Nokishita Toshokan is a yoga retreat center in the middle of Nishiawakura (Okayama) mountains. It is the perfect place to enjoy the Japanese countryside.
Olivier discovered Yoga while living in London 20 years ago while struggling with running injuries. Since completing his 200 then 500 YTTC in India with Tribe Yoga and Sampoorna Yoga 10 years ago, he became more open to take responsability for his own learning, developemnt and healing. Since 2014 Olivier has been a resident main teacher at Sampoorna 200 YTTC in the cold winter month and Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Ashtanga classes in Japan, Canada, Germany and the UK.

"Absolutely uplifting stay!"
Our hosts Olivier and Hiromi were both incredibly warm, friendly and welcoming. From the time we arrived we were treated to the sights, sounds and beauty of their village. From visiting a local harvest festival to appreciating local carpentry and pottery, we were instantly immersed!
A trip to the local onsen was a perfect way to relax after sunset yoga on the deck!
The food experience was incredible! My husband and I are vegetarian and absolutely love learning about new food ideas and flavours! We were fortunate to be so graciously welcomed in their home and treated to such a tasty and healthy family dinner!
As for breakfast, I could have sat for hours indulging in freshly baked bread, jams, fruit and Olivier’s and Hiromi’s unique creations!
The yoga classes themselves were appropriately tailored to our experience. My husband commented on it being the best yoga instruction he’s ever received! We were impressed by the concise yet informative explanations given prior to the meditations and briefings on styles of yoga. We appreciated the right amount of challenge and tips provided with the classes to help us improve beyond the retreat.
Overall, we loved our stay and honour the time given by Olivier and Hiromi to share their space, positive enegrgy, active family life, engage in great conversation and be inspired by their hard work and lifestyle.
