XVA Art Hotel occupies the former home of the Seddiqi family. The inspired owner, Mona Hauser has created 14 unique and individual guest rooms which showcase architectural and cultural motifs of the region. Within an internationally acclaimed art gallery, the hotel also boasts an award-winning restaurant. The public areas consisting of three courtyards, which are air-conditioned in the summer months, are tree-shaded and tranquil, offering quiet corners for poets, artists and visitors alike. Many of the works on display, including those by resident artist, Halim Al Karim, provide an insight into the art of the Middle East for which XVA Gallery is known. With its three original wind towers, a sumptuous lounge and starry rooftop for the solace-seeking guests, this centrally located hotspot is the city’s sexiest and best-kept secret retreat.
This yoga retreat will include a variety of styles such as Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Nidra which will take place in the courtyard and on the rooftop of the hotel. Soul Studio has also incorporated a little something extra for you to unwind. This yoga retreat will also include a combination of classes of dynamic and energetic practices and restorative and calming classes. You will also have some free time for optional activities or just to relax.
The Vinyasa Flow class will allow you to flow from one posture to another, help to increase flexibility as well as strengthening your upper body. This class will enable you to concentrate on connecting your breath with the posture. The postures will be combined by a series of sun salutations, downward dogs, and planks. The Flow movements in class will help you focus on particularly tight areas including your hips and hamstrings. This class is suitable for all levels and for those who prefer a faster-paced yoga experience.
Yin yoga is an inward-focused style of yoga where the poses are practiced lying down or sitting on the floor. Each pose is held for a longer period of time - up to four or five minutes per pose. It has a much slower pace, there is no flow, no rapid movement from one pose to the next, and no standing poses. The idea is to allow your body to fully relax into each pose, with the help of props to support you so there is no tension in the body. This will allow the connective tissue around your muscles, tendons, and ligaments to slowly release, thereby improving flexibility and circulation, meditative, and mindful approach to yoga. The perfect sunset evening class will bring wind down the day.
The Hatha yoga class will allow the body to feel energized by stretching and strengthening out the muscles. The sequence will include two breathing exercises performed at the beginning and end of class which will help you focus on the mind. The poses will enhance flexibility and stamina while allowing toxins to be flushed from the system. This class is suitable for all levels - variations for postures will be given in class to allow you to perform at your individual pace while still allowing you to challenge yourself.

Bhupinder started practicing Hatha yoga nine years ago and instantly felt the physical benefits of the postures. Being able to form the body into beautiful asanas that require patience, dedication, and concentration continues to inspire her. After visiting an ashram in India in 2012, she began to realize that yoga was not just impacting her life physically but also mentally. Having completed an inner engineering program developed by Sadguru, founder of Isha Yoga Foundation, she continued to dig deeper into the impact that yoga was having on her personal growth and the spiritual possibilities.
Yoga Alliance RYT 200
Dennise found her passion for life in yoga after leaving the corporate world behind in 2013. She completed her 200-hour certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa in Thailand, and soon after added Vinyasa Flow, pre and postnatal yoga, as well as her favorite practice, Yin yoga. Her classes convey a message of spirituality through guided meditations and sound healing while remaining grounded through body-breath movement and a few jokes here and there. Dennise encourages her students to curiously explore their own bodies through raising self-awareness and generating an understanding of the self.
This retreat will be taking place at the beautiful XVA Art Hotel in Dubai, UAE. XVA Art Hotel is located in the heart of the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, the oldest community in Dubai.
Unique for its Persian architectural heritage, the mystery of its traditional maze-like alleyways and proximity to the Creek, Al Fahidi is viewed as one of the most important heritage sites in Dubai.
