The Symons Retreat Centre at Nunyara offers comfortable, modern, hotel style accommodation. All rooms have reverse cycle heating and cooling. The Symons Center consists of five upstairs two bedroom apartments which sleep up to four people, with their own bathroom.

Yoga

Yoga is meditation of the body for connection with mind. This retreat is designed specifically for those who want to reconnect with themselves and enhance their body-mind connection through movement, posture, breathing, meditation, mantra, learning, and self-reflection. Based on Kundalini yoga and meditation philosophies, your teachers will share with you simple techniques from varied traditions that will work on re-establishing union between bodies, minds, and spirit.

The classes are designed for everyone from complete beginners to those that have some experience with yoga. This is not a workout weekend, but the space to take time out and become aware of who you are and reconnect.

Meditation

Take a journey into the foundations of meditation, designed especially for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of the benefits a meditation practice can bring. Over the weekend, Peter will share his down to earth, highly informative yet gentle meditation instructions. This meditation retreat is ideal if you are new to meditation, or still learning, but want to go beyond simple guided meditation.

By learning from techniques of the past, you will master the basics and gain a solid understanding of what meditation is, how it works, and how it can benefit your mind and body. Based solidly in the Buddhist tradition, yet free from religion, Peter brings his own modern style of logic and practicality to make meditation a part of your every day life.

  • Peter Radcliffe

    Peter is a life coach, meditation teacher, and neuro-linguistic programming trainer. He teaches students though the lens of a calm mind to help bring peace, happiness, and joy to their lives. Peter's unique background as a Buddhist monk empowers his retreats to be so much more than an ordinary getaway, it becomes a journey in itself. Peter began coaching and teaching meditation to small groups in 2004. He left the corporate world behind in 2009 to teach meditation, neuro-linguistic programming, and personal development full time.

  • Mardi Rogers

    Mardi is Skillful Mind's Kundalini yoga instructor, meditation leader, event manager, and refresh leaders program coordinator. After attending a yoga retreat with Skillful Mind in 2014, Mardi is working with Skillful Mind towards creating the best experience for retreat attendees. From her own love of yoga and meditation, she became one of the first refresh meditation leaders, and now manages the leaders program. She is also a Kundalini yoga instructor and loves sharing the benefits of meditation and yoga in her weekly classes and on retreat.

This retreat will take place in Symons Center, Belair, Australia. The Symons Retreat Centre at Nunyara is a smaller intimate style retreat venue. It's part of the Nunyara Conference Centre which is situated in the Adelaide Hills in Belair.

During the retreat, you will be provided yummy meals from Friday night nibbles until Sunday lunch. Finger foods like dips, crackers, cheese, dried fruit, and nuts will be served during welcome, if you would like something more substantial, please either bring or go and get some food beforehand. A fridge, microwave, plates, etc. are available for use. You will be provided with meals from Friday night nibbles to Sunday lunch.

The menu has been designed as healthy and wholesome in a home cooked style. It's simple but is full of flavor and you body will thank you for the nourishment. The venues are also happy to cater for lactose or gluten free, vegetarian, vegan or any special dietary requirements you may have.
