    During the teacher training, you will stay in a private accommodation at Balu Hostel (former Hotel Paraiso Mexicano). Surrounded by a beautiful nature and equipped with an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, and free Wi-Fi, you will enjoy the yoga teacher training program to the fullest.

    The rooms

    The rooms offer a cable TV, air conditioning, and a coffee machine and are equipped with a bath or shower.

    Balu Hostel offers a 24-hour front desk, grocery deliveries, and a tour desk service for you during your stay.

    This 200-hour yoga teacher training is located on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The program blends the ancient philosophy of yoga science with the contemporary art of teaching yoga as a transformational practice of self-care, health, and wellness. This training program is approved by the National Yoga Alliance and meets the standards for certification through that organization.

    The group will meet every day from 07:00 to 17:00 or 18:00, except for Tuesdays. There will be one-hour breaks for eating, resting, and studying. This program includes experiential learning, with information provided via a variety of formats, which include direct participation in the physical practice of asana, lecture, group discussion, reading assignments, alignment demos, and interactive adjustments.

    The program is focused on Hatha or Vinyasa yoga. The core focus is yoga of the East and yoga of the West. You will learn to teach more than 60 basic foundational yoga poses, including modifications with props and variations. In addition, you will learn to adapt and teach many of these core asanas as both Restorative supported poses and a variation to teach as a vigorous Vinyasa Flow.

    In this yoga teacher training, you will learn yoga as a holistic mind and body inquiry to know oneself and be empowered by the inherent wisdom within. Red Buddha Yoga and Wellness' program stands out for offering:

    • 07:00 Chanting, pranayama, seated meditation; some days there will be walking meditation or ocean meditation
    • 08:00 In-depth look at Patanjali's Yoga Sutras
    • 09:00 Asana for all (ancient techniques from Hatha yoga Pradipika, Ayurvedic yoga)
    • 10:00 Intermediate asana (If you need to note take if practice is too challenging the first week, this is an option)
    • 11:00 Break and homework time
    • 13:00 Main lecture: yoga principles, philosophy, yoga sutra, history, Pathanjali Sutras, theory on teaching training
    • 15:00 Evening asana practice
    • 17:00 Free time to shower and have light dinner

    • Meg DeClerck

      Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)

      Meg has been a student of various forms of asana-based yoga, yoga philosophy, and meditation since 1997, and was certified 14 years ago. Her down-to-earth, generous, and loving classes are living labs for self-discovery, acceptance, and truth. She holds certification in holistic Himalayan yoga, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, meditation, theory (from Kaivalyadhama Institute), and sound healing. Meg is an E-RYT 500 and founder of a 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour RYS, the first school ever to be registered on the island of Isla Mujeres in Mexico with Yoga Alliance.

    • Lucia Di Cesare

      Lucia is a graduate from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She is a registered holistic nutritionist and currently lives in Isla Mujeres promoting a healthy lifestyle. She feels so fortunate to have met Meg DeClerck at Red Buddha Yoga & Wellness. With Meg’s gift for yoga and meditation and Lucia’s passion for food and fitness, they are able to offer their clients a complete program that incorporates mind, body, and spirit.

    • Nirit Ben David

      Nirit Ben David is a specialist in Chinese medicine in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. She is a licensed Shiatsu massage and acupuncturist who promotes wellness and healing of the body, mind, and spirit through her rejuvenating services. Having studied and practiced Chinese medicine in Israel for seven years, she will personalize the Shiatsu massage or acupuncture session to promote the best experience based on individual needs.

    • Marcia Collado

      Marcia has been a yogini for 10 years and received her YTT from Mayra Cadengo, founder of Mexico’s first YTT school and developer of a yogic flow method called Mandala Vinyasa. Marcia specializes in beginner to intermediate practices to welcome new hearts into the world of yoga. Her dynamic but gentle presence will guide you on a rewarding journey to yourself.
