During this surf camp, you will be staying in Surf Star Morocco with the choice of private room or shared room. You will be in the ultimate Moroccan surf camp location! Surf spots such as Taghazout Bay, k17, hash point, panoramas, anchor point, and killer point can be seen from your rooftop terrace! Surf Star have created the Surf Yoga Retreats with you in mind. Experience revitalizing Vinyasa flow sequences, relaxing Hatha poses and dynamic Ashtanga classes. Fueled by our passion for making people feel at their best, our yoga classes’ compliment the days surf sessions by stretching out worked out arms, lower backs and shoulders. Our teachers are experienced, qualified and specifically selected for their uplifting and inspiring approaches to the practice of yoga. Whether you are a yoga teacher looking for an escape in the sunshine, or a total beginner, everyone is welcome to enjoy yoga at Surf Star’s unique and active retreats.

About the Yoga setting

Berber Morocco offers one of the brightest, friendliest cultures in the world. Locals have created an art out of relaxing with friends, drinking mint tea and living a stress -free life. Add the fun, energizing and laidback surfer’s lifestyle to that mix and you will find yourself in Tamraght and Taghazout in our brand new surf camp, the perfect location for your Surf Yoga Retreat! Yoga classes take place on our rooftop terrace – the spectacular ocean view is instantly calming and as the sun sets the colours of the sky are reflected across the ocean waves. Our stunningly beautiful ocean view terrace shows a 180° view over 6 surf spots and the beautiful Atlas Mountains. Sunset Yoga Session will take place on the rooftop terrace overlooking the spectacular views of the ocean and incredible Moroccan sunset.

Morning surfing lesson

The groups are split between beginner and intermediate lessons, and a surf guiding crew. When you have your equipment, your surf instructors will drive you in search of the perfect waves with good music for the journey! As there are around 20 local surf spots you will explore the local coastline at surf spots near and far. We also do surf trips sometimes across the coast to other surf villages to get you to the best waves! The morning session includes a 2/3hour Surf Lesson with individual and group tuition for those on the Surf Lesson Package.

Afternoon surfing lesson

The surf lessons crew have the afternoon free to keep surfing or to hang out. The group may also move depending always on where the best waves are that day. The surf guiding crew usually head to a different spot or 2 to surf a selection of surf spots.

Beginners surf lesson

Riding a wave is one of the best feelings in the world! And there is no better place to learn than at a surf school with daily lessons, experienced qualified staff, and fun people to share the experience with! This package is aimed at guests who have not surfed before or have tried it once or twice. You will learn about rips, tides, and surfers’ etiquette. The sky is the limit.

The easygoing, friendly, and hardworking surf instructors use a mix of group and individual feedback to give you the tuition you need to have fun and progress your surf skills. When back at the surf camp Surf Star Morocco even takes the time to give you photo so that you get the very best surf lessons in Morocco and the most out of your surf camp experience.

What you will learn:

Beach safety and about surf equipment
Positioning yourself correctly both on the surfboard and in the ocean
How to paddle, pop up, and ride your first wave in the broken white water waves
How to get out back to the green unbroken waves and ride them in to the beach
How to play with speed and turn in both directions
Rips, tides and surfers etiquette

Intermediate surf lesson

The intermediate surf package is designed for surfers who need a flexible mix of surf lessons and surf guiding. Experience cruising down the Moroccan coastline with good music and group of like minded surfers in search for the perfect ride! If you already know surfing basics and can catch green unbroken waves then this is the package for you.

The highly experienced, qualified and super fun surf instructors will do all they can to ensure that your surf technique, water confidence and surf style improves. Our surf guides have unbeatable local knowledge of where and when to take you surfing and will show you cultural extras to add something unique to your surf adventure!

What you will learn:

Learn more about surfing safety, rips and tides
Improve your timing, positioning and take off
Improve or learn to play more with speed and perfect your turns
Improve your paddle technique and how to get out the back
Learn how to/how to improve your bottom turn, cutback and other maneuvers
Progress to surfing a variety of surfboards including NSP, mini mal, longboard, short board, fish, gun and hybrid.
To surf a variety of surf spots including beach brakes, point breaks and reefs.

Advanced surf lesson

Surf from dusk till dawn, eat delicious food, stay in relaxing surf house accommodation and explore the incredible Moroccan Berbere Culture. Set in the perfect location you will be able to check the surf from your balcony.

The advanced surf guiding package offers the chance for established surfers who have the ability to surf point breaks and reef breaks, daily surf guiding by experienced local surfers who are committed to the search of the perfect ride.

The qualified surf guides know the area and culture ‘like the back of their hand’ and are committed to getting you to the best waves of the day every day. Imagine cruising across the Moroccan coastline with the music playing, the sun shining and the swell pumping. Maybe you’ll drive past a herd of camels or a bunch of goats climbing trees. Surf Star Morocco's fantastic chefs ‘The Brahim’s’ serve delicious Moroccan cuisine every night (apart from Fridays) offering a mix of traditional Tagine and couscous dishes, healthy salads, plenty of fresh vegetables, delicious BBQs, fresh meats/fish and tasty veggie options. Friday nights are left free for you to explore the local restaurants in Taghazout, Tamraght or Agadir city. Brahim’s meals are a real hit with the guests leaving everyone feeling satisfied, happy and full.

Surf Star Morocco recognizes the need to eat healthy hearty meals when exercising so dinners are served as a buffet each evening on the ocean view terrace after yoga. Enjoy a tasty selection of breakfast plates includes local fresh fruits, yogurts, and healthy smoothies.

Let Surf Star Morocco know if you are vegetarian or has other dietary requirements. Surf Star Morocco’s in-house chef Brahim prepares a variety of really delicious vegetarian Moroccan style meals so we are confident that you will be full and satisfied.

Breakfast

Each morning, you will be served big tasty breakfast with something different each day including a mix of smoothies, juices, fresh fruit, fresh coffee, teas, fresh local breads still warm from the bakery, Berbere local treats, jams and spreads, cereals, pancakes, yogurts and more.

Lunch

A nutritious and tasty lunch is served as a picnic at the beach with salads or sandwiches, fresh fruits, snacks and bottled water as you relax under the surf star sun umbrellas. We also take you to selected local cafes for Tagine lunches from time to time to show you where the locals eat.

Dinner

A delicious Moroccan Dinner is served 6 days per week overlooking the stars and the ocean with views across the Taghazout and Tamraght surf villages. A mixture of mouthwatering cuisine is served from our in-house chefs including fresh vegetables, local meats and seafood, traditional tagines, freshly prepared couscous dishes, BBQs, soups, and sweet deserts always served with fresh mint tea. After dinner enjoy video and photo feedback sessions, chilled social nights and the occasional beach party.

Experience Gadir shopping, marina, and nightlife

Surf Star Morocco is 20 to 30 minutes’ drive or bus ride away from Agadir where you will find nightlife, shops, restaurants, and a beautiful beach and Marina. Agadir has the largest souk or else known as Moroccan market in the area as well as some awesome night life.

Go to Banana Village Aourir

Surf Star Morocco is a three-minute drive from Banana Village where you will find local friendly shops where you can buy Berbere Tagines, plates, lamps, and much more. Enjoy the Wednesday souk market, the café culture and take in the culture shock.

Go to Essaouira

Artsy, interesting, and beautiful. Surf Star Morocco is three hours’ drive or coach from Essaouira, a beautiful blue and white fishing town with a large wind surfing culture. This town is great for artists as it is filled with galleries, tasteful shops, and stunningly beautiful. Surf Star Morocco can arrange your trip there for you as well as accommodation. Go to Marrakech

Experience the amazing city of Marrakech. Just a three-hour coach journey away, you will be able to see the buzzing souk markets, snake charmers, and discover more of Morocco’s incredible culture. Let Surf Star Morocco know and they will help you arrange your trip and your accommodation there.

Taghazout is a funky and cool little surf and fishing village just five minutes away. World famous for surfers, Taghazout offers cafes, restaurants, and little shops. You may also see wandering goats in the streets so get ready for some culture shock.

Arrival by plane

Agadir is the closest airport, just 45 minutes drive from the surf house. Marrakech is the second closest airport which takes 3 or 3.5hours coach ride to Agadir on CTM or Supratours bus services and then a 25 minutes taxi to the surf camp. Most European airlines fly to Agadir or Marrakech.

To book an Agadir Airport pick up, please send your arrival details to Surf Star Morocco including your flight number, airline name and time of arrival to Agadir Airport. Surf Star Morocco will pick you up from the arrivals area of Agadir Airport with a Surf Star Morocco sign and their driver will bring you directly to the house. Feel free to ask your driver to stop to collect alcohol as there are no local bars but you can drink at the surf camp.

To book an Agadir bus station pick up, please email Surf Star Morocco with your bus name and time of arrival. Their driver will collect you from the point where you exit the coach with a Surf Star Morocco sign.

FREE return Agadir transfers are included in the 7 night/+ packages. A free arrival transfer is included in 5/6 night packages. Agadir Airport transfers cost 30 EUR per way. Agadir Bus Station or Agadir Hotel transfers cost 15 EUR per way.

If you choose to fly into Marrakech Airport, from there get a taxi to either bus station: CTM or Supratours. Here you can get a ticket for the next bus to Agadir. If the buses are full at one bus station you can easily get a taxi to the other. Find out your estimated time of arrival and then contact Surf Star Morocco, which will then arrange for a taxi to pick you up where you exit the bus in Agadir Bus Station.
