying the core strength Vinyasa principles in my classes. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your dedication and for being you. Big hug and hasta luego!"
"Petra, I know I speak for all of this when I thank you again for such a wonderful week. We are all really feeling the benefit and dont want to return to old ways! We are trying hard to integrate what we learned last week with you into our daily lives."
"Hi Petra! I just wanted to say a big thank you for a super week. You were such a great hostess and looked after us with such great detail. The yoga was awesome! Back in England the weather is cold and wet, but I can now deal with my problems in a relaxing mood. I have a new outlook to life! I am spreading the word and I feel I shall return soon!"
"This was an amazing week and exactly what we needed. Not only is Petra a highly-talented and very experienced yoga teacher, she worked with us in a very sensitive and intuitive way, anticipating what we needed at every turn. Each day we could see that we were making progress with our fitness but, most valuable of all, was the amazing sense of calm and peacefulness. The venue was charming and we had everything we needed. All the team were very caring and considerate. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to step out of their lives and take stock of what they are doing and where they are going. I feel fitter and more equipped to maintain the holiday feeling than I have ever done before. The surrounding area is extremely beautiful, the beaches stretch for miles and, most days, you can see Africa in the distance. We definitely want to return there again."
"We had a fantastic time at Ocean Yoga at the beautiful Costa de la Luz. Petra is a fantastic yoga teacher and made sure our stay was relaxing and invigorating! It was absolute bliss! We would strongly recommend Ocean Yoga to anyone who truly wants to get away from it all or change their daily routine in a supportive and stunning environment. Thanks Petra!"
