No Mats Nomads invites you to a week of magic in the majestic setting of Punta Islita, Costa Rica. Take the time to slow down and find yourself. You can get outside in nature, practice yoga, and make some good friends along the way. You will go deeper into your yoga practice while enjoying all the perks, beauty, and relaxation of a vacation. Plug into a like-minded environment, which has been developed in full synergy with its neighboring communities. The call is to live fully and the destination awaits.
You will stay in one of three beautiful private homes located at Hotel Punta Islita. Each home has a unique flare, beautiful decor, and includes high-end amenities of Hotel Punta Islita. The hotel is a tropical paradise complete with private beach, two swimming pools, and two on site restaurants namely Le Cocos Beachfront Club & Restaurant and Pacifico Restaurant.
Pacifico’s fifty-foot thatched palm ceiling and open layout are inspired by the architectural style of ancient native cultures for a memorable dining experience. On the other hand, Coco’s beachfront restaurant provides a casual dining experience.
On arrival and departure days, Kenny and Marcel will offer a welcoming and a closing yoga class. All other days, two yoga classes will be offered. The two hour sunrise classes will be more energetic and upbeat while the two hour sunset candlelit classes will be introspective and calming.
During this retreat, you will go hiking in the nature.
Kenneth Graham is a certified yoga teacher with over 23 years of study and experience. He teaches yoga alignment based yoga honoring individual needs. He is the founder of No Mats Nomads and teaches teacher training and retreats in California and worldwide.
Marcel van de Vis Heil
Marcel started to practice yoga in the gym about 18 years ago. Soon after he was hooked, he did his first teacher training and started to teach. He was the manager of Yoga Garden when it opened in 2004 and in 2009, he could take over the studio with Anat Geiger. Since 2008, they run their teacher training program.
This retreat will take place at Hotel Punta Islita in Costa Rica. This place is a luxury beachfront getaway featuring charm, culture, and abundant natural biodiversity of Costa Rica and its Guanacaste Province. Hotel Punta Islita's wonderful natural setting provides ideal opportunities to live the excitement of pristine eco-systems.
You will be served daily brunch and dinner in this retreat. You can enjoy your meals at the stylish Pacifico Restaurant that showcases the rich textures, vibrant colors, and intense flavors of Costa Rica’s culinary traditions. Fresh local and regional ingredients are playfully combined with the flair and zest that reflects Costa Rica’s ethnic diversity and Guanacaste’s natural exuberance.
On the other hand, you can savor delicious local cuisine while sipping a cocktail with your feet in the warm sand at Cocos. There are also vegetarian options available for every meal. Fresh fruit, local coffee, and filtered water are provided throughout your stay.
You can pamper yourself with a deluxe spa treatment at an extra cost.
You can choose either to book your flight to Liberia International Airport (LIR) or Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). Please note that there is a local domestic flight to Punta Islita, 40 minutes' flight from Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). However, there is no domestic flight from Liberia International Airport (LIR) to Punta Islita.
Upon your arrival into San Jose or Liberia airport, you may need to spend the night in a hotel near the airport in order to make a connecting flight or to coordinate with a car.
