You will be accommodated in the sharing dorms at Glenbarr Retreat Centre. Situated on the outskirts of Strathalbyn, Glenbarr is a heritage-listed homestead set on 35 acres of gently undulating farming land alongside the meandering Middle Creek. Its intimate and rustic feel is perfect for disconnecting and taking time for yourself while on meditation retreat. Glenbarr is located 45 minutes southwest of Adelaide, in the quiet rural countryside near Strathalbyn.
Glenbarr was originally a home for Scottish pioneers and was one of the first buildings in Strathalbyn built in 1842. The buildings are a unique insight to the lifestyle of the early pioneers in rural Australia.
Many of the original buildings are used by groups with modern accommodation and bathroom facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. You will be accommodated on sharing basis in twin rooms. There are separate rooms for men and women. Modern communal bathroom facilities are available.
Facilities are provided separately for males and females. The accommodation may be basic, but the views, space, and country air make up for it. This venue really gives you a chance to "disconnect" from your everyday world, and enjoy gorgeous countryside while immersing in your spiritual growth while on retreat. All rooms have heating, however in winter, you might wish to bring a wheat bag or hot water bottle for bed warming.
Please do not forget to bring your own linen including single sheet set or sleeping bag, blankets, pillow and pillowcase, towels, face wash, and soap. There are extra camp-style blankets available in bedrooms.

It is also recommended that you should attend the Skillful Mind technique retreat and preferably the advanced retreat also. The most important pre-requisit, however, is that you are willing to put in effort. You should consider this retreat more as a personal transformation journey than a holiday.

Peter is a life coach, meditation teacher, and neuro-linguistic programming trainer. He teaches students though the lens of a calm mind to help bring peace, happiness, and joy to their lives. Peter's unique background as a Buddhist monk empowers his retreats to be so much more than an ordinary getaway, it becomes a journey in itself. Peter began coaching and teaching meditation to small groups in 2004. He left the corporate world behind in 2009 to teach meditation, neuro-linguistic programming, and personal development full time.
Mardi is Skillful Mind's Kundalini yoga instructor, meditation leader, event manager, and refresh leaders program coordinator. After attending a yoga retreat with Skillful Mind in 2014, Mardi is working with Skillful Mind towards creating the best experience for retreat attendees. From her own love of yoga and meditation, she became one of the first refresh meditation leaders, and now manages the leaders program. She is also a Kundalini yoga instructor and loves sharing the benefits of meditation and yoga in her weekly classes and on retreat.

During this retreat, you will be served delicious and nourishing vegetarian meals from Friday night supper until the lunch on Sunday. The menu has been designed as healthy and wholesome in a home-cooked style. It is a simple vegetarian fare but is full of flavor, and your body will thank you for the nourishment.
