Hotel Malemi is situated within walking distance of the scenic fishing village Skala Kalloni. This family-run hotel aims to make you feel at home. The elegant rooms have a warm atmosphere and are equipped with many wooden elements.The garden is full of palm and fruit trees. The vegetable garden is offering the main ingredients for the organic dishes at the buffet.
The swimming pool is half Olympic size so you can exercise in the pool too.
There are many sunbeds and umbrella's, a bar and a gigantic chess game. The toddler pool is fun for the little ones. There's a special patio for the evening sessions, with shadow and overlooking the vegetable garden. Next to the swimming pool, there's the animal shelter, with big and small animals. The kittens are the most popular. The playground has a lot to offer for the children too, In the lobby, there's a big screen to watch movies.
In the hotel there's a wifi zone, we are preparing wifi accessibility in the whole property including all rooms. There's television in each room with international channels like BBC and CNN. Each room has a fridge and a hairdryer.
During this holiday, you will be able to enjoy daily yoga and/or Pilates classes, which will support your physical and spiritual well-being with mindfulness at the core of each practice. The morning practice will be at the beach and the evening class will be on a patio with lovely garden views.
Do not worry about your experience, a qualified teacher will cater for all levels. If you are a beginner, you will be provided with all the modifications that you might need to fully enjoy your practice, and if you are an advanced student, you will also be suggested more challenging asanas.
Barbara has a technical approach to both disciplines, dance and yoga, while also being precise with breath awareness. She will offer you the best of both worlds with a fresh approach to teaching the Yoga Asanas and Pilates exercises. She also finds it important to have fun during class. Barbara Rose will teach in English and Dutch at the same time
Typical pilates: exercises that concentrate on the use of the core muscles. Good for injuries and physical discomfort. You will get stronger core muscles and a better posture. It supportsbuilding stability and increases flexibility. Pilates is widely embraced by the dance community because of its benefits to ballet and dance technique in general.
Yin yoga postures are more passive postures, mainly on the floor. You're asked to relax in the posture for a longer period. It is a more meditative approach with a physical focus. As one ages, flexibility in the joints and muscles decreases and Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain flexibility. Many people don't seem to be too concerned about it, until they notice their flexibility has gone. The intimate practice of yoga requires students to be ready to become intimate with themselves, with their feelings, sensations and emotions. We tend to forget this in our fast daily lives.
On this retreat, there will be no pilates class. Only Yin yoga offered and will be taught by Mirjam Couvreur.
Organic Yoga Greece offers a day trip to visit other places on the island. Its included in the package. There are many beautiful tracks, to the salt lakes with flamingos, to the monastery, and through the old forest. These tracks are well marked. They offer guided tours for free as well, so you don't have to walk alone. Most excursions are done by participants together, sharing the car or traveling together by scooter.
You visit the mountain villages, the petrified forest, other beaches, museums and warm water springs. In the evening you can walk to the village, its very lively with taverna's, beach bars, and shops.
Lauren has spent the majority of her life living and breathing dance; everything from Classical Ballet to Street Jazz inspires her to move. She discovered yoga in her early twenties whilst struggling to balance university, teaching dance and work at a group home. Yoga changed her life. It changed the way she thinks about herself, about life and about the world. She draws from all of her experience (Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Bikram) to build progressive sequences that foster steadiness, awareness and a deep connection between breath and body.

At the family Hotel Malemi Organic, you will enjoy organic food taken straight from the garden. Its garden full of fruit trees allows them to offer fresh jams for your breakfast. Make sure to also try their own pressed olive oil. Every day the cooks surprise you with a variety of quality dishes they prepare. For breakfast, there are beside the homemade marmalades, cakes, and pies. Coffee, tea, and lemonade are included.
Of course, they offer bread, yogurt with cereals, egg variations, cheeses and more. At the evening buffet, there's meat, fresh fish, and several vegetable dishes, Tzaziki, pasta, rice, and potatoes. For dessert, there's always fresh fruit, but also homemade pies. You can help in the kitchen and learn how to do it. They even prepare dishes on request.
Between the lessons, you can have a refreshing swim in the pool or relax with a book on a sunbed. %We offer several excursions to other villages and beaches. Lesvos or Lesbos is also known for the unique petrified forest covering the Sigri-Eressos-Antissa area. It is a forest ecosystem that has been fossilized 15 to 20 million years ago due to the intense volcanic area. It is one of the rarest natural monuments in the world.
Lesvos is an ideal place for cycling, particularly in the area of Skala Kalloni. There are also beautiful circular walks. Along the Salt lakes with flamengos and another to the monastery's (open for visitors). Over the island, there are 27 tracks to do and they are all well marked or described in the guide. We offer guided tours for free too. The magic of the landscape will reward you. The hotel can provide to you all the information about routes you can take depending on the degree of difficulty you desire.
The surrounding is full of birds, the National Parc is around the corner. You can make a day trip by bicycle or rent a scooter to see the beautiful nature. You can also join by car, see other beaches and villages. You can take a scuba dive class as well. In the morning you can join the Greek language class and on demand, Organic Yoga Greece offers dance classes. For children, it offers activities too.
In the end, its your holiday, you can stay relaxed at the swimming pool or at the beach. Go the village where you can eat fresh sardines. Our familiar atmosphere makes you feel at home.

Please book your flight to arrive at Mytilene International Airport (MJT). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. You will be asked of all the details of your flight before you come, so Organic Yoga Greece can meet and welcome you at the airport.
From the airport, you can take a taxi to continue the journey. The hotel is about 50 kilometers away and it will cost you around 40 EUR to get there.
