Come and grab this precious opportunity to enjoy sailing the Mediterranean, to have the experience of living on a boat, practice yoga in beautiful places, and participate in many other magical moments that simply happen on these weeks. During this retreat, you will be sailing, discovering, and practicing yoga every day in beautiful beaches whilst enjoying the experience of cruising, swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing in the beautiful islands of Ibiza and Formentera.

During this retreat, you will stay on the Luziana boat. Luziana is a great and very comfortable 47-foot long sailing boat. It will accommodate up to 10 people in five different cabins, including the captain and the yoga teacher who are crews on board. On board, you will find all facilities, kitchen, bathrooms, and an inside spacious saloon area. This charming sailing boat also offers a great outdoor dining space with a sitting area. This promises many beautiful breakfast, brunch, and dinners al fresco absorbing the scents of the ocean and the surrounding landscapes.
The boat also offers a great front deck to relax where you will have some of your meditation or sun gazing sessions. There is plenty of space on the decks outside to relax, read, or sunbath whilst sailing. Accommodation is on shared basis, in cabins offering the basic comfort you need for a good night of rest. You will also be able to book a private room at an additional price.
There are four boats in total: Boat 1, Boat 2, Boat 3, and Boat 4. Boat 1 will be employed for the July retreat, Boat 2 and Boat 3 on August retreat, and Boat 4 on September retreat. The prices will vary according to the dates.
Everyday, depending on the weather and wind, the captain will take you to the best beaches and sports of these islands. You will go to the most beautiful sandy and quite beaches for the morning yoga practices, and then you will sail along enjoying the boat and the privilege of riding the Mediterranean Sea to great spots to enjoy meditation sessions or a dynamic yoga practice to finish with the stunning sunsets of the islands. At night, you will moor in a cool beach where you will spend the night at. You will also be able to enjoy a meal in the restaurants by the beach.
The yoga practices will take place in different chosen beaches each morning. Practices on the beach are particular due to the terrain, as they happen on the sand. Please do not expect a practice like you will have on your own studio back at home. The practice will be tailored to bring sense of grounding to re-balance after the hours floating on water. You will work on introspective postures, centering the energy as well as dynamic sequences working on core, balance, and focus.
The classes will also be tailored to suit the sand element and ensure you enjoy the practice on that element. You will also combine the yoga practices with meditation or other sessions in the afternoon both in the boat deck and in land. You will be ensured that you will not miss any of the stunning sunsets that the Balearic Islands offer.
During this week of sailing, you will get the chance to experience life on a sailing boat. The life on a sailing boat is not about luxury, although is an absolute privilege. You will discover the life from the sea and have the possibility to access many beaches, places, and restaurants that are not reachable by land. The times when you go sailing are for yourself, relaxing moments, or the opportunity to chat and socialize with the group. The daily stops on land will give you the opportunity to go exploring the island, discovering local food, cities, or villages.
On the other hand, you will also learn that life in a boat is different from life in land. It is a small space and you will be an essential part of the crew. So, your collaboration and help will be needed with the captain, the yoga teacher, and the rest of the team in charge of all duties on the boat. Expect to be asked by the captain to help with some sails, ropes, and in some maneuvers when anchoring or at the port. Please help with preparing the meals, team work when setting up the table, and rota for cleaning the dishes.
Please be mindful of the group and keep the boat tidy. Doing everything together is fun. Enjoy the bonding and the connection you create with the rest of the group.
On board, you will meet Carlos, the captain and the yoga retreat teacher. Carlos has over 20 years of sailing experience not only in the Balearic Islands but in plenty of other spots in the world as well. He will safely sale you to all of the amazing places and share his time with the guests. Each boat will be led by one of the Yoga Weeks Barcelona teachers.
All yoga teachers who collaborate with Yoga Weeks Barcelona are all great. They are all international, well-traveled, and knowledgeable yoga teachers with whom you can connect and enjoy the yoga practices, philosophy chats, and plenty of great moments with. In addition to the on board team, you will also have Yoga Weeks Barcelona inland personal contact available to your disposal.
Please note that route may vary according to weather and sea conditions. Routes due to wind changes are decided pretty much on a daily basis, however the below places are the ones Yoga Weeks Barcelona would try and visit for being some of the most beautiful places.
The meeting point will be on Saturday, at a cafe-bar at Ibiza Club Nautico from 13:00. Yoga Weeks Barcelona staff will be there available to meet you at 13:00. Please note that you will be able to embark at 13:45 and the boat will set sail from port at 14:00.
Gathering at the meeting point at Ibiza port to embark at 13:00. You will have welcome meeting with the teacher and captain on board, and then you will set to sail to ride seas.
In Ibiza, you will visit Salinas Beach to see beautiful turquoise waters where famous Sa Trinxa and Jockey bars are, Cala Proroig, a place only accessible by boat which is a perfect paradise to practice yoga in the morning, and Cala d’Hort, a fantastic beach with a great restaurant for a night dinner located next to the magical water rock of Es Vedrà. Afterwards, you will have plenty of sailing time to Formentera which will take approximately three hours.
In Formentera, you will sightsee at Cala Saona which is an amazing quiet beach for practicing yoga with a great bar-restaurant for enjoying coffee or meals, Ses Illetes, one of the most emblematic places in Formentera where you will be delighted to see amazing sunsets at, Espalmador, a natural reserve located between Ibiza and Formentera, and Es Calò, a small cala located in the west of the island which is an amazing place to swim
Ana begon haar holistische reis na haar terugkeer naar Barcelona en werken in een zeer snelle omgeving, met lange uren en veel stress. Yoga werd dan een deel van haar leven, om een beter evenwicht te vinden. Na vele jaren van het beoefenen yoga, besloot ze de bedrijfswereld te verlaten voor een ander, meer vervullend werk en leven.
Het was 15 jaar geleden toen de weg en de passie voor de praktijk van yoga begon. In Uruguay (waar ik vandaan kom) heb ik een cursus van Raja Yoga Instructeur gevolgd en in 2006 heb ik besloten om naar Barcelona te gaan. In 2012 ging ik naar India om mijn onderwijsvaardigheden verder te verdiepen. Ik registreerde bij de Hatha Yoga Training School, Patanjali International Yoga Foundation met Hatha Yoga meester, Jitendra Das in Rishikesh. In 2014 heb ik besloten om me te certificeren in Shakti Dance met Sara Avtar. Momenteel bied ik les aan in beide disciplines, Hatha Vinyasa en Shakti Dance.
Jeni was altijd een liefhebber van sport en beweging en was voortdurend betrokken bij diverse lichamelijke activiteiten. Toen ze yoga ontmoette gaf het haar de ruimte om te vertragen en om meer over haar lichaam te leren en te observeren; gemotiveerd, gezond en evenwichtig zijn. In 2013, met bijna tien jaar onderwijservaring, voelde ze dat het tijd was voor een verandering. Lesgeven geeft haar de mogelijkheid om de liefde voor yoga met andere mensen te delen en hen in staat te stellen een gezonder en vreedzaam zelf te vinden. Ze is ook gecertificeerd in Aerial Yoga.
This is a fantastic time of the year to visit and enjoy the white islands. Ibiza is a multi-faceted island. Although many know it for its famous clubs, Ibiza has got much more to offer and many secrets to discover. From stunning beautiful beaches and coves, to Ibizenc villages, Catalan food, and the amazing UNESCO-listed old town of Ibiza, the charms of the island are unlimited.
You will be sailing from some of the famous Ibiza beaches to quieter sandy coves backed by pine-clad hills found all around the coastline. During your stay there, you will feel a different energy around Ibiza, with the rock of Benirras in the north of the island, and the majestic rock of Es Vedra in the south, Ibiza is known as the third most magnetic place in the world.
Formentera is a smaller island with white sandy long beaches to dream for, coves and cliffs, and possibly the most turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. You can also decide to go and discover the island with the opportunity to rent bikes or scooters. These two treasures of the Balearic Islands will slowly unveil their charms and secrets as the week goes by.
During this retreat, you will be served two daily daily vegetarian meals including breakfast and lunch. Breakfast will consist typically of teas and coffee, toasts, avocado, tomatoes, and fresh cheese. Lunch will be a light mainly vegetarian fresh dish, delicious dips, and cold soups, accompanied by desserts such as fruit or juices.
If the weather allows, you will moor in nice beaches with nice beach restaurants to enjoy dinner. However, you are also welcomed to stay on board and cook your own food or with the ones also staying in. Snacks such as nuts, fresh fruits, muesli, juices, and vegetable milks will always be available on the boat.
Please book your flight to arrive at Ibiza Airport (IBZ). Please ensure you coordinate your flights to meet the Saturday 13:45 embarking. The Club Nautico at Ibiza port is really easy to reach from the airport.
From the airport, it should take about about 25 minutes by taxi and should not cost more that 15 EUR.
