On our yoga retreat Cornwall you’ll stay in gorgeous Mongolian-style yurts. They’re the ultimate in luxury camping. The yurts offer a unique back to nature experience. The wood-burning stove in the yurts will keep you warm on cooler evenings. Solar powered fairy lights add to the magical atmosphere. Each yurt has its own fire pit. We’ll be cooking on an open fire and relaxing around it to enjoy the bright stars at night. What a wonderful adventure! The yurt’s contain a double bed and single futons as well as flowers from the garden, beautiful bed spreads and colourful rugs. The bathrooms are a short stroll away.

Lots of guests on arrive independently on our yoga retreat Cornwall. There is a warm, kind and friendly atmosphere with communal activities and plenty of opportunity for you to take some quiet time for yourself too.

If you are travelling independently you will be sharing a yurt with two other lovely guests. There are two single futons and one double bed in each yurt so there will be plenty of space for you all.

Start the day with a vibrant Vinyasa flow yoga class. This fluid, dynamic and invigorating form of yoga will leave you energized and glowing! In the afternoon you’ll love the deeply calming and yin & restorative yoga classes. You’ll float out of these classes feeling revitalized and relaxed.

Your yoga classes will be filled with accessible teachings and ideas to inspire you and help you reconnect with what’s important to you and to feel so good about yourself. You’ll also experience meditation sessions and guided relaxations to leave you feeling serene, centered and with a new perspective on meditation.

Your yoga teacher, and Shine Yoga founder, Jennifer Austin passionately believes that yoga classes should feel fun, relaxed and inclusive. She loves to create exciting, flowing, original classes with careful sequencing in a joyful atmosphere. Her classes include laughter, new challenges, wisdom, music, meditation, poetry and anything else she can think of to make you feel really good.

There are 2 stunning spaces for yoga; a warm and comfortable indoor converted barn and outside in the sunshine if the weather allows. Over the retreat there will be 6 yoga classes. On your arrival and departure days these will be 60 minutes, then on Saturday and Sunday they will 90 – 120 minutes each.

You are welcome to arrive any time after 4.30pm on Friday evening. There will be a gentle evening yoga session to work out the travel kinks and start the relaxation process followed by a welcome dinner.

The weekend will end with a morning yoga session and breakfast before checkout at 10am on Monday morning. If you are unable to stay till Monday you can plan to head off on Sunday instead.

    Rishikesh Yog Peeth Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Hatha Yoga)

    Jennifer traveled to the birthplace of yoga, Rishikesh, India, to study traditional Hatha yoga and gain her 200-hour RYT certification at Rishikesh Yog Peeth. After her teacher training, she continued to teach and practice while traveling the world and experiencing many different styles and methods of yoga, Hatha and Ashtanga yoga in India, Vinyasa flow in Sri Lanka, Iyengar in the Caribbean, and Anusara in Thailand. After trekking through the Himalayas, she studied meditation in Nepal and in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, she trained in Thai yoga massage.

Explore the dramatic coastline, picturesque fishing villages, and stunning beaches of Cornwall. Stay at a small traditional Cornish family-run farm nestling in a quiet unspoilt valley a mile from some of Cornwall’s most idyllic beaches and close to the Fowey River. Just across a narrow inlet is the town of Fowey with its award winning restaurants, cafes, delis, and traditional Cornish pubs. Experience all the freedoms of the great outdoors whilst enjoying some of the life's luxuries.

Green juices, raw brownies, super food salads, fruit topped chia puddings and walnut chocolate chilli cooked on the open fire. From your morning smoothie to your blackcurrant & vanilla tea before bed you will nourish your body with the most delicious, healthy food to leave you feeling energized, detoxed and radiant with health.

You’ll leave the retreat full of inspiration to create healthy and delicious dishes at home and with some brilliant recipes your friends will love. During your free time, you are free to

  • Walk along the coastal path, enjoying stunning views (we’ll provide you with maps, directions and suggestions of where to explore).
  • Go wild swimming in one of the UK’s top wild swimming spots.
  • Hire a Kayak or SUP board and explore on water.
  • Take the ferry over to picturesque Fowey and wander through the cobbled lanes in and out of Cornish bakeries, tiny boutiques and art galleries.
  • Discover a hidden beach (we’ll tell you how to reach our favorite local bays and beautiful secluded beaches).
  • Relax in the wood fired hot tub, perfect during the day between classes or in the evening when the stars are out.
  • Chat around the open fire in our fire pit, sipping on herbal tea, cozy and content.
  • Book a massage with our trained massage therapist for the ultimate in relaxation.

Driving directions from A30 (Bodmin)

  • Take A38 towards Liskeard
  • Turn right signposted to West/East Taphouse and Looe
  • Follow this road until you reach the A390 and turn left towards Liskeard
  • At Middle Tap House turn right on B3359 towards Polruan
  • Continue on this road until just before Lanreath and take the right turn signposted for Polruan.
  • Continue on this road through Lanteglos Highway until you reach a telephone box on the left and turn left, again signposted to Polruan.
  • Continue on this road for approximately one mile until you come to a T-junction and turn left towards Pleynt, not Polruan.
  • Continue up the hill past Tredudwell Manor and take the second left, it is an unsigned road.
  • You will see a pair of farm cottages on top of the hill. Pass the cottages, which will be on your right, and continue over the top of the hill and past a large new farm track on your right.
  • Tremeer Farm is on the right, look for granite gateposts.

Arrival by airplane

You can fly direct to Newquay airport from many cities in the UK and Europe. From Newquay airport it’s about a 50 minute transfer to the yoga retreat Cornwall. The cost of a taxi will be around 50 GBP.

Arrival by train

The nearest train stations to the yoga retreat Cornwall are Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard. It’s about a 20 minute transfer from each of these stations. To plan your rail journey take a look at thetrainline. If you are travelling from London to the yoga retreat Cornwall we recommend booking the 12.05pm train from London Paddington on Friday and the 11.19am train back from Bodmin Parkway on the Monday.

    "I went to the shine yoga retreat in Cornwall last weekend. It was everything I wanted and more! Excellent teaching; idillic location and fantastic food. The only slight down side were the horse-flies who thought I was tasty but that can't be helped. Staying in the yurt was so much fun and it was comfortable and spacious. The farm is a bit tricky to find but some local people kindly helped me. There is plenty to see and do outside the camp, I really recommend a trip to Lantic Bay. I attended the retreat independently As did most of the other members of the group. Jen, the instructor, fostered a very positive attitude within the group and over a short time we really bonded. There was a fantastic community feel about the retreat. All in all it was wonderful and excellent value for money. Go, go now!"

    "I attended the Yoga retreat in France in 2014, it had so many levels, invigorating and restful, amazing food and fantastic company. Jenny's Yoga classes were fantastic, suiting the beginner as well as the experienced Yogi or yogini. I loved it so much that in 2015 I also did one of the amazing Cornwall retreats staying in Yurts, ultimate glamping, with Swedish hot tub which was amazing after a yoga class. The food was amazing, delicious and skilfully prepared and cooked by Jenny. I strongly recommend these retreats, in fact I love them so much I am going on the Morocco retreat in March can't wait."
