Nepal Yoga Retreat is a is a sanctuary tucked in the hills of the Kathmandu valley, surrounded by temples. A center where you will find simple and wholesome organic food, Sanatam yoga, mantra singing, yoga philosophy explained, and guided meditation. It is a place that welcomes anyone seeking peace, quiet, solitude, healthy food, yoga training and instruction, piece of mind, and inward perspective. It is not a social vacation hot spot or an entertainment center; rather a place to calm the senses and to find ones own center.

The spacious deluxe twin bamboo cottages are available for guests. Rooms include two large single beds, fully equipped western style bathrooms including shower and toilet, warm bedding, fresh bed-sheets, wash towel, hand towel, toilet paper, hot water, shelving units, and power outlet. All cottages have a beautiful view overlooking the Sanku valley.

The 200-hour teacher training course delivers a intimate comprehensive, theoretical, and practical hands-on training program. Trainees emerge from the teacher training course as confident teachers with a strong and solid teaching skill set ready to begin their career. Alongside developing and perfecting the art of teaching, trainees also gain understanding of the practice of yoga asanas, philosophy, physiology, adjusting, mantra chanting, chakras, anatomy, ayurveda, mudras, pranayama and meditation, and other traditional and contemporary yoga techniques.

Assessment

The trainee will be assessed on class participation, lesson planning, practicum, chanting, leading a workshop, will have to teach a philosophy lesson and on-going observations during classes by the teacher. Trainees will receive valuable feedback on their teaching practicums from both the teacher and students, and will be required to meet certain teaching standards regarding knowledge of anatomy, asana alignment, adjustments, and communication.

Course requirements

Requirements to apply for the 200-hour teacher training course are an existing yoga practice, an open mind, commitment to learning, and motivation to become a worthy yoga teacher. Applicants with a beginner practice are welcome to apply for the training provided as they can display a high level of self-discipline during the course as it is physically, mentally, and spiritually demanding and also highly rewarding.

    Krishna is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher and is dedicated on sharing his insight into the authentic practice of yoga and empowering the students along the way. He has been teaching at the retreat for one year and takes great care in making the guests feel at home.

    Dr subodh is a dynamic individual with over 18 years of experience in teaching nature cure, yoga, and other spiritual healing with different techniques. He will be teaching the anatomy of yoga and elements of the yoga philosophy during the course.
