The 50-hour yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya Mandiram in Chiangmai, Thailand is a short yoga teacher training course over a duration of seven days and six nights.
You will be accommodated for six nights at Maewin Guesthouse and Resort. Offering you the most relaxed and tranquil stay possible is their primary target. Their rooms vary from a number of private bungalows with terraces to a big Thai-Lanna style teak wood house. Your accommodation for the training is a traditional Thai-style wooden bungalow house. There are private single rooms, twin rooms, and triple dorm room options available for individual preferences. All rooms are non-air-conditioning with a fan provided and an attached bathroom with a hot shower in each room.
The course/hours count as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®) only.
This short teacher training course allows those interested to study the arts of yoga in a structured and holistic approach. The program covers the essential basic foundation that is useful for those who are beginners or have been practicing yoga as a hobby.
Yoga Vidya Mandiram aims to bring depth of understanding and practice into the foundations of yoga studies. The program is designed to integrate body, mind, and breath practices to achieve a well-rounded yoga study to inspire students in their personal and spiritual growth.
The curriculum covers the fundamental elements of yoga based on essential subjects consisting of pranayama, shatkriya, asana practices, yoga philosophy, yoga anatomy, relaxation (yoga Nidra), and meditation. For asana practices, the school focuses on Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga styles of asana.
You will go through six days of training with one rest day per week. The rest day is one of the weekdays to avoid tourists and traffic during the weekends. This training is suitable for those who:
This 50-hour yoga training will be scheduled on six days for the intensive study and practices and on the seventh day, there will be a half-day Holy Shrine and Temples visit. During this yoga teacher training, you will be provided with three yoga vegetarian meals including fruit refreshments and green tea. They encourage the students to go sleep early about 10:00 p.m. as that is conducive to the yoga training. The first day of the course will start with an opening fire ceremony at 10:30 a.m.

On your rest day, Yoga Vidya Mandiram organizes an excursion for you that may involve either a cultural activity or a natural visit to the local area.
Acharya Chandramani was born in a traditional spiritual family. When he was 8 years old, he became a serious practitioner of the yogic principles of Swetambara Jaina tradition. Later, he was initiated into the Vedic Sanskrit tradition by Swami Vivekananda at the age of 10 in Prabhat Ashram, UP, India. He was fully dedicated to the teachings and daily discipline of the traditional Sanskrit gurukulam from childhood to adulthood. He has been guiding worldwide yoga students into the Vedic Sanskrit literature and its philosophy and holding yoga retreats and teacher trainings for over 25 years.
Nishant Tyagi has been a dedicated yoga practitioner for over a decade. His journey with yoga began as a means to heal from depression and has since become a lifelong passion. Through the practice of yoga and its comprehensive philosophy, Nishant achieved a balanced state of mental, emotional, and physical health, leading to profound personal transformation. Nishant's teaching approach is deeply rooted in his personal experiences and professional training. He excels in yoga asana, with a particular focus on alignment and adjustments.
Yoga Vidya Mandiram will be holding this unique training at MaeWin Guesthouse and Resort in Chiangmai, Thailand. The mountain ranges of Chiangmai are a part of the system of hills extending through Laos, Burma, and China. It is here that begins to rise the chain of the Himalayas and the place includes the highest peak in the country, Doi Inthanon. The fertile region of mountains, valleys and rivers, the north, and its provinces are a paradise for nature lovers. Maewin Guesthouse is a peaceful and quiet country resort located in one of the most beautiful parts of the valley, Mae Wang.
Chiang Mai is 55 kilometers from Maewin Guest House and Resort, while Mae Rim is 43 kilometers from the property. Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) is 36 kilometers away. Due to their convenient situation in the unspoiled Karen village Mae Sapok, located in the outskirts of Chiang Mai, they are able to provide you with numerous adventures. Beautiful waterfalls, the king's royal project, elephant sanctuaries, and Thailand's highest mountain are only a few of the places that can be easily visited from here.
With a breathtaking landscape and nature, they also provide a number of trekking and hiking tours. Furthermore, professional Thai massages can be arranged privately in the room. You will be served three vegetarian (no eggs) meals per day as well as afternoon tea or herbal juice throughout the days included in the price. The food is carefully prepared with organic vegetables and ingredients. Filtered water and herbal tea are also available. The menu is creative and balanced with proteins so you feel full and satisfied. If you are planning to have fasting on any day, please inform Yoga Vidya Mandiram to help them avoid food waste.
No consumption of non-vegetarian (i.e. meat, poultry, eggs, etc.), including eggs (Yoga Vidya Mandiram follows Indian vegetarian rules), within accommodation or school or resort premise. They realize that not everyone interested in the course is pure vegetarian. However, by signing up and booking for this course, you have agreed to their disciplines and diet requirements. You are responsible for bringing dietary supplements that they require during the duration of the course.
If you really need non-vegetarians from time to time, you may discreetly plan your meals outside the school. Please do not request Yoga Vidya Mandiram staff to prepare non-vegetarian meals, including eggs. Yoga Vidya Mandiram School has rented out 90 percent of the resort during the training. There will be guests from tour groups, not attending the training, who take their usual non-vegetarian diet and occasional beer within the resort.
Yoga Vidya Mandiram does not impose discipline on them as they are not their students. They also do not force the resort to omit these options from the menu. However, they expect their students to follow school rules and discipline while staying on the premises. The school has the right to ask a student to leave the training without certification if he or she does not follow or violate the school discipline.

Buses run roughly every hour from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, departing from Bangkok’s Mo Chit Station and arriving at Chiang Mai’s Eastern (main) Bus Terminal. The first departure of the day is at 5:30 a.m. and the last is at 10:00 p.m. From Bangkok, the journey takes about 10 hours and there are a variety of busses available, with the VIP busses being the by far the most comfortable. Bus prices range from 12 USD to 25 USD per trip from Bangkok to Chiangmai. Maewin Guesthouse and Resort is 53 kilometers in the southern direction from Chiangmai city and 55 kilometers from Chiangmai International Airport (CNX).
The bus for Mae Wang district leaves from the corner of Wualay Road and Chang Lor Road, opposite the Chiangmai Gate (one of the four city gates) on the south side of the moat that surrounds the old city. Look for a bus that goes to บ้านกาด (Baan Kaad), it is a yellow pick-up truck with seats at the back and a sign on the roof, the route stops in Mae Wang. Sit till the end of the line which is five kilometers passed Baan Kaad fresh market. The ride costs only 35 THB per passenger. From there, you have to pay an extra fee of around 250 to 300 THB to reach the guesthouse.
If you are traveling from within Thailand, you could take the train from the city into Chiangmai province. The journey takes about 12 hours from Bangkok, but evening trains feature comfortable bunks with or without air-conditioners. Train tickets from Bangkok are between 600 and 1,000 THB for a train ticket depending on the level of comfort you want.
Yoga Vidya Mandiram is happy to assist you in arranging a taxi pick up once you arrive in Chiangmai. The taxi fee and travel time will depend on your pick up location and traffic. It is an average of 1 hour and 12 minutes from Chiangmai International Airport (CNX) to the guesthouse by taxi and costing around 1,500 to 2,000 THB per trip.
