The MoaAlm Mountain Retreat has comfortable single, double, twin or triple rooms with en-suite bathroom. The rooms are stylishly decorated and spacious, sizes vary up to 24 square meters. All rooms have an en-suite private bathroom and stunning views. Some have balconies but not all. All rooms can be made up with one double or two single beds.

After an active day in the outdoors you can enjoy the astonishing view at the sunny terrace or relax in the living room with shared dining table to enjoy a drink at the bar, curl up on the sofa with a magazine or book, or enjoy a meal at the shared dining table.

Yoga studio

The in-house yoga studio has a panoramic mountain view and is the perfect place for an active start of the day with Vinyasa flow yoga or a relaxing session of restorative yoga in the afternoon. In the morning, the sunrise fills the room with energy and the late afternoon turns the mountains pink.

Ayurveda

On four days of the week, Daniela, your Ayurveda instructor, will provide 30 to 45 minute theory classes covering all the Ayurvedic basic principles such as:

  • The Ayurvedic principles of vata, pitta, and kapha
  • Guidelines for the three basic constitutional types
  • How to detox with Ayurveda
  • Understanding Ayurvedic cooking
  • The six tastes of Ayurveda
  • Herbs and spices in Ayurveda

Ayurvedic cooking workshop

In addition to the theoretic classes, Daniela will teach one full-day Ayurvedic cooking workshop. You will learn how to prepare basic Ayurvedic foods such as ghee, spices, warm drinks, and chutneys and you will help to prepare a full Ayurvedic lunch meal. You will be provided with the recipes of the meals eaten during the week. The aim is to provide all the information and skills you need to prepare healthy and nutritious Ayurvedic food in everyday life.

Detox

Detoxification is the process of removing toxic substances from the human body. The aim is to feel fit, fresh, and energized. At MoaAlm, they believe the best way to detox is a simple mix between consuming the right food and drinks, being active in the fresh air, and practicing breathing techniques. This yoga and detox retreat does not involve any fasting, medication, or physical cleansing.

Yoga

The word yoga means union in Sanskrit. At MoaAlm, they like to see yoga as the union between movement and breath. By synchronizing your breathing to the movements of your body you enhance your physical endurance and you learn to better understand your own body. Yoga poses help improve your flexibility and strength.

Yoga is for everyone, it doesn't matter how old, fit, or flexible you are! The yoga classes are always tailored to individual needs so that everyone can participate at his own level and pace.

This program is subjected to weather conditions and group preferences. All activities are optional.

On five days, MoaAlm Mountain Retreat will take you on guided outdoor activities (e.g. hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and/or tobogganing). No previous experience is required. However, it is important that you are not suffering from knee injuries to be able to participate in the activities. You have to able to walk up and down hill.

MoaAlm Mountain Retreat always try to make sure that the activities are suitable to individual needs, the group might get split up or provide a shorter and longer route for people with different fitness levels or ambitions. All the activities are optional and they are happy to provide with maps and suggestions if you prefer to go on self-guided adventures.

    Nelly is a professional 300-hour RYT yoga teacher. She loves yoga because it helps her connect to her body, listen to the body, understand what the body needs, and what it is capable of. Nelly hopes to empower her students and help them build a routine of physical exercise and relaxation in their often busy daily lives.

MoaAlm Mountain Retreat believes that food tastes best when it grows close-by. Their chef prepares the best home-made meals of the entire region. The ingredients are fresh, local, and organic whenever possible. During this yoga and detox week, you will focus on food and drinks that provide you with the needed nutrients without making you feel blowed or full. Sattvic foods will be used as a guiding principle in the preparation of the meals during this retreat.

Every morning, you will start the day with fruit, tea, and a juice smoothy packed with flavor and vitamins. After the morning yoga session, you will be served nutritious warm breakfast with loads of fruits, oats, nuts, but also diary products and bread. A warm lunch will be served as the meal of the day because the digestive fire is the strongest around lunch time. Dinner will be light, tasty, and vegetarian. Combined massage

Lymphatic drainage manual
