You will be staying right in the middle of the Medina, Marrakechs old part of the city, in a Riad. When looking for accommodation, a place to stay in Morocco is called Riad. Riad means garden, and in this context it describes a traditional Moroccan house built around an inner courtyard or garden. Inspired by the traditional Roman villa with its inner atrium, the Riad was developed during the 9th century AD.

Today, the Riad served two main purposes: providing privacy (particularly for women) and protection from the North African heat. The centerpiece of a Riad is its inner courtyard. It usually contains lemon or orange trees and a water feature. The design creates an airflow that serves as a natural air conditioner that works remarkably well, even by todays standards.

A Riads true beauty is on the inside. Every room opens to the richly decorated atrium, giving visitor a truly palatial impression with its carefully ornamented walls and galleries. Carefully restored Arabic calligraphy, mosaics, carpets, cool stone floors and traditional furniture awaits in Riads all over the country, from the big cities to small towns.

Cool and comfortable, beautiful and absolutely quiet though right in the center, the chosen Riad provides you with a suitable environment to relax, unwind, enjoying the sun and a glass of Moroccan tea any time of the day.

While drifting through the Medina, you will discover treasures everywhere in any shape: spices, perfumes, handicrafts, carpets and jewelry. Between all the small shops you will find tiny fruit and vegetable stalls where farmers offer their freshly harvested products; old carriages serving as counters for fresh delicious bread. Everything is surrounded by a bewitching smell. The whole city seems to be enchanted by the drumming and singing, by snake charmers and storytellers. Calm and coolness can only be found once entering the very narrow streets. In Marrakech, it is easy though to feel comfortable and at home despite its strangeness and fascination - in this sea of seething life, bustling action, loud shouts and feverish, everlasting and never ending circle of boiling life. Indeed no other city in the world deserves the name Pearl of the South more than Marrakech.

"A friend and I just got back from a 5 day yoga retreat in Marrakech with Nosade. From start to finish, it was everything I had hoped for and more. The trip was very well organised and tailored to suit our preferences. The yoga sessions with our talented instructor Gaia were both energising and relaxing. We had time in between sessions for a guided tour of the old city, to explore and shop in the souks and even to experience a traditional hammam. The food was invariably delicious & fresh with some excellent lunch recommendations from Anica. We had really good company and left feeling like we'd made friends for life. Thank you very much to Anica and Yidir for a great experience. Can't wait to get back and try the Desert tour."

"Nosade Tours promises to help find a path to yourself in Moroccos most beautiful & inspiring sights. Nosade delivers. I spent two of the best weeks of my life on a Nosade desert retreat. My fellow travelers were experienced yogis who could stand on their heads and put their feet in their mouths. I was a beginner. Nevertheless, the classes and accommodated us all. My Yoga improved exponentially and I loved also the camel rides there and back to the Berber Camp and the treks in the desert. All the travel arrangements were exceptionally well managed and the food excellent."

"This was really the experience of a lifetime. Nosade really provides a personalized one on one cultural experience that you don't get with a lot of tours. Hard for me to pick a stand out moment. Between Yoga in the desert, climbing sand dunes, hand drumming by the fire, riding camels, or seeing shooting stars in the night sky above the sand it's really impossible to pick. In addition to the guides teaching us a lot about Moroccan culture the yoga sessions really taught me a lot about my body, and gave me tools to improve my practice even further here at home."

"A friend and I recently traveled to Morocco, and decided to venture to Merzouga to experience the NOSADE desert tour. Incredibly glad we did! The journey there was scenic and adventurous. The guides and staff at NOSADE greeted us as part of their family and took very good care of us. Riding camels into the desert was a surreal, unforgettable way to get to the campsite. By far, climbing the incredibly high sand dunes was my favorite part... breathtaking. Especially at sunset! We felt that we got a true Moroccan experience, and I wouldn't have changed a thing. Definitely recommend to anyone!"

"I was expecting a big group of hippy vegan women so you can imagine my pleasure when I realized you are all quite normal with a love for yoga food and the environment! Amanda is an amazing yoga teacher and you compliment her perfectly the experience has left me wanting more and I'm already looking for my next yoga retreat. It was a great experience for me and I'm so glad to have met you, I will cherish the memories for many years to come. I hope you're enjoying the serenity and beauty of the desert, and I've thought a lot about the desert retreat and the more I think about it the more I want to do it. Thank you so much for everything and please pass on my thanks to Yidir and if you're ever in London come and stay with me and don't worry I wouldn't expect you to provide yoga classes. Take very good care of yourself hope to hear from you soon. In the meantime I'm on the hunt for an Anusara yoga teacher here in London!"
