During the retreat, you will be residing at Obidos Lagoon Wellness Retreat hotel and spa. The hotel is a new wellness experience to Portugal. Obidos Lagoon Wellness retreat boasts of a natural chic design, offering a unique experience of comfort and elegance.

Each suite is tastefully decorated with pastel colors designed to make you feel calm, relaxed, and far away from your busy life. Each suite has a spacious open plan living, dining, kitchen area equipped for your basic cooking needs, bathroom with rainfall shower, and a bedroom that just breathes simplicity and tranquility. There is an option of two people sharing a one-bedroom suite, or three to four people sharing a two-bedroom suite.

Himalayan salt cave

Once upon a time, a couple hundred million years ago, crystallized sea salt beds, now deep within the Himalayans, were covered by lava. Besides being kept in a pristine environment that was surrounded by snow and ice year round, the lava is thought to have protected the salt from modern-day pollution leading to the belief that Himalayan pink salt is the purest salt to be found on earth.


Enjoying the Jacuzzi means that you will experience sleep improvement, stress relief, and muscle relaxation. It also alleviates joint pain.

People have used saunas and sweat lodges for thousands of years all around the world, and sweating out toxins is only part of the reason. Deeper health benefits from saunas don’t just lie in detoxification. You can actually boost your immune system too by using a few added techniques.

Unfortunately, most people who visit saunas neglect some of the key steps that help make this happen. When you sit in the sauna, brush, lightly scratch, or tap the skin on your arms, legs, belly, and back. This will stimulate your pores to open up more while you’re in the sauna, and boost the circulation at the surface of your body.

Once you've started sweating, you can stay in the sauna as long as you feel comfortable. Immediately after you leave the sauna, you have to immerse yourself in the cold water of the swimming pool. It sounds totally crazy, but you should think of it as boot camp for your immune system. It may not sound pleasant, but after a few times, you’ll get used to it and you’ll actually feel great afterward.

  • 08:00 Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga session
  • 09:30 Healthy breakfast
  • 11:30 A walk in nature
  • 13:00 Lunch time (you may eat out at one of the local restaurants or order a picnic lunch)
  • 14:00 Free time, relax, and spa in nature or explore the area
  • 16:30 Afternoon tea
  • 18:00 Hatha yoga
  • 20:00 Dinner time (you may eat out at one of the recommended restaurants)
  • 22:00 Experience some mantra Kirtan at the fire pit - weather permitting

Day 4

  • 07:30 Wake up in silence and join in for some natural tea with plants from the garden
  • 08:00 Yoga flow session
  • 09:30 Healthy breakfast
  • 11:00 Yoga session in pairs
  • 13:00 Farewell picnic lunch

The retreat will be held at Obidos Lagoon wellness retreat center near the Silver Coast beaches and the shore of the ancient Obidos lagoon in Portugal. A leisurely one-hour drive from Lisbon, the Obidos Lagoon Wellness Retreat is located in the old Quinta de Obidos forest estate wedged between the pristine Silver Coast beaches and the south shore of the ancient Obidos Lagoon.

The area is well-known because Obidos lagoon is the largest salt water lagoon in Portugal and it is a favorite on weekends due to the warm water, secluded beaches, fishing spots, and various water sports.

The organizer recommends the following excursions during your leisure time:


Take the opportunity to go for a cycle to explore and enjoy the beauty of nature. There is a great bicycle path along the Obidos Lagoon. Start your journey leaving the Obidos Lagoon Wellness Retreat, and turn right at the end of the road. Continue for some 500 meters to the village of Lapinha with beautiful typical homes, and at the end of the descent, continue on the dirt road which leads to the Lagoon cycle path.

During your trip, you can explore many other activities whilst exploring nature, such as bird watching. The best place for this sort of activity is at the mouth of the Arnóia River where you can find a bird observation tower. About halfway to this observation tower, there is a snack bar or coffee shop to sit and enjoy the scenery. You will also see that this is the area where many water sports activities are located, a very popular water activity is the stand-up paddling.

Visit Obidos Castle

The retreat center is just 20 minutes away from the famous Obidos Castle. At the castle, you can try some of the local sweet pastries or the infamous cherry liquor in a chocolate cup or you could choose to walk around the castle walls and enjoy the views of the town and countryside surroundings.

Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request and at an additional cost.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
