We will stay in a family-run yoga and meditation retreat center, located on top of a small hill, 5 minutes away from the lake and away from other guest houses. It is very quiet and feels quite secluded - a perfect place to do the exploration within (as well as without), surrounded by green hills, overlooking the lake and admiring the imposing Himalayas. The center has a covered yoga hall with the impressive views of the lake and the mountains. The rooms are simple, but comfortable and clean. You can choose whether you wish to have a room with a private or a shared bathroom.
We will practice two times a day in a stunning yoga hall with the view of the Himalayas and the Lake. Marija teaches traditional Hatha yoga, with a lot of emphasis on the proper alignment of the body, breath and focus. Apart from asana (posture), we will practice pranayama (yogic breathing), as well as meditation in each class. The classes are organized as workshops, during which we will explore different physical, mental and spiritual aspects of the practice. The retreat is suitable for all levels. Beginners will have the chance to get the taste of yoga and build a strong foundation for their yogic journey. More experienced yogis will deepen their understanding and get some inspiration to further develop their practice.
Mornings are reserved for our practice, which will usually take around 2 hours. We'll have an early start, and after the class, we will have a freshly prepared brunch.
Afternoons are filled with various activities – we will go on hikes into the mountains, or to visit local villages and see the traditional Nepalese lifestyle. On some days we will stay around the lake, swim, go on a boat ride and just soak up the incredible energy of this place.
Evenings will see us back in the center, having another shorter class (1-1.5 hours) before delicious home cooked buffet-style dinner around 7.00 PM. After dinner, there is free time for everybody.
All activities and classes are optional, and everybody is welcome to skip any of them any time they feel like it.
The retreat includes half-day or day long walks and visits to local villages. Possibility of renting bikes and boats to row on Begnas Lake.
Marija teaches Hatha yoga, infused with some elements of Vinyasa Flow and free movement exploration, with an emphasis on proper alignment, breathing, and focus. Her aim is to help students get a better understanding of their bodies and movements so that they can work together on developing their safe and sustainable personal practice. Meditation is an essential part of her classes. For her, to touch the essence of asana practice is to move mindfully, to develop body awareness and learn how to listen to our bodies with kindness and understanding.
The retreat will take place on the shores of Begnas Lake, some 13 kilometers away from Pokhara. While this area matches in beauty with Pokhara - with the calm waters of Begnas Lake and the views of Annapurna Range - it also offers the one thing that is missing in Pokhara: peace and quiet. There are just a few tourist facilities around, making it a perfect spot for a yoga and meditation retreat, as well as for enjoying a refreshing swim in the wonderfully clear Begnas Lake.

Brunch and dinner are included in the price of the retreat - they are served buffet style and are always freshly prepared. If you feel that you need another proper meal during the day, you can always order extra food at an additional cost. All the food served in the retreat center is vegetarian.
Please book you flight to arrive at Pokhara Airport (PKR) or Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). Transfer from and to these airports is available upon request.
